  1. I'll tell you one thing that's really starting to get on my tits lately:"This week our website found that Tesco had 1770 price cuts. Not bad, considering that Asda were even cheaper, with 4643 price cuts."Who gives a flying f**k? Not I. Grr.

  2. Here are my favourites:

    • Colossus' anti-rollback as it comes off the lift hill
    • Slammer's motors working away when it's spinning
    • Inferno's lift hil - just listen to the noise it makes the next time you are on it, going up the lift hill
    • Stealth hitting the magnetic brakes
    • Stealth's winch house noises in generally, and the "whizzing" noise you can hear when a train launches. You have to be right up close to the winch house to hear these.
    • Vortex's "humming" noise when swinging. It can be heard clearly during test-runs without the music.
  3. End of the day music is a piece of music that plays everyday at near enough 6 oclock, it plays across the entire park on all the area speakers and some queueline speakers. It starts of with a lively piece of music for 3 mins, then another 3 minute ambient track which is also in the lower dome throughout the day, then it ends with a 5 or so minute long piano track. I wouldn't be surprised if you hadn't heard it, it was first used summer 2007, then done a dissapearing act and is now back.WWTP caravan has a huge dent in the side of it at the mo  Its used for selling Stealth fastrack tickets though. And Tidal's WWTP has always been a loop, Stealths was a randomiser thing so I guess there was problems with it, needing a loop rather than randoms.

Is this end of day music available to download? I have heard the ambient track in the lower dome during the day, that is rather neat. Also, let's loop Stealth then!I have to admit to being a Thorpe audio junkie. I have everything. I love the entrance theme. I have Colossus and Rumba Rapids snippets and have them as ringtones just incase I ever wanna change my tone.
  4. Many of us forget this, but if you just stop and stare at Carousel, we're reminded of what's not at Chessington anymore. All the pictures round the top (well, more like artwork actually) are fantastic. The ride information board in Market Square is good, and Thorpe's ones are good too. But I do think they need to be a little bit larger, not so big as the ones at Alton Towers. And that's the thing with Alton Towers' ones, there's not a scrolling LED above every ride entrance. And to have one at every entrance, or an idea of how long the queue is, is good.

  5. Vampire is still "fangtastic" (as the Safari Skyway states) but I have to wonder what on earth is going on sometimes. I mean, I really do not understand the logic of closing the gates for the back seats and only allowing people with a Fastrack ticket to ride the back if they want to, from the exit platform. In my view that goes against people's choice. The back seat is one of the best seats on Vampire, second to the front.I know it's something little, something picky. But it's little things like these which has seen Transylvania's downfall since 2004. That was the last proper year (04) for Transylvania. Vampire was running excellently, and Professor Burp's Bubbleworks was still around. You can't really count 2005 as the last proper year, as everyone new about the Bubbleworks re-theme in 2005 and therefore we all weren't smiling for the entire season. Oh, another good thing about then - McDonald's. Merlin's takeover has been great, yes, but to ditch McDonald's in flavour of Burger King? They say it was a healthy step forward. Well, come on BK, show us your fruit bags. Oh sorry, you don't do them, unlike Ronald McDonald.Transylvania is still great and my favourite area at Chessington, but it's not living up to the classic, real Transylvania today that we have seen in the past.

  6. Since I got RCT3 2 months ago I have not stopped trying to recreate a lot of park rides. First I did Transylvania with Vampire and Bubbleworks at Chessington. Then I did Stealth and soon added in Tidal Wave. However, my best and favourite one is X Sector at Alton Towers, complete with Oblivion, Submission and Enterprise. I did one version and then one evening I was playing with land shaping. So I did another and dug a massive hole for Oblivion. I built Oblivion, paved over the top to cover the hole, and then did the rest of X Sector. I soon realised my X Sector was way too big so reduced not only the length of Oblivion but better-positioned Enterprise and Submission. When you look at the Bubbleworks, it looks nothing like Bubbleworks because there is no building, no theme - just the route of the ride, complete with queue lines. It's all outside. Vampire I still could improve on, unfortunately I have f**ked up because the drop round the corner into Transylvania is totally in the wrong place compared to reality.OK, so mine aren't the best, but I'm still happy with them. I've never used RCT 1 or 2. But I'm sure I'll improve. My next challenge is to do Forbidden Kingdom at Alton Towers, with Nemesis and Air.Soon I will post some pictures of my work. And I will show you my best and worst X Sector.

  7. Discuss the fun, fast and zany ghost train that is....Duel! What I find funny about this ride is that it is definetly one of my favoriots in Alton, just beating RITA and AIR!

It's one of my favourite rides at Alton Towers too.Duel is definately better than Tomb Blaster, for a start, I think it's longer and much more entertaining. Infact, once, I rode Duel and didn't play the game - I just sat there and went round admiring the whole ride, purely because I find it that entertaining!Answer me this though: what is better out of Duel or Phantom Fantasia that used to be at Thorpe Park? Phantom Fantasia was excellent but Duel kicks ass I think.
  8. Sorry for this, but what actually caused Dragon's Fury's downtime back in May? From what I can understand a replacement part was needed for the motor at the top of the lift hill, and I saw the picture recently of the paving directly below it stained with oil or something.Despite Fury having a rocky start on it's opening year in 2004, the ride generally runs like clockwork now. So that speight of downtime was the first since...?

  9. End of Day music is playing every day near enough at closing time which is pretty good! Nice music

What is end of day music and where is it played? :)

Some negative points however, WWTP is at its worst ever in Stealth area's. It STILL cuts out, more and more speakers are gradually dying and its hard to hear. Its also got extremely tedious now with the same songs on a loop but tbh I doubt most people are gonna visit enough to realise that. DJ's coming back and speakers being fixed would be a great improvement!

I'm not sure about worse ever, but I agree it's not at it's best. The only DJ we're treated to these days is Big Bob Jones and we're lucky if we get to hear that! The poor caravan sits there these days and has been left untouched for absouletely ages now. The last time I saw it open with someone in there was in 2006.But WWTP in Stealth does need improving. The selection of tracks is at such a low number, that TPM offers more! What is strange though is that how Amity Cove's WWTP radio is still blasting out tunes no problem.
  10. Glad to see Rush has re-opened after all this time closed. When I was at the park last Saturday 2 blokes walked past carrying water test dummies over their shoulders, and I asked if they were doing test runs. They said yes and said it might even be open later. That was at about 11:00am and by 1:00pm the ride was open! When you think about it Rush has recieved the most attention in the last few years. First they replaced the wheels for the cables at the top with the new and better pre-fabricated cable transfers, then over the closed season it's top was totally removed for maintenance. And now finally all this of late.Oh, and not forgetting the best music Rush has ever had is now in place.

  11. Those Colossus nets look worse than I imagined! I was at the park last Saturday and saw lots of timber and power tools near the entrance. It was only when I spoke to a bloke that I found out why it was closed. You'd have thought that they might have taken a leaf out of Stealth's book and put some similar ones up.
