Just wondering before my visit to Thorpe tomorrow, Is Saw still running without the trims on the MCBR?I haven't ridden it without them on and I've heard it's much better without them on
-
Yea , I'm expecting Tomorrow to be heaving to be honest. But then again I think it's impossible for it to be busier than the last time I went so a win win situation
-
Thanks very much for your help , and wow thats brilliant of Chessington , that sort of thing can make a day out so much better . Carrying on with that , how often is that figure reached?
-
Oh yea, Completely forgot about that! But then again maybe even just 30 mins ERT
-
Glad you had a great couple of days.I agree completely with Rita being far inferior to Stealth. And like you I don't see why Thorpe can't give annual pass holders ERT as well.Only thing I disagree with is about Duel, I think it's themeing is patchy, cartoony and jsut a really mish-mash and well just doesn't really go. Also with Duel, it's such a hit and miss ride , sometimes it is something special and truly amazing , other's it's boring and none of the effects are working, Sadly the latter is the case most often.Once again like you said the atmosphere at Alton really does have that sort of magical feel IMO and there's so much less smoke, swearing and in general less bad behaviour.

Ah thanks very much. At least I have a sort of Idea now :DBit of a long shot but how likely is it for either of them to extend there closing time ?
-
Ooooh , Considering changing my trip on thursday from Thorpe to Chessington :DBtw what time are both of them closing on thursday? I would check the website myself but my internet seems to have decided to not allow me on them Any help is appreciated

I agree Colossus' loop is fantastically forceful but I don't see how you can say Inferno's is, I've never found any of it forceful , one of the reasons I just don't like it. Just my opinion though. :)Back on topic I love Colossus
-
Damn. Going thursday and if Loggers and Slammer are down thats two of my favourite rides unavailable. :PWhat exactly is wrong with Loggers?
-
I go with my friends as much as I can but thats not always possible as I'm the only one with an annual pass.Anyway back on topic , is Saw still running on 8 cars? and how long about does it take now when the whole Que is completley full?
-
I really would do anything for Thorpe to invest in Single rider Que's on the majority of the rides again. I haven't had a time as good as I did a few years ago when it was on most of the rides because, the rest of my family literally wont go on ANYTHING apart from maybe a Nemesis Inferno ride and a Rumba Rapids at Thorpe and they won't Que with me either so I have to que by myself for a whole day which isn't great fun and with the chavvy nature of Thorpe can be really intimidating and scary for me at times . It wouldn't be THAT costly would it?
-
I agree it's definatley a lot more tension building, personally I much prefer the Original Nemesis' one, but then again Nemesis is one of my favourite rides and I find Inferno short, boring, force less etc,
-
I respectfully disagree. Detty punches well above it's weight ( in this case height ) it's much more forceful and powerful than many larger drop towers. I do wish it was taller and had a higher throughput but it is by far the best ride IMO they could have got to fit in the height limit .Edit: On that stand up note. That would be awesome!! . What I think they should do , is build an identical detty tower but with standup seats

I agree with Inferno being the worst of the large coasters, and Woah guys hold your horses. Slammers experience is unbelievable and unrivalled anywhere else in the world ( I think ). Unless a seriously spellbinding flat replaced it or an amazing dark ride, I would be devastated if it went. I do agree though, it's reliability is diabolical, embarrassing, a shambles any other words that mean absolutely shocking. It, IMO is one of the biggest things ( of many) Thorpe need to sort out first.
-
Yea I agree, Manta looks amazing, and has the sort of themeing I wish Air had, But personally I think Hollywood, Rip, Rideit, Rockit or whatever it's called looks better
-
For those most wanting to ride Sheikra, It's absolutely brilliant, BUT it's very slightly and literally the tiniest of margins better than oblivion. The drop is awesome but similar to Oblivion's and the only real difference is there's nothing below you at all. Haven't decided if I prefer Oblivion's hole or Sheikra's open-ness. The rest of Sheikra isn't as good as I think it could of been. For me the ride's I want to ride most are El Toro, Millenium Force, Something like them, with lots of airtime as I'm still yet to ride an airtime full coaster where the main point of the ride is Air-time
-
From pictures it's got to be Cedar Point, But from personal experience , It's got to be Busch Gardens Africa Or Islands of Adventure
-
Sounds like maybe all this hype for SAW is hopefully beginning to die down ? hopefully
-
I wan't to believe what he said because those 3 things happening would be AMAZING beyond belief IMO . But yeah I wish there was some sort of proof :oEDIT: Just been thinking and if there is a new roller coaster going in the Black Hole tent , maybe that's going to be the world first? a possibility? Or maybe I've confused myself

