  1. I think it was last year on a friday in August when I went when it rained really bad. here is what I remember of the day:POSITIVES-getting a huge ride count due to hardly anyone turning up because of the weather itself-getting soaked on Rush? (rain :) lol)-when the rain stopped, Stealth started launching again and then there waas a queue of about 15 mins for the rest of the day. (adding to the ride count I got)NEGATIVES-Saw had 4 breakdowns with intervals of 15 mins each. So a 40 minute (advertised) queue turned into a 90 minute queue, which I was in-wet lunch-wet everything else-Colossus was on one train at one point, and Stealth was closed for 4 hours until 2pm.-5 other small rides / flats were shut but I forgot which ones they wereSo yeah, you may experience something similar to what I did. With a prediction of heavy rain on friday, of course :P Chris :DEDIT: looking at what james has said, I remember that we were warned of getting injured on Rush, which turned out to be false because it was really run in the rain :D

  2. EDIT: (to ryan)Do you think?I'm not too sure on the Saw Alive.I thought everyone may be wanting to get on it first. look how popular fright night is.......but thats only once a year. I dont know, maybe your right ^_^ the season hasnt started yet, we'll have to wait and see what the response is from the public

  3. hmmmm........Just random guesses here but I'm roughly guessing the park would be busy.(because of the rush after the closed period)(bearing in mind its a saturday as well),AVGSaw: Alive-1-1 and a half hrsSaw-70-80 minsColossus-60 minsNemesis-30-60 minsStealth 40 mins-1hrChris ^_^

  4. 30/10/09 Trip ReportWow, is all I can say really. Friday was probably the most fun I've had at Thorpe Park despite the pretty rubbish ride count we got. This time I went with 3 of my friends, and then met up with 5 more at lunch. But firstly, we got there at about 11 (missing all the short queues) and got in a 30 minute queue for Nemesis. Was a really good ride, and got to know one of my friends better in the queue, I didn't know him quite well before but because of all the queueing we did today we were just talking all the time :) Then, I know this is insane, but I was dragged into the 2 hour Colossus queue at about 11:45. Don't know if any of you saw it, but it had filled up all the extensions and had filled out of the entrance. But I really enjoyed it for some reason, I just clicked when we went under the sign and was just having fun with my mates. (I also listened to 2 and a half albums on my friends ipod touch, and after that we were just mucking around with the apps.I think we got lunch after that at pizza hut, out of the 15 times I had been there this year I had'nt got the chance but on friday I did go in and ate 3 whole pizzas. I'm not joking. After waiting 2 hours for Colossus, I was starving and to be honest, an all-you-can-eat buffet is great in that situation I was in.We all were a bit full after that so we went round taking pictures and blah blah blah, and then out of the blue, I got the urge to go on tidal wave. With all the other rides reaching the 60 minute mark, a nice 5 minute queue for TW just calmed me right down and got me drenched, obviously. It was working on 1 boat, just to let you know, and after we went on it I think they had to let people go on it with the boat on maximum capacity, as there would be no point letting just 3 or 4 people on at a time, probably to save power or whatever, I'm not sure. After that it was about 3:30 so we ran over to the asylum and got in the queue. We started just where the first cattle pen ends and goes to that 'connecting point' with the next one. Despite being this close, we waited an hour and 20 minutes and oh my god, it was worth it.For 2 reasons:1. It was probably the best maze there, and I just got freaked out by all the actors, every time, never fails.2. At the end we were confronted by Mr. Chainsaw. He charged at us, but the men in front of our group were deaf (yes, you read that correctly) so they couldn't hear him charging towards us. So at the end it ended up in a huge crowd and Mr. Chainsaw caught my friend on the back with the chainsaw! Afterwards she noticed a red mark or a 'dent' as she put it, so we went to the mediacal centre and to compensate us theygave us all a saw fastrack each, even though they had sold out by midday! Result!!So we skipped a 3 hour queue or whatever it was and then went on the remaining water rides we hadn't done just to wastetime. It was so funny on Rumba Rapids, I took out my sandwiches and started eating them, then somehow it turned into a massive food fight and lets just say the people who got on our little boat thingy next would be faced with cheese and pickle :P At the end we went on rush. It was awesome in the dark, the extremely short view I got of nemesis, stealth and detonator was awesome, and after waiting about 40 minutes I needed some adrenaline pumping. So yeah, by this point it was about 9:30 and so we went back to the entrance and went home.Awesome day :D RC:Nemesis Inferno x1Colossus x1Saw x1 Tidal Wave x1The Asylum x1Loggers Leap x1Banana Boat x1Rumba Rapidsx1Rushx1

