No. They have a drop ride. I wonder how tall the new drop is going to be. Saying 3 storeys is quite deceptive. The progress they're making is quite impressive. However, they've only made it public for a whole that they're building; it's obviously been going on a lot longer than they've made out it to seem.

...which is why Vengeance is deemed a flop and not moving! Plus there was a very dangerous accident with it once, but that's another story! Glad you had a nice time!

The photo at the start is what slows everything down. It's a shame, really - but it must be a good money maker for them. I wonder if the boat ride will have a photo op, (like it used to) - as Blackpool doesn't have a boat ride.

You just turn up with your friend at your friend's booked time slot. For future - any guest of a MAP holder doesn't need to pre-book at a time slot, and you can both get in the priority entrance. If you're there to buy a MAP (or exchange vouchers) just tell them at the front, and they'll also let you in to the ticketing area to do this. I hope you have a horrible time.

It's still bigger than the current Dungeon site, however - and it on three different levels. Wonder how many photo ops the new dungeon will have...

I love the detailing of the floor. Never noticed if Tooley Street had this... and I was only there on Saturday! They're going to have water dripping from the ceiling, apparently - and rain and temperature effects in the Jack the Ripper Streets. Sounds pretty epic to me!

Is there a larger than life Chimney Sweeper? If there's no fog - that's cause for complaint? Is it even cold in there? Oh dear... Still, I guess they've got no money left! Is the audio track using the same binaural technique as Todd did?
-
Knowing them, it'll be in the medieval entrance area walkthrough and they've just left the smoke machine on and the windows open :-P
-
Is there any reason why they won't have Tomb Blaster open?
-
Might the turning room be a behind-the-scenes room? Something like a room where the boat turns from back-facing to front-facing?

I am on an iMac using Safari - and when I click the links kindly provided above, I get a Microsoft Error - so that may just be a "fake" error message. Sneaky. No reason why Vengeance shouldn't be operating. It'll cease operation on Jan 31st.

These don't work either.

Fascinating documents, by the way. I love that the British public get easy access to all these! Really makes one appreciate the true effort that's going on here. This must've been going on for years. Rumour has it, they've bought the whole of County Hall, and Tussauds is next...

The final link isn't working. Can anyone be bothered to come up with an order of events. The plans are very hard to read! I think it's: Elevator to Doom (Fun!) Boat Ride .... Don't know how you make your way from the boat ride back up from sub-basement level to basement. Doesn't the drop ride bring one down to sub-basement level? So confusing!

I don't see that happening, really. If they really wanted to keep the storyline - they would've decided to move it. My guess is in listener feedback, the reviews they've got have been negative, so that's why they're not moving it.

The dungeon have confirmed that Vengeance will not be going to the new location... I really can't see it going to a main stream park... the through-put is simply not good enough. I can actually see it being quite fun at somewhere like Sea Life - they could create a 4D spinning movie attraction (without shooting, obviously) where you go through a virtual ocean - or something...
-
I can't see it being anything else but themed... they have bare walls to work with :-) Should look amazing.
-
Guess we will find out in early 2013.

I don't think the location really matters (other than ease of access) as you're in a fake environment anyway. The arches were dreadful because you'd look up and see the arches; the train rumbling wasn't good because it was shake light and projection fixtures and the sound leaking was dreadful - and would often reveal surprises along the way. This move is 100% needed and will improve the attraction ten-fold, if only to make it new to EVERYONE again.
-
York's pretty quiet! :-D Bad taste, I know. They'd have to re-do a film entirely to fit the location. For all we know, it might be going to London...

The corridor of misdemeanours is the indoor queue area.

I've never seen any amazing theming at Six Flags... ever. Just... concrete. Whilst their rides are good at entertaining one for the duration of the attraction - they don't leave a lasting impact. I STILL look forward to entering the Vampire's castle, the vault in Hex or Jigsaw's warehouse. As far as I'm concerned, AIR is the only flying coaster worth riding; it was the first in the world and doesn't go over a parking lot.

Interesting review; glad you enjoyed it! I think it's quite similar to what they've been doing at the Dungeons - and borrows a lot of their tricks. Whilst it reminded me of it - I wouldn't say it rivals Alien Encounter - as that was truly a groundbreaking experience. The animatronic figure in AE alone put it way ahead of anything the UK has ever done. Such a shame that ride is no longer with us. I too was pleasantly surprised by the ride - and I knew a fair bit about what would happen. I got sprayed, blew at, poked, prodded, yelled and barked at - bit like a great night out, really!
-
and no theming. Surprise surprise!
-
Yes - but remember the theme park tickets are cheap because 1) They charge anywhere between $10 and $20 to park (we don't) 2) Six Flags charge you (when I went) $1 per ride to store your items in a locker (otherwise you were not let on a ride) 3) $8 - $10 for a slice of pizza And all these prices are before sales tax! Whilst their rides are okay, Six Flags' parks make Merlin parks look like GOLD when it comes to cost and theming!