I agree, Colossus was insanely loud on friday (not that it's a bad thing ), Much much louder than I remembered or thought it had been before.
-
I agree it's bumpy and vibrates a bit but it's a fantastic ride and luckily don't find it the least bit painful. I don't have to "brace" myself to enjoy it. I do think however it would benefit from some new trains that are a more comfortable and some better restraint's so more people enjoy it. On Friday when I visited Thorpe with some friends they loved Colossus but said they thought it was a bit uncomfortable, strangely though the bit they found painful was the end "barrel roll" bit where they said being continuously chucked into the restraints hurt there shoulders, didn't mention the cobra roll or anywhere else strangely. They said it didn't detract from the whole experience though.

I was thinking yesterday after my visit to THORPE what I would be prepared to Que for the rides and why and thought it would be interesting to see what you guys would Que as well. I haven't seen another topic like this so my apologies if there has been one.So... :PSAW: 90 mins, I just love SAW and I think it's one of the few rides in the UK that's a complete package, Que line, Theming, actual ride and it's not over in 15 secondsColossus: about an hour I think, The only other ride at THORPE I think is worth quite a lengthy Que as again I feel the ride is quite long especially compared to some others.Stealth: 30 mins , Absolutely Insane and amazing... while it lasts. I just wish it had another airtime hill or an overbank turn or just something.Nemesis Inferno: 50 mins, I like Nemesis Inferno but for some reason I never get that excited about riding and its usually, if I have to miss one of the Big 4 , the one that gets left out.Detonator: 40, I love detonator , Don't know what else to say :DRush: Again I absolutely love Rush is in my top 3 non-coaster rides along with Samurai and Detonator.Samurai: 60, My favourite Flat ride, Still can't believe I haven't been on it this year!Vortex: I like Vortex but I don't go on it very often as it usually has a long Que which moves slowly.Zodiac: 5 , Don't like it and think it's a waste of spaceQuantum: 10, I absolutely LOVE Quantum Slammer: 45: Forgot about this in my top 3 flats, this is definitely number 2 but again I still haven't ridden this yet this year as I've been 3 times this year and 2 times it was closed all day.Loggers Leap: 30 , Good ol' Plain fun Tidal Wave: 20 , Will only ride if Scorching ( like Yesterday:) )Rumba Rapids: depends, The other week it was Brilliant with ALL effects working , but yesterday I don' think ANY were and the first third up until the tunnel was just a slow boring run to the tunnel.X:/ No way out: 5, and that would only be if EVERYthing else was above 20 ( even Quantum)So Post yours

Yep definitely When first walked in the amount of cars in park and the Que length to get in seemed near identical to in Easter half term., Like I said before , how does one ride change a day that was Walk-ons last year into almost hour Ques for the main rides!? And good to see our Que times are pretty similar , Some rides I only passed a few times so Just put that. And Interesting to see at the start of the day we had a pretty similar layout/ride order.
-
Couldn't go down to 10 ! and the reason for most of mine over English ones is that the rides overseas really do give you a ride that however long you Que is worth it, Is there any ride in the UK with a MCBR? Not like on SAW's I mean like one on an Inverter or something like that. Note I couldn't think of the order to put them in apart from the 1st one :P1.The amazing (literally Amazing) adventures of spiderman- Islands of adventure2.The Incredible Hulk coaster- Islands of adventure3.Popeye and Bluto's bilge rat barges- Islands of Adventure4.Saw-The ride: Thorpe Park5.Nemesis- Alton Towers6.Kumba-Busch Gardens7.Revenge of the Mummy or whatever its called: Universal studios8.Simpsons Ride: Universal Studios9. Gwazi- Busch Gardens10. Expedition Everest11. Big thunder mountain railroad- Disneyland resort Paris12. Tower of terror- Walt Disney world Florida
