Alton's MTDP
I think anything has a higher capacity than Jungle coaster to be honest , I think me giving people a 5 minute piggy back around a park would have a higher throughput.

Thorpe Park Trip Reports
Just got back from Thorpe , was there from 9.30 till 1.Who was it who said the ques would be 30 mins for coasters and 15 mins for flats! ?Started off by going straight to Stealth and did it at the front and then walked straight on again via single rider. Then went to go on again but the man wouldn't let me despite there still not being a que.So went off to Nemesis Inferno, I still hadn't been on it this year and for the first time ever. I really really liked it, I still think it's the weakest main coaster at Thorpe but it was great and for the first time that I've been on, it was forceful. Stayed on 3 times without getting off at the back which was brilliant. Could have stayed on again but decided to go for Colossus.By now it was 10 to 10 so we were expecting the Colossus que to be at least an hour, the first time it took 10 minutes to get on at the front, second time it took just 15 mins and sat near-ish the back. Both times smooth and no head-banging , but at the front it truly is sensational. Next was Samurai and got a good long setting, took about 15 minutes, Saw's que was 75 minutes!Whilst queing for Samurai , Colossus and Saw both broke down at the same time for about 15-20 minutes each. Then, Walked on to Slammer which is still just insane Decided to pop on to Detonator now , and Saw the geyser on Nemesis Inferno which I thought was absolutely awesome Oh also , On top of the Detonator operator cabin , is what looks like some bones and stuff like that, looked like bits of theming from Corkscrew at Alton Towers which was strange, check it out next time you ride it.By now , Colossus was 60 minutes, Stealth was 50 and Nemesis Inferno was 35. So we entered the que for Detonator when it said 15 minutes, it actually took 35 minutes. There was the slowest, grumpiest staff member I've ever seen at Thorpe, every other time I've been this year I've praised the staff but this guy , just slowly strolled around the gondola and pulled them down, and , I would say on at least every single ride there was a seat spare, I was riding by myself and he didn't even make an effort any time to check for any 1's . Detonator is still the only ride on park that makes me poop myself EVERY time Then moved round to Stealth in hope to get another single rider done, but it had broken down. So then decided to try out Time Voyagers for the first time. I thought it was good fun but it would be boring a 2nd time, It would be enhanced so much if the seats actually moved rather than just vibrating.By now , Colossus was 90 minutes, Nemesis 60 , Stealth 70, and Saw was 70 aswell I think. So went to do Rush , I actually think the que for Rush moves faster than any other ride at Thorpe. I then decided to leave as it was about 29 degrees, and now the que for Colossus was 120 minutes! Overall an awesome day ProsGetting a lot of rides done in a short amount of timeGetting Re-rides on Nemesis InfernoNemesis Inferno GeysersConsIrritating op on DetonatorAnnoying man not letting a single rider in the single rider que...Ride CountColossus x 2Stealth x 2Nemesis Inferno x 3Slammer x 1Samurai x 1Rush x 1Time Voyagers x 1Detonator x 1Here are some pictures from todayWas very foggy on the way thereSaw these for the first time , they wern't as much of an eyesaw as I thought they would be but I didn't see anyone use them the whole day. This is why you go straight over to the Stealth and Nemesis Inferno side of the park :rolleyes:Oh also, with this 2 for £2 thing , with the annual pass discount I ended up getting a Magnum for 80 p Nemesis Inferno's Lift Colossus from SlammerAnother one of ColossusAnd SlammerDidn't take many other picsThanks for taking the time to read this.

My photo challenge!
In this circumstance I think I'm going to let this count It's just a bit of fun so I'm not going to be a big boring meanie and say this time that you can't , but this doesn't mean that rules can be broken in the future etc. and another time I don't think I would let it count , it's only because someone you know/ was with took it.

My photo challenge!
I personally don't think that is important and could take the "shine" off of winning.Yes the competition would be better with more votes but this week in my honest opinion , the best picture won. The standard of pictures this week was very high and lets hope that will continue in weeks to come. The challenge I have chosen this week is a very general one to try and get more people to have a bit of fun and take part
-
My photo challenge!
Ouch, triple post Oh well :rolleyes:It's time to announce this weeks winner and even with the low number of votes , it was a close competition. The winner is......"Drum Roll" TimR !!!Well done TimI just want to say thank you to everyone who entered once again , this week we had a lot more entries which was brilliant, all we need now is more votes :PSo, just thanks for taking part and supporting this competition :)Anyway , on to next weeks competition. This week in an attempt to get more people involved, the challenge is..." To get the best picture possible of any coaster at Thorpe OR Chessington OR Alton Towers "Next week voting will close on Sunday as usual and hopefully the change in closing time was the reason for the few votes. Thanks once again and Good luck

My photo challenge!
More votes are needed! There is not much point in doing this competiton type thing ( which is awesome and good fun ) with the amount of votes I have recieved so far .
-
My photo challenge!
Thinking about it , No , I am planning in the future to occasionally do various park challenges and bring Chessington into the mix, or maybe sometimes challenges where the entries can be from any park. I guess , moving it to the Thorpe section may bring it more entries and votes , but probably wouldn't ALWAYS suit it.

