  1. Dont even go there.April was bad enough, when I went back then, I overheard the fastrack queue reaching about 30-40mins long! for fasttrack! But single rider on fright night, possibly may be up until the actual normal queue time.

  2. Woah, a loop on Stealth?!?Thats crazy! Many first timers are scared of the height and acceleration, let alone a loop to go with it!I think that if it did have a loop, it would only attract thrill seekers like us who have been on it a zillion times. We take it for granted now but just think backto how scared you were first time on it. I nearly chickened out after waiting nearly 3 hours first time I went on it.But I think maybe a small overbank-turn at the end would be pretty cool.

  3. trip report 27/09/09Pretty cool day today, it was quite funny because on friday I was like, where shall igo on sunday? hmmm...thorpe park! So, it worked out really well considering I only just thought about going on friday  I went with my younger brother, who hadn't been for a WHOLE MONTH (shock horror muchly),and he was really desperate to go.We arrived at 9:40, with 20 mins to spare before the gates opened at 10am. We originally thought we should go to Colossus first, but Saw had already opened by the time we got to the entrance so we thought we might as well get the 10 min queue there.Procceeded to Colossus, got a surprisingly smooth ride (somethings changed about it) and then to Stealth, with a nice 10 min queue. Next up was Nemesis, went by like a flash sitting at the back. (but still overly-addictive)My brother wanted to go on detonator as both of us hadn't been on it in ages. (so we did)Zodiac and Vortex were next, making myself and my brother a bit queezy so we went back to Canada Creek to wind down on Loggers Leap. To this day I still enjoy that ride as much as Stealth. The next rides were a bit random, but was forced onto Tidal Wave as England had a heatwave and it reached 20 degrees (lol), and went on Detonator again, this time my groinal area (I'll keep it at that! ) being crushed by the tight restraint the ride host had subjected me to. (bastard). If you've glanced at my RC already, your probably wondering how I got 7 Saw rides in. Answer: Single Rider queue. Not once did I wait over 5 mins, and on one of the occasions they let me and my brother in together! result!Another good point is the Saw ride team were working hard to reduce the queue time in general. Dispatches were running as normal, but the queue management was prompt and I praise them for that. I overheard that a Q advertised as 45 mins turned out to be 35. Not bad but still less.Bad point: Smokers. Lots of them. Whenever I smell tobacco smoke, it reminds me of being in any queue in lost city, a prime example being Colossus. This is very sad because I dont want to remember Thorpe for its smokey smell. Also, it was sadenning seeing a group of about 10 primary school kids being treated to second-hand smoke. (rant over ;) )RC:-Saw x7Colossus x2Stealth x1Nemesis x1Detonator x2Zodiac x2Vortex x2Slammer x2Loggers Leap x1Tidal Wave x1And for all you enthusiasts who want up-to-date info, here are the Q times-PEAKsaw-70 minsColossus-80 minsnemesis-45stealth-45samurai-60 minsrush-45detonator-30AVERAGEsaw-50 minsColossus-40nemesis-15-20stealth-20samurai-20rush-20detonator-15hope you enjoyed reading :D (you better have, it took me half an hour!) (jokes)

  4. going on Sunday! should be a blast- it will be my 13th time this year  Going to try to get 30 rides done, I have yet to achieve this!My plan (which may work):Colossus x2Stealth x3Nemesis x4Rush x2Zodiac x2Vortex x2Saw SR x5Detonator x1 (if I do it twice in a row it makes me feel sick. ironically the only ride which does nowadays!)Stealth for the rest of the day (probably aiming for around 10 more rides)Saw at the end.32 rides there.Yes, I'm doing it in that order.

  5. As I can't predict the future, I cannot tell you the exact times. But judging by the past reports back from my mates from school and on here, I would probably suspect the big 4 to not reach over 30 mins, flats reaching a maximum of 20 mins and all other rides 10 minutes all day. These are approximations, so if they are longer please dont blame me lol :) Yeah, but those would probably be the absolute maximums I would have thought.

  6. I could happily wait 90 mins for Stealth, as it is my favourite ride anyway plus I never get bored of WWTP! :) WWTP for the win! :)But I agree with you ross, nowadays I never usually wait more than 30 mins.Saws queue is so boring now. I could easily wait 90 mins for stealth, but not for saw.

