SAW: The Ride
It's worth pointing out that there is a fairly long delay from exiting the ride and waiting to see your DVD on the screen. It's not at all as quick as the onride photo's.

Nemesis Inferno
Well, if your one of those people that has been knocked backwards by a cheap roller coaster, some UV blacklights, a couple of swinging-or most likely probably not blades, some air blasters and a bumpy ass ride that is Saw. Then no, Nemesis Inferno will be as rubbish as you remember. For a lot of other people, it will demonstrate how great a high quality, no gimmick coaster can be.

Nemesis Inferno
RED smoke?I assume you mean mist and red lighting?

Slammer
If batching hasn't begun on either side, then I'd go for the MOC side. Sadly, the ride experience isn't as good this side due to view and slamming forwards first during her firsts few rotations. It's hit or miss and to be fair if you're in a group of two, the chances of you people called forward is fairly high, as the ride needs a two person difference. This can be annoying when groups won't seperate to either end of the ride boom when asked.

As I said a couple of posts up from yours.

SAW: The Ride
I find it frustrating that a lot of members are still unaware of the 'thrill island' idea. There are no longer areas or themed 'lands'. Anything as strong as the Creek is just because it was done years ago. Saw is on a different island. It's not in an 'area'. The only reason they're still known as 'areas' is simply because people are used to it. There will be no more 'themed lands' well, unless they change their minds. Mumbo Jumbo is steeper than it's sister at Indiana Beach and will become the steepest roller coaster in the world and officially into the world record books on opening day. The 'freefall' thing is a minor technicality; as soon as the train leaves the trim, at the top of the drop-the car is on freefall. Regardless, the 'beyond vertical' drops are far less superior than a simple vertical drop. Think how gravity works!

Slammer
It was themed and named as that, after we'd seen the planning application for the ride going in and over on Southparks, everyone was excited and throwing ideas around. That's when the simulation appeared. Remember, we knew nothing of the ride name or the theme until later on.

Nemesis Inferno
Looking at that picture makes me sad. Will they just 'apoint' someONE to do it please. Too much passing round the buck, where should the responsibility lie? Engineers have the hassle of having the rides 'working'. I think they should include ride 'effects' as part of that and also, part of their bonus if working as designed too.No effects=no bonus

SAW: The Ride
Right, let's leave that there before we have a full report of who saw them and on what date. Enough on that subject!
-
Slammer
Yes the ride is troublesome, but having the second of only two in the world is something pretty damn fine. Slammer has had tons of money spent on her and as I say, it's a highly unique, one of a kind ride. She won't be going anywhere just yet.

Stealth
Wasn't it more to due with the Intamin T bar's having several 'issues' in other parks and so to make things safer, the shoulder restraint was shown off the first time on Kingda Ka.

SAW: The Ride
I still haven't seen any of this queueline actor buisness with my own eyes!

SAW: The Ride
LOL It's not a case of it being 'fair'. Whilst it's annoying, it is simply the case of having two cars dispatched at the same time and really, the second just allows two cars in from offload to speed up the entire loading and aiding to the rides capacity.I personally would have liked the indoor sections to have been in different 'rooms'. It makes me sad to hear and even see the train infront running the track, but hey ho, we can't have it all!As for the random staff member litter picking, it's a good thing they're keeping ontop the new ride. That particular rides manager is good at presentation, he will want it looking clean and presentable, good for his bonus points with his management too!

Stealth
Ugh, get over it! Stealth is technically able to launch faster, but for all the reasons Ian has written, it won't and never will. For those wanting the world record, does it really honestly matter? Blackpool's Pepsi Max had a record once and it was and still is, possibly THE most boring roller coaster in the entire universe! Having the FASTEST, TALLEST, LOOPIEST, STEEPEST ride in the world means NADA. Nemesis at Alton Towers has no world firsts, yet look what reputation it has, world class.
-
Stealth
Stealth runs at nothing what it could run at (I can't remember the exact detail). But with the obvious H&S issues for the riders, the train, the brakes and even, the track it travels at the perfect speed to safely take it over it's 205ft height.

MTDP
SO many ideas are tossed around, I can assure you at this point, most people on park won't have a clue, but would have heard the talk and of course, read the fan forums..

Oblivion
The 'beyond vertical' degree takes the edge off the drop. Oblivion is class, pure leave your gut at the top, where as Saw is "oh, a steep drop..Ouch, my head!"

Sadly, a lot of those 'numerous bad points' at Thorpe are pointed out, purely because it's a very popular park. This is mainly a Thorpe Park forum, people come here as it's called Thorpe Park Mania, not Merlin Mania. The park is at current, a victim of it's own sucsess. Some fans visit every single week and so, have a lot to say and they notice the bad points, every single one of them.I personally, am the first to praise Thorpe for the good they do (and are doing), but the bad points are annoying and have been the same year after year. Personally as great as the parks engineering Dept are, they simply do not have enough of them. As various depts are being investigated, it's clear bosses at Merlin are aware there is a problem somewhere along the line and are trying to iron it out.You are always going to have fans discuss he bad and to be honest, even some of the good points get over looked as people do like a moan! It's far easier to annoy someone than make them write about what good they've done instead. In regards to Alton Towers having these 'numerous problems' too, I'm sure they do and go un-noticed due to the space of the rides and inbetween BUT ALSO, do note that it was Alton Towers that managed to have Nemesis running one day, shut it, changed the entire lift chain AND had the ride back in operation on the same day! Imagine that happening at Thorpe?? NO.

Just to clarify, the skyride at Alton Towers Resort is, in fact amazing! Money well spent.

SAW: The Ride
He is on the right, the first turn after leaving the station. Car one will go past him, but he get's a light..Car two will stop and listen to a little pre-show, quite hard to hear over the first car running the track ahead and through the air blasting.

Because they had a huge dark ride sitting 'behind the scenes' un-used!- Closed Rides
To stand up for Mark, Thorpe has a great line up of rides, some of the best in Europe in fact-but they themselves will also agree (perhaps not on an internet forum), the park has major problems-the BIGGIE being with ride reliability. Some departments are currently being monitored to find out what these problems are. Just because this forum and many others are watched over by the park, does not mean people should feel they have to praise everything they do.- Oblivion
I said Oblivion makes Saw look like a cheap fun fair ride. You said: Quality means money. Saw, not being *that* cheap, but on the coaster scale of things, it is. Compared to Oblivion, Saw is a cheap fun fair ride - Wicked Witches Haunt