My photo challenge!
You all have until 12 to get your entries in! :)And then voting will begin, you can vote until 6.30 PM tonight :rolleyes:This week voting is going to be the same as last week , so all you have to do is send a quick message to me simply stating the name of the person who's picture you think should win. Last week we only got a very small amount of votes so lets have more this week and remember , you don't have to have entered a picture to vote, but of course you can vote if you have entered , just not for yourself Hope that's clear and I've not rambled on too much , This weeks challenge will be announced closed at 12 and the winner will be announced about 6.35 PM, then as usual next weeks challenge will be announced. ( Just realised I don't have a clue for a challenge next week! , if you guys have any preferences then just mention that in your vote and it will be taken in to account . )

Alton's MTDP
Just was reading on Towers Times and Alton's MTDP for the next 10 years has been revealed.I'm just going to quote a post on that site as I wouldn't be able to put it in my own words effectively. Personally this all sounds great to me It's a shame to hear Spinball Whizzer possibly leaving, Yes it has terrible throughput and sticks out like a sore thumb but it is a great little ride. Your thoughts ?

Your Thorpe Park
Most of those seem good apart from the Splash Battle, In My opinion they are boring and uneventful. Also you just have to look at how unpopular the one at Alton Towers is to see it wouldn't be a worthwhile investment.
-
Your Thorpe Park
I agree , I think it would bombard the senses to be honest.

My photo challenge!
Remember everyone that this week , the competition closes tomorrow instead of Sunday , So get your pictures in soon :rolleyes:Next week will resume as normal and will finish on Sunday

Alton Towers Trip Reports
Just got back from a day at Alton Towers. Got there at 10 and left at 3. Headed straight for Nemesis and rode at the back, reinstalled itself as my number one Then on to Air and had the usual ride, Fun but not at all thrilling. Then on to Rita for the first que of the day of 30 minutes, don't usually go on Rita and hadn't been on for a couple of years, It's good and has some pretty awesome airtime , but compared to Stealth, has a weak launch and doesn't have much substance. Also you get a hell of a lot of painful neck bashing and by the end the bar is so tight down the circulation to my legs was almost cut off Time for the Runaway Train which was fun but it's just so slow after that incident Awesome , fun crew btw Next was Duel and was fantastic today, Everywhere I looked there was an effect going off and was just brilliant. Also got a Personal best of 50,000 :)Then we did The Flume which was fun but I think it's time something better was put in it's place , I wish a Log flume like Ripsaw falls at IOA was built.During the time we had lunch, and done Duel, RMT etc , the park had got heaving , with Air on 80, Rita on 65, Oblivion on 75!! and wait for it, Nemesis had the biggest que with 90! Then after some calming walking I decided to quickly get a ride on Oblivion , it took 5 minutes with Single Rider. Was near abouts the end now and jumped in a lengthy single rider que which took only 25 minutes and headed home. Pros : On a day full of school trips, getting the big four done plus others Saw Rita's smoke and it looks brilliant , if only Stealth's was more reliable Getting on my favourite coaster :DCons: The Que boards at Alton Towers are updated so infrequently!, SO many times a que would say ages less than it actually was, And with it being Alton Towers, and there being a good 25-30 minute walk involved, it can get annoying. Also , I personally think Battle Galleons is a poor ride, but I didn't realise it is QUITE so unpopular, the whole day it's que ranged from 0-5 minutes, Even with The Flume having an hour que and rapids with 35 minute que.

Front row, I've only been back row once but I was really dissapointed and I think it's nowhere enar as good as front.1st Car or 2nd car on Saw.

Drayton Manor
I've never been but from what I've heard from many friends and relatives, It's absolutely SHOCKING. Tomorrow I'm popping up to Alton Towers, but had the choice of going to Drayton, I was strongly persuaded by others to go anywhere but Drayton Manor, Apocalypse, is apparently very good but thats it. G-force is like death, Shockwave is rough as hell and well thats pretty much it. I still always think I'll try and get up there , but with trips to Alton only every few months, I can't see it happening any time soon unless reviews improve or they get something big and not gimmicky.
