Given it has at least 8 loops, I think the idea of this turning out better than Th13teen is a given...!

The ride is definitely 16 per train. It is on the Alton press site. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 by Tapatalk

Based on FN2011 and Scarefest this year, Scarefest wins. The mazes are longer, with more actors, and they are usually far better scripted. Effects are often better, too. I can think of positives about TOTT, Sanctuary and Carnival - whereas for Thorpe's mazes, only E10 really stands out as superb.

I am not sure it's entirely accurate that these will be the same as Saw's cars. I was under the impression these will be two of them joined together, I.e. 16 per ride.

Amazing. Coming in 2014. These Mack coasters are really taking off. I just don't know why. Bloofi

The original date for track arrival was *rumoured* to be October 1st. I say rumoured, because this date hasn't obviously been put out by Alton Towers, however a lot of staff have given this date. Obviously, this was last week. Concrete will be arriving on site this week and, after that, trackwork can begin. However, I checked in Car Park J today, and scanned minibus and other car parks, for signs of track, but there appears to be none on site yet - unless it's being hidden somewhere. That's unlikely, though - the Th13teen track was held on Car Park J prior to construction.

From what I know, it is going to be a very long, scripted, interactive maze which has taken the vast bulk of the 2012 SF budget.

The Sanctuary is going to be a fantastic 'prequel' to SW7! Really looking forward!

If Nemesis Inferno was anywhere near as intense as Nemesis sitting on the back right hand side, I would be suprised. The force which is placed upon riders sat at the back right on Nemesis is very, very intense indeed - especially later in the day. Nemesis Inferno is a perfectly acceptable rollercoaster, but out of the 10 B&M Inverts I have been on, I hate to say it, but it's the least good.

But it doesn't matter if someone else beats it. What matters is that AT have a decent, legacy building coaster that appeals to the market and will satisfy people for decades to come - much like Nemesis. I'd rather that than a Th13teen situation.

The fact of the matter is, forget world firsts. This ride is clearly going to be the most substantial looping coaster ever installed in the UK. I use the substantial with regards to the depth of theming and the length of the ride. It's what Alton Towers has been waiting for, for 19 years.

Just a bit of an update regarding www.towersstreet.com! - The main website now has a BETA park guide, which was recently launched, with lots of galleries and information regarding Alton Towers. - We've managed to reach 500 facebook followers; and hope to continue to develop through useful information plus regular park updates and comments. Also, watch out for our 'Talbot Street Tuesday' post, where anyone with a keen interest in the history of AT will find something! View our FB page: http://www.facebook.com/TowersStreet - Our 3rd community event takes place at Alton Towers from 20-21 October, and all are welcome. We're incredibly grateful to the support from everyone over the past few months, including many from TPM.

I actually think that face popping up will be quite scary for some people!! Anyway - to the point! I was at AT today, and it was probably the quietest day on park since May, with our longest wait just 20 minutes for Air (although some queues were slightly longer than this during the day). Spent a bit of time looking over the SW7 site, and it's looking ever so "ready" for something. It looks cleaner and more organised, so I think we're going to get some action soon. It really is an enormous area - it's amazing how small you 'think' it is- but in actual fact, it's a hefty size! Very excited, now. Those eerie smiley faces are everywhere on park.

What, you haven't used the free parking?

I look forward to seeing the Scarefest Map. This will hopefully have a graphic or two on it.

General video clip released by the park:

It is most exciting. SW7 sounds like it's going to be weird! Plus, it's nice that the ride isn't going to be themed to a monster of some form, a la Swarm, Krake, Raptor.

I have posted the same feelings elsewhere - this would be terrible news. From a personal point of view, Mouse is one of the few genuine reasons to go to the Pleasure Beach. I don't know many people who go for their steel coasters because, aside from Avalanche, there are far better examples of similar rides elsewhere. However, with the wooden coasters, even though modern woodies are superb, there's nothing quite like the sensation of riding the Mouse, or National. Indeed, these two rides, along with Valhalla, are probably the stand out physical rides in the whole park.

Every day at EP is 6pm. However, they extend opening depending on footfall (this is done nearly every Saturday and Sunday, and every day in holiday periods). Today, for example, was 7.30pm (Sunday, 23rd September). This is announced from 2pm via the EP app, the top right hand corner of the EP website, noticeboards in the park, in the stations of major coasters, and via people on rollerskates holding up signs. During 26th October-4th November, it's "Hell Week" - I.e. the final week of main season. There will be additional events on - such as the evening Halloween light parade, DJ Bobo concert and fireworks and mediavel markets. Since the concert is on at around 7pm. you can expect ride close to be 6.30pm/7.00pm or later if its busy. The 31st involves a special party after the park closes which is charged extra and is basically a club night with some rides (a little like a higher-brow version of Ride & Rave at TP). The 31st is typically very busy - last year, all rides stayed open till 9pm. I am at EP from 29th Oct to 1 Nov myself, really looking forward to it. Here's the horror nights official trailer!

These logo's appear to have crept up EVERYWHERE en route from the park entrance to X Sector! http://www.towersstreet.com/talk/future-discussion/secret-weapon-7-discussion/705/

According to the plans, it will not. However, there is no indication about what happens inside the building, before lift 1. You can watch a re-created simulation of the ride: http://sw7.towersstreet.com/recreation/ There are also plans on there, which will show you there's no beyond vertical drop outside.

Tripsdrill have an Anubis clone opening, too.
-
You'd have to buy the Saw Double then, and then the extra for The Passing? Total around £25?
-
Apart from the fact that the queues at Thorpe Park move so slowly, due to fastrack sales! I agree that Inferno's queueline has got a cool ambience about it.

Facts we know: - Scientific Analysis facility from the 1950s - Some sort of Sanctuary - Ministry of Joy It could be called "The Ministry" or just "Ministry"?
