  1. To anyone who has Facebook and is on the offical Alton Towers Page:You will find construction pictures for SW6!
  2. Mark - You say the operator has to be able to see the queue as it is a main attraction. What about Dragon Falls then? Dragon Falls is even more busy, obviously, in the summer. Isn't that queue line completely exposed to the sun too?Really, I think it is common sense that you take a drink with you if you are standing around in a long queue in the sun.(Or is that just me ).Dragon's Fury - I have also seen someone faint but this was just at the batching point.I felt so sorry for them as they looked so embarrased but obviously there was nothing she could do.
  3. The only time I have seen people having to purchase a map is in the kiosks. However, even then, some just give them to guests.(Rightly so, I believe).
  4. Nah. I don't think that Sheepie was joking. :)You are both right! They would be a cool couple!

I am loving that Santa has joined Mania Hub! :P
  6. It does look quite well labelled and layed out for the Dragon's Fury operator.I just hope there is more than just putting the same 2 buttons now for the operator on Dragon's Fury!
  7. Good idea. However, your guess is as good as mine at the moment!

Snow is falling! All around us! Children Playing! Having fun! :P :)HO HO HO!
  9. (I am almost sure what I am about to say relates to the 2009 season). There was a slight charge, even at the entrance on some kiosks I found for a map. However, I always found them free in Guest Services.Recycling boxes were introduced to the park and then the price, if I remember correctly, was taken away. They were 50p before when the charge was introduced for a bit.I know it states it on the link from 'noob230', but maybe this isn't enforced yet or maybe under consideration? :)And noob230 point regarding the Merlin Entertainments Group taking money...I personally look at it under both views.Yes (to taking money) - They can easily gain a bit more money from 50p when really you shouldn't have to pay for a map with the price of your entrance ticket. No - This way the maps are just going to be taken by anyone and then discarded around the park for the Park Presentations team! :PI personally feel that the maps should be free and only given out to people upon request.
  10. The new Dragon's Fury control panel looks mighty fine indeed! :)Thanks for the picture!

Water - Funny enough! :)Eating or Drinking?
  13. I wouldn't say I was a child, but I still do that now to be honest! :oAnd your point about finding the maps:This is true as before I really got into theme parks. I would forget about them. Then I would find a map in my room and ask to go again! So your point Sheepie is perfectly true!
  14. Regarding the Halloween Hocus Pocus maps: I don't really feel there is a need for them to be 'Halloweenafied' anyways.I rarely see people look at the park map. The majority of people I see either ask a member of staff or just walk to any part of the park!

Magrathea - You are definately one I will be adding where the ride freaks name jump out as you go down the track! :oI think I will add myself too if you describe it with Vekoma due to obvious reasons! See picture on the side

Yeah.... Sure..... :)It gets really alloying after a while! :oShame as the car goes down the track that our names can't pop out. (Well, to people that actually are ride freaks ).Bazar idea I know but oh well!

  25. I think you will find that this has been on THORPE PARK's website for sometime now I think. If you go onto a certain ride on the website.E.g. Samurai. It will then show, just before the heading 'Who can ride Samurai', a link above it.The link says 'Click here for further information on Samurai at THORPE PARK.'Once you have clicked on that, you will get all the information James was talking about. You can find out a variety of facts and statistics usually...(Samurai = Was relocated from Chessington & Zoo; 18m in height etc.)Hope this helps!