  5. Just to update and everything, yesterday I went with friends from school and we only went on 8 rides.Sure, we could of got on a lot more if it wasn't for them getting food every 10 minutes but the queues were the biggest ive seen in a long time.PEAK:saw-2.5 hoursColossus-100 minsnemesis-90 minsSTEALTH WAS SHUT AGAIN! 6. I don't know if anyone has noticed but on the TP website it says in a red banner at the top that the tickets have nearly run out for the 30th and 31st of October.I'm not sure if this is a selling technique or real facts, but either way I'm not looking forward to the queues tomorrow. :) Oh well, I'm still bursting with excitement :)

  7. Saturday 24/10/09 Trip ReportMy first fright night!!!RC:Nemesis x4(1 in dark)Colossus x2(1 in dark)Saw x2(1 in dark)Samurai x2(1 in dark)Loggers LeapRush x2VortexDepth ChargeFlying FishZodiac x2(1 in dark)Banana BoatThe Curse Horror MazeRumba Rapids20 rides, 1 maze. Pretty Decent considering I was expecting it to be much busier. :) At about 3:45 we started to queue for Hellgate. But half an hour later, it had technical failures and the queue was solid for another half hour. By that point we decided to call it quits and left the queue, and headed for the Curse. This queue was advertised as 1 hour, but we got in in about 45 minutes :P I will not speak about theming etc because I dont want to spoil other peoples experiences, but needless to say it was absolutely fantastic and I was desperate to do the asylum..........but by this point it had a queue of 2 hours. And my brother didnt want to queue that long for a similar experience to the one we just had back at Curse. So me and my group went around and took pictures of rides in the dark (it was about 6:30 by now) then we did Colossus, Nemesis and Saw fastracks in the dark and ate our dinner on Rumba Rapids. One thing I did forget to mention was that we did Saw single rider at about 5pm. We went up the stairs, etc, then when we got to the station the guy who was putting people on the rides told us that single rider was not in operation. But he decided to let all four of us on the same car as he didnt want to make a big fuss of it!Result! Most of the things mentioned up there were good points, but some of the bad points were:--Smokers. They think they can get away with it just because its dark and because they think theyre more supreme than everyone else. Well theyre not. -Stealth was shut. :D All day! (shock horror). (this is one of the reasons I am going on Friday as well)-We could only stay till half eight because my family and myself were going to Devon at 7am the next morning. So yeah, thats about it and if you have any queries about queue times, etc please feel free to ask!! :)

  8. With regards to the comment made about everyone viewing everyone elses answers, I have devised an elegant solution :) Matt could come up with some questions, post it on this topic, and everyone has a deadline to answer them by.But instead of posting answers on here, we could send our individual amswers to him privately, then he could update this topic with the real answers and all of our scores.I also think we should have a leaderboard to see who has won the most quizzes in terms of the most questions answered correctly. For example:1. Themeparkmad Score:12/12 2. Stealth888 Score:8/123-4-5-.....and so on.(or something like that)and with every quiz completed, the leaderboard could be updated.working progress>>sound good? :)

  9. as you're talking about estimates I thought I might contribute :P I'm going saturday 24th, unfortunate yes, but its the only day I can go :P my estimates around 4pm-8pm (peak)Saw-180-200minsColossus-120-150minsStealth-120-140minsNemesis-90 minsRush-120 minsSamurai-60-70mnsAsylum-150-180minsCurse, hellgate, se7en-90-120 mins.Rough estimates^^^what does everybody else think?

  10. okay, fine, ihave read what you guys said and I'm starting to think igot the wrong idea. It's just that on the day I went the Saw ride team were doing really well to get the dispatches done on time, and I just thought mabye that was normal. They seemed not pressured at all, they were calm and maybe I just went on a day which was relatively quiet.Sorry if I misunderstood you, mark, I just dont have the experience and hopefully I will when I apply for a job there.I have to agree that it looks like a repetitive job, and the operators look bored out of thier minds sometimes. When I said 'time of thier lives' I was talking about the staff whos jobs do involve 'guest contact' so to speak, and so that is the area I would like to work in.Of course, you have worked in the situations we have discussed so maybe your views are somewhat different to mine (I.e.you may be sick of the sight of a loading station, I could be bubbling with excitement on my first day)<just giving a point there. :P

  11. 1. Tell me, Stealth888, have you ever had to run a single rider queue line before? 2. When you are 16/18, I'd like to see you do a batch position that deals with a single rider queue line, and then tell me it's just sending people up some stairs.

    1. No, I haven't.2. I take into account that you have managed queues, but I was talking about Saw, and I agree, some of the other queues like Stealth and Colossus can be harder because you're not separating groups as easily as Saw, but I was talking about Saw and in my opinion, and judging by the amount of times I have used it, it looks pretty simple to me and at the end of the day, why should it have to be hard for the ride team? Their working at a Theme Park, they should be having the time of their lives.
