THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Well, maybe not launched; propelled via LIM/LSM, maybe, but definitely not for a B&M in general or The Swarm in particular. However, the jury's out on whether this is going to appear on SW7 and I feel I'll agree with Benin somewhat and say it'll never happen on this ride.EDIT: I get the feeling Graeme may have posted in the wrong topic? People really need to pay attention to where they're posting tonight. It's getting annoying now.

THE SWARM: Construction Updates
OH HEY THERE, TOPIC! Didn't see you there! How'd you get brushed under the carpet like that? It's very kind that our members are taking the time to answer other members' questions that naturally, will deviate from the preferred topic of conversation in this forum - what kind of forum would we be otherwise!? (CF ) - but, if it's possible, please keep on the topic of The Swarm's construction updates. There is a plethora of other forums that are far more appropriate to the discussion currently going on, and it'd be very nice and tidy if you could utilise the other facilities we offer - this is not the only forum on TPM.Thank you very muchly from all the ManiaHub Team :DEDIT: A number of posts have now been deleted from this forum's recent pages after continued ignorance of the forum's rules and regulations with regards to posting relevantly. Please stay on topic in the future to avoid being warned.

- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
But surely they could acquire one that's been retired from service? The renderings are a little confusing as to what kind of helicopter it could be, but I'm not about to get all fanboyish and hunt down models that resemble the plans á la what everyone seemed to be doing when the plane arrived, because as we can see from the station already, Thorpe can deviate quite substantially from the plans agreed with, so long as the dimensions, sound barriers and visual impact remains relatively unchanged.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
I hadn't noticed that Adam But the ground beneath it's rear wheels could've easily been blown away or something, make it look like it'd "reversed" in :PI also like that they've coated the plane fuselage visible for the Flying Fish in white so it doesn't stick out so much. Hopefully they'll add charred renderings to that as well.- Parks, Rides And Coaster News
And on the topic of that eagle...Just the wings are to be finished and added now, along with a few textural renderings. The eagle has an enormous 48ft wingspan. And Wild Eagle's station is doing very nicely as well:Credit to Dollywood's official update site and CF for the image of the eagle.- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Well, after much deliberation and Thorpe geekiness with Valentez, we've spotted that the crane used for lifting the plane into place is still on site and near a Studios North vehicle, which could possibly hold final touches and extra pieces of the helicopter, which is probably hiding somewhere along with the trains.- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Well, when I say Manor Lake, it's actually that the pond was originally planned to be connected to the small body of water that separates Island C from the mainland.- THE SWARM: Speculation & Theories
Yes Valentez, the original plan was to have the helicopter in a pond that was connected to Manor Lake, though possibilities of water contamination made the council reject those plans, so Thorpe revised them with an SuDS for the helicopter. I'd check the date you found that information from, Alex, if it exists at all.- Random

From what I've heard, Huracan Condor isn't as powerful as Detonator, per sé, but because of it's height you may feel a lot more intimidated by it depending on our fearful you are of heights. Detonator's a 'Power Tower' and most of this power comes from the pneumatics at the top, which push the gondola downwards, whereas most other drop towers (including Hurukan Kondor) rely solely on gravitational means to get you to the ground. I believe it was Benin who said overly tall drop towers suffer from terminal velocity? So, if you're not scared of heights, you may get quite bored of the drop after about five seconds of freefall.- The Smiler
This part of your post confuses me Jack. This ride is clearly influenced by Gerstlauer's first attempt at a Giant Eurofighter. Have you not seen Takabisha? Granted, the lift is different to standard Eurofighter models in that it's not vertical, but the design, layout and track are nothing new to Gerstlauer.- The Smiler
It's not finished yet. Still in processing. Blame Liam; he's northern.- The Smiler
8 Inversions. Or at least, 8 on the outside.1) Dive Loop, 2) Dive Loop, 3 Batwing (2 inversions), 4) Sidewinder/Sea Serpent (2 inversions), 5) Cobra roll (2 inversions). The first lift hill is a standard one, and takes up the first four inversions. Then the Batwing hops onto the brake run and the vertical lift for the second section, which covers the last four inversions.- The Smiler
I'm confused by that as well, Neil, as it appear to show a standard lift hill, a steep drop-out turn and then a crest over a vertical drop? Hmm... Anyway inversions-wise.. I counted 8. There's a vertical loop, a side-winder (first used on Arrow coasters), and strange take on a Batwing, a Cobra roll, and a corkscrew. There's no Norwegian loop to the best of my vision.- Music

Best guess is The Swarm put it there. Same as they must've done away with the pilot of the plane and the helicopter etc., etc.- Music

Ooh hello SkyRush's Deadly Sexy Turns part 2:Exhibit A: The second-to-last turn after a delightfully tight air-time hill. The train is going to be screaming through here.Credit to All American Thrills.- THE SWARM: Construction Updates
Ooft... right where it hurts. :oI have to agree Jack, but maybe that's just the perspective of the photo? And I do hope the finished bridge looks less metallic, like they cover up the metal structure as they did with the exposed beams on The Swarm's station, because the wooden look was what made this ride so sinister - that this devastation has happened so far away from something that resembles a big city (the church is easily the kind you'd find in a quaint little British village), so yes, it would be nice to see that. :)EDIT: This photo...This is where the caravan is going isn't it? The caravan that acts as the control room?
