As people have said above - For evacuation reasons. Also, I don't think you will want to cut your foot open by a tree would you? :)This is why all footwear must be worn when riding the Vampire and not left on the exit platform.Ride operators usually stop you on the lift hill if you are caught without your shoes on your feet.
  2. I agree about the ride counts being stupid! However, I am just lucky that I remember what I have rode and how many times! :)However, I did count Vampire as I wanted to get on it alot....And Dan, I can totally understand you not wanting to stick with one ride all day. However, I knew that visit would be my last to Chessington & Zoo this season and I also really only wanted to do Vampire for the last hour anyways! (Plus, I had to dose myself up to last a few months! ).

Why repeat the announcements, ruining the station atmosphere when there are ride hosts that are meant to release any restraints anyways!EDIT - And thank you about the "You always seem to have very good points"
  4. I was standing, chatting to a member of staff in the EXP queue, and we counted at least 20 Express Shots used on Dragon's Fury in 5 minutes!
  5. themeparkmad replied to Dan9's topic in UK Attractions
I think the restraints and trains don't need to be changed at all!Maybe a re-paint of the track, but I don't mind the orangey / brown colour at all to be honest!
  6. Vampire! This is Vampire we are talking about!I have waited for the music to be turned up for years, so I didn't get bored.I would never get bored of Vampire and would of done it more if the park was to, for some reason on my visit close later.
  7. You are suggesting they open Hocus Pocus Hall during the Zoo and SEALIFE days...It is a good idea to be honest in my opinion.I think I remember hearing that last year the Carousel and Safari Skyway opened on selected days.As it has been stated... Chessington & Zoo is now officially closed until next season. (Rides and Attractions only).I think you will agree with me to say that Chessington have had a very good season!Annual Pass DayThis day turned out to be very popular with a very high gate figure!Thank you Chessington for your kindness with allowing an Annual Pass day! Halloween Hocus PocusThis has easily been for me the best Halloween Hocus Pocus I have attended!(And for obvious reasons for when I went with 0 mins queues and 26 rides on Vampire!) :PI also think that the Black Forest Haunt was a great success and I am sure it will be welcomed back to Chessington. You know this was going to come...Vampire!I can't believe how much effort went into my baby for Halloween Hocus Pocus. I loved all the attention the station got, as well as the lighting in the station, queue line and ride area. The one that seriously made this on of the best visits to Chessington I have done was... THE MUSIC!The music is amazing loud creating an excellent atmosphere.I would definately welcome back the music at this volume for the entire season, and not just Halloween Hocus Pocus.Extended Closing TimesI think Chessington DEFINATELY treat there guests with care and respect.Vertually every visit I have attended, if it has been busy, they have extended the closing time by an hour.So thank you Chessington! Chessington StaffI feel that usually the rides department always gets all the credit. This is a message to ALL departments at Chessington...I feel as if you really do work hard in creating "magic" for someones day out. Even staff from Chessington that I don't talk to outside the park. As I try to visit as often as I can, I often get the, "hello again", if I am visiting. And even with staff members I have not seen or spoken to before.Take for example my last trip this season...I randomly started talking to a guy at the gate waiting for it to open. Just got talking having a general conversation.Got talking and found out he is a operator in Area 1 (Named Ryan if anyone of you staff know him ).What a great guy!Made my time whilst waiting enjoyable and continued to chat throughout the day whilst he was in Area 1.This also goes the same with a girl on Vampire. (Did not catch name unfortunately). After my day gave up after 21 rides on Vampire. I wanted to continue, (had 15 mins left and got up to 26), she was randomly chatting saying "he has left you has he?!" and "wait for me next time and I will come on".Thank you Chessington staff for making my day more enjoyable.I look forward to visiting Chessington next season, where hopefully, it will be me with a name badge dispatching!

I am glad I am not the only one that doesn't get bored of the music! :)The music was one of the main reasons why I wanted to go on Vampire! (And the ride as well!).I personally think the front 3 rows are better due to you getting more swing in my opinion.Vampire is faster at the back, but you don't get as much swing. And I agree! Vampire is great at Halloween! The only reason why it is great is due to the amount of work put into the Vampire!
  9. Nice to have bumped into you Dan, Tommy and Rich as well! :DAfter we saw you the first time in Vampire's station, I rode Rattlesnake before and had to queue 10 mins! :PThat was a long queue for the day! :PCould of upped your Vampire count eh Dan?