  7. Better question - why not? :)

That is my moral in life :) What you said about staff paying attention, the longest we waited on a SRQ was about 5 mins (we were the only ones in it) and this ride Attendant had mixed up a group of 9 with a group of 5, so as you could imagine, one car had 8 out of the 9 people from the first group and the other guy was left stranded with the 5 from the other group! Jeez, common sense, he only had to split the 9 up into 3 groups of 3 and put on 3 single riders to join each of them.Simples :)
  8. TBH from what I saw SRQ slowed down the rides dispatch times

I have to say I dont agree with that.I went in SRQ about 3 or 4 times one day and not one of those was under 5 mins waiting. The ride assistant was asking how many people there were (to the people in the main queue arriving at the station), and if there was an odd number (say, 3) then he would immediately put a single rider in with that group in the station.(Likewise with groups of 7; 4 and 3, plus a SR)(before you say, yes I know that is they key idea :) )I don't see how the dispatches got slower, in my opinion they stayed pretty much the same.Maybe the managing of queues added time to the queues (I'm talking only seconds), but certainately not the dispatches.
  9. I went on Sunday and on Samurai a coin flew past my face just as we were rolling down the trees, I was pretty scared! took me a while to realise what it was, but after the ride my friend goes-'did you see that coin fall out that guys pocket?'So yeah, thats pretty much what happened on Sunday, apart from now the new queue board system is f****d up and we only just got our 21 ride count, which was lucky considering we were guessing all the queue times pretty much all day long.

  10. New queing system sucks. I reallly hope it's only temporary.

It is. My friends mum overheard a staff member tell this other guy that they are just testing them out, to see if it makes other people's days 'easier'.Now, am I wrong, or does running from Rush to Stealth expecting an under 30 minute queue and getting there to realise its actually about 40 mins sound 'easy'?Absolutely not.I'm glad its only temporary, and I hope Thorpe gets a truck load of complaints telling them to sort it out.I will defo complain.(sorry for the rant :P )
  11. Because of the new queue time system, I found it quite hard to judge queues like Colossus and Stealth (unless of course, I was in one)Colossus was about 5mins for the first half hourSaw was 5 mins at first then went up to '3MINS' (60+)Nemesis was pretty much 15 mins all day apart from when the management made a mistake and put code three on the boards. Unlikely! :P Stealth-10 mins in the morning but then 30 mins all day after that. All flats under 30 mins, Samurai went up to about 45 mins (we waited in that one)Loggers Leap and all water rides walk-ons all day (depth charge we waited 20 mins)PEAK:Colossus: I guess around 60 minsSaw: 60 minsStealth: 40 minsSamurai:40 minsEverything else was under half an hour. (Therefore my pretty decent ride count :P )

  12. Report 13/09/09Today was awesome! :D Didn't beat target of 30 rides, but what the hey.Today was quieter than last time but was really confusing. Why's that Chris?Well, I'll tell you.Thorpe have brought in a new queue time system which, frankly, I dont see the point in doing. It consists of 3 codes, like so-1MIN=quiet (>30 mins)2MINS=moderate (30 -60mins)3MINS=Busy (60 mins+)This caught my attention at about 10:30 as I didn't understand why Saw had a 3 minute queue :P (You could have probably guessed my excitement and then sadness when I walked into the queueline to find a lovely 60 min+ queue in front of me). This would of probably confused many first timers, and plus the fact, you dont know when it is either a 35 minute queue or a 55 min queue (giving number 2 as an example).Other than that, I had a great time, this time going with my friend Luka.Fitted in 21 rides, adding to my top 5 visits (out of 13)RC:-Colossus x2Nemesis x3Stealth x4VortexZodiac x3SamuraiLoggersSaw x3 (twice going in the single rider queue, 5 mins each!)Depth Charge (raced my friend down to the bottom, I won! Victory!)Slammer (hurt very much!)Flying Fish (for the lols)I have a new love: Saw Single Rider queue!Unfortunately, my friend hates single rider so we only got 2 in. I reckon we could of got at least 5 or 6 more.Awesome day!Bad points: We got there and it had already opened, although advertised as 10am on the website. Chavs Smokers Queuejumper in Stealth queue (got about halfway before he was stopped by a group of people) Chavs Cramp in legs now Chavs 3 rides closed whilst we were in the lines, so we left all of them. (Bad move as they all opened again within 5 mins of us leaving the queue! ChavsGood points:Single Rider Saw saved me waiting '3MINS' :P Stealth x4 Burger King Chips Great Ride Count DONUTS!!!!!!!!!!!Overall really good day but now I'm knackered. :P:P
