Ah, got them mixed up. How is Funland nowadays? I must visit next year, haven't been for two years

I think it's a KMG afterburner, as there used to be one at Funland, Hayling Island called Tornado. Brilliant rides, and much more intense than the Vortex style ones.

Short cycle lengths are poor when the prices are so high, but you don't want the other extreme either - I remember once at Fun City, Brean they left X-treme on for about 20 minutes (literally)!

Has anyone heard any more news on their 2015 development? To be honest I'm quite worried about what sort of state Oakwood is going to be in next year. Aspro seem to have no idea how to run or maintain a theme park, and it's sad to see it going downhill so quickly - hopefully they will turn things around next year!

The comments on their Facebook page sum up how people feel about the changes being made. There are some things that you can't defend.

Charging too much for things? Like £49.50 for a day ticket to Thorpe. Money grabbing, but not misleading.And people aren't going to moan when they get to pay less than the normal renewal price - the issue is that the renewal price has been raised in this so called "sale.". I still think that it should be less than buying a new pass as well.

Yes, maybe once the stresses of A - levels are over I will be able to do this, however at the moment it's not all that easy to travel so far to visit these parks. Thorpe is 40 minutes down the road, to put it into perspective. However, I do escape Merlin quite often as I visit Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which I enjoy far, far more than the Merlin parks as well as smaller parks like Fun City, Brean and Oakwood (although sadly Oakwood has gone the same way as Merlin now, if not worse). The difference is that some companies do it honestly. Merlin are just misleading customers here, and it's very underhand.

But what about people who like the parks, but hate the way they are run and how Merlin con customers? (Like me). I still enjoy visiting their parks but their ever increasing money-grabbing tactics take a lot of the enjoyment out of them. The frustrating thing is that they would be brilliant parks in the right hands.

It costs £10 to get your pass reprinted (but I think it has to be from the place you purchased it, unless they have updated their systems now) however I would recommend explaining that it was a poor print, as if there's any decency about them they shouldn't charge you.

If there is something that people don't agree with then why shouldn't they voice their opinion? What's the point of having a forum where people can only have a positive view? That's not really a forum at all then. Why is the renewal price the same as the normal one? Again this is taking perks away from the pass, as one of the advertised perks is reduced renewal rates however it is now the same price (and more than it was earlier in the year). Not on at all, you don't seem to get anything for being a loyal customer any more.

Yes the premium pass is good value, nobody can deny that, if there's one thing I like about Merlin it's the fact you can buy a pass that gets you into loads of attractions. However, the fact remains than an annual pass is an annual pass and there shouldn't even be a "premium" pass - an annual pass should do what it says on the title. Introducing a Thorpe Park "premium" annual pass with what should be on the pass anyway is just a joke.

That is not a "sale," I paid less to renew my pass to a premium back in October so the price has gone up. Very, very poor.
