  1. That area was never part of Transylvania. There was a sign on the grass yes, simply to direct guests down the hill through the Transylvania arch.Remember, back then it was a HUGE theme park attraction. The newer Pirates buildings along lift two and the games 'village' were built not long after.
  2. I remember this very well! Great find, really interesting (you should really get that site back up on it's feet)!
  3. No worries! Glad you found them entertaining! Can't wait to see what else they come up with. They will have some huge theming added, sure we'll see much more from the marketing team even on that too.In regards to the story of the ride, this is the one time that I think Thorpe will have it right, and it's certainly looking to be the best ride on park.

    This from TPG any good?

The second that it leaves that small trim, it's freefall. It's a stupid tiny detail.Mumbo Jumbo hurls you over it's drop, with a whack of smooth airtime. Saw does not.

If anything, I expect the final room to be detoured completely.
  7. With speculation all over the place, no-one has yet discussed the potential of these amazing trains.Remember, Raptor is a huge winged beast.. What on earth will LC12 be?
  8. Sorry, my bad. I mistook ride announcements, for ride announcements ! Perhaps one of our ever so friendly mods, could re-locate this?

Lol indeed. As already said, NADA happening at all. The path is open and you can most certainly smell there was a fire.
  10. Yes, the hype really has begun.I've uploaded a few pictures on my twitter profile and will get some to Marc shortly. The park was covered in flyers today. 'The end is coming, uncover the truth'. Ride supports, bins, walls, games.. Everything. With thousands if guests on park, I doubt there was a single person who missed this.Another good thing was some actors were running around the park, in sandwhich boards, with the same slogan on.With actors 'freaking out' and running about, even security got in on the action and 'moved them along..'I feel this is only the start. There will be many suprises yet to come..
  11. Look out for more hints on August 1st!http://lc12.net/
  12. Anyone going to the park today??

Slammer has had SO much time and money spent on it, although it's still a nightmare for stopping in various positions, amongst everything else. The fact the ride is so rare now, I think can only be a good thing..for marketing terms atleast
  14. One of THE BEST theme park adverts I've seen in YEARS...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmbJ5hNN0Uw&feature=channel_video_title
  15. Seeing as we haven't got a marketing topic, thought it best to add this here. I tweeted this, this morning, but some great shots have appeared over the press today.. Looks like 'vicars' have been called in, again..Let us prey for the thrills!...and in the Metro
  16. Merlin go back and fix it? YEH RIIIGHT..Serious FAIL. It almost hurts looking at that set peice, with mist and effects around it's teeth, just knowing where it was designed to go.I look forward to going on the ride to compare it to Sheikra and Oblivion, but really? What a complete fu-k up.
  17. I'm going to join the line of unhappy fanboys on this one. Whilst the ride looks great, the theming is a severe let down. The park have said that they are happy with revised theming, but of course thy would! What they mean is, we're really embarassed. What a fail from Merlin. Great job on B&M, FAIL from Merlin, this was really exciting and Merlin didn't deliver.Dive into the mouth, well dive next to the mouth of KRAKE!

Checked the Thorpe website. Three attractions still down. Granted two of them aren't on my must do list! Last time I was going to go, Samurai was still down. Thats been Three times, I was planning a trip and now not going to bother until LC12 construction gets interesting.
  19. It really does proove, that Merlin CAN do this stuff. Gardaland has so many hidden 'underground' well themed rides, with effects, mist, fog, general ride effects all working and a lot of them on their small random rides aswell as the big ones. It's a very valid point to say that, Thorpe Park don't give a sh~t about their ride effects and should really be ashamed of their awful efforts. After riding Raptor, Thorpe will be onto a winner with LC12, if only they care enough to keep it on top form.Water splashes and effects F T W !
  20. This one??
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbUqywUDXSsJust back from Gardaland.Raptor is EPIC. Its big, everything about it is big. The track, the 'creature', the music and it's surroundings! As we all knew, it was never going to be a huge thrill machine, but it is thrilling. Some pops of airtime thrown in too. The ride rides best at the back (first drop is cool), although the front is awesome, just because it's the 'front'. I was suprised to get so wet, with fog effects and water spashes. Add it being walk on for both days I were there and = a happy Fever!Ive added some pics to my Facebok page, of a pretty cool and very well themed park!

I don't think that it was really necessary, although I'm sure, someone would have moaned somewhere of it being tasteless.