  10. That is the correct exit announcment. But I am unsure whether something is said just before "you hear".... Oh well!
  11. Just posted. See "Chessington Trip Reports" for my report!
  12. Today, I went to Chessington & Zoo...Rides and Attractions were available from 10am until 8pm. - Halloween Hocus Pocus. The queue times were EXTREMELY LOW!Peak Queues:Vampire - 0 minsDragon's Fury - 15 minsRattlesnake - 10 minsTomb Blaster - 0 minsDragon Falls - 5 minsRunaway Train - 0 minsSafari Skyway - 0 minsBlack Buccaneer - 0 minsBubbleworks - 0 minsDragon's Fury's queue was mainly 5 minutes throughout the day though.I also went on Black Forest Haunt which I thought was very good and well thought out! (Queued 15 mins).I also visited Hocus Pocus Hall Bewitched which I thought was a LOT better than last year. Alot more actors, and more scary! (Queued 0 mins).I had an evacuation on Dragon Falls in the morning. I must say 'well done' to the staff as I was evacuated extremely quickly. (And asked for a photo to be taken from the top of the stairs ).I also rolled back on Runaway Train due to a wet floor sign being blown onto the station track; therefore, stopped mid-ride.I done a ride count for Vampire, and I could remember the rest...Dragon's Fury - 6Dragon Falls - 3Bubbleworks - 3Rattlesnake - 4Runaway Train - 4Black Forest Haunt - 1Hocus Pocus Hall Bewitched - 1Safari Skyway - 1Tomb Blaster - 1and prepare yourselves!..I done the most rides on Vampire in one day for myself so far...26!!!I dedicated between 7pm and 8pm 'Vampire Time'. Because it would be my last trip this season, I wanted to dose myself up! :)I had 14 rides in a ROW between 7pm and 8pm, and the rest of the rides on Vampire were throughout the day.Vampire's lighting.I thought the lighting around the queue line and during the ride was amazing!I thought it was really good where there were also dark parts for the ride, as well as colourful lighting.Vampire's Music. All I can say is... WOW!!! I can't tell you how long I have waited to experience what I did today!I loved how the atmosphere in the station was buzzing, and loving the "makeover" of the station!(I also got some good recordings of the laughs that aren't in the "common copy" that people own). Overall, A great day! Easily 10/10!Oh yeah... technical stuff...Dragon Falls and Tomb Blaster had a slight problem during the day, but re-opened very quickly.Vampire was closed for appoximately 20 mins to take a train off the track. (So was still left with a 2 train operation).I did not see Griffins Galleon run at all, all day.
  13. So you want it to close at 8:30pm? Fair enough, I can play along with that. However, if it was changed to your suggestion of closing at 8:30pm, then you would want 9pm and so on! :PI visited today and it was the best Halloween Hocus Pocus I have done so far.I think I might even write a trip report!
  14. Your Exit announcement Outfit is wrong! :PI don't know it fully myself, But I know it definately doesn't say "Ok?" at the end.
  15. I think you will find that is incorrect information!
  16. All of what I am going to say is going to be honest...THORPE PARKI do miss THORPE PARK, but it is sort of "controlable" for me. The only thing that I usually miss from time to time is a ride on Colossus. However, that is something to look forward to.Chessington & ZooI all honesty...I miss that place SO much it is unreal.I mainly miss Vampire and hearing the laughs in the music and just the ride.I also get times where I am in lessons, and smell the Bubbleworks, Tomb Blaster or Dragon Falls which always makes me want to visit!Chessington & Zoo is the only place for me where the closed season goes so slow! (I mainly have Vampire to blame for that). It is not just the ride, it is the whole atmosphere and sounds that just make me happy. Also, I have met some fantastic people through Mania Hub, and the ones I have got to met are so nice, it is unreal! This is another reason why I don't like the parks being closed as the two most easiest places to go to meet up are THORPE PARK and Chessington & Zoo! :PObviously, you can easily find activities such as shopping, general meets, going out for a meal to even London Dungeons, Madame Tussauds and London Eye. (If you are missing your Merlin Annual Pass that much!) :DIt is not so much December that I notice that the parks are closed, due to the whole celebration of Christmas. It is when I hit January, I start craving Chessington & Zoo and Vampire! :)I think I have made a conclusion.... BLAME VAMPIRE!
  17. Exit Passes can be issued to people on other visits to Chessington & Zoo.I know myself that when I have not used an Exit Pass. I have got it re-validated for a future visit.Maybe there was a technical delay during the day and you didn't notice?
  18. Thank you so much for that! I will look forward to hearing Vampire's music tomorrow! Monster Mash is a must for me at Chessington & Zoo!
  19. Exit Passes are usually given if a complaint has been made, or a Ride / Attraction has broken down.
  20. That is how good theme park music should be! :PAnd I am glad that one of my favourite Fright Nights tunes is very loud!
  21. Nemesis Inferno's music was definately my favourite for Fright Nights!"Freeze Their Souls" playing around the ride area and on trains dispatching is just simply amazing!
