  1. However, I wouldn't like to leave my backpack with my money, camera, mobile phone and air tickets (I'm from Poland) in the baggage areas. Some passenger can easily take it. What about the camera in my pocket?

Hi there; just to clarify what everyone else has said you have the baggage holds to use. I can guarantee to you that your items are completely safe within the baggage areas on available rides (SAW, Stealth, SWARM, X:/No Way Out) as a wristband is given to you upon depositing your items, and items cannot be returned without your wristband being handed back (this goes to the extent of if you lose it during the ride, we cannot give it back without security present to ensure it is your bag).

On other rides, such as Nemesis Inferno, Colossus, the non-coasters; the bag system is operated by a cupboard which means your possessions are left on shelving during your ride. On Nemesis and Colossus there is a door which is sealed over, meaning nobody (except those whom are on the same train as you) can access your belongings. As stated above, as a member of staff; I do work on rides with both baggage systems, and I can confirm that the system is secure, as it is staffed on the roller coasters.

Failing that, the lockers at Thorpe Park are as secure as any. My recommendation would be to use the yellow lockers, as Marc said, in the lower Dome which are the securest of all; or failing that there is £1 key-locked lockers available, which are equally safe, and you have nothing to worry about.

With regards to your camera, I would highly advise you don't take it on the ride. A lot of people lose loose items such as phones, cameras, and keys by taking them on board and Thorpe Park cannot stress enough to people to not take loose items onboard rides. Should your camera be dropped during the ride, whilst it would be retrievable at park closing time, Thorpe Park cannot hold responsibility should your camera get broken, or even lost within the ride area. Equally, if you do take a camera around your neck, rides staff will request that you remove the camera from your neck and place it into the available on-ride baggage storage facility (be it the cupboard, of staffed bag room).

    I hope this helps :)

  2. Anyone able to confirm the fate of the mazes actors yet by the way? Were there any of them walking around THE SWARM island today, or are they all absent? Do you think they were offered various jobs around the park instead?

They were made redundant, with a promised invite back for Fright Nights.

  3. Anybody got any idea why the entrance is also being used as the exit? It was very awkward squeezing past people on our way on/off the ride today...

Bit hard not to notice they were painting the queue line, when it was covered in tarpaulin sheets on the exit side...

  4. Never been in the maze; doubt I ever will.

For the record, photo is advertised on the website: CLICKY

I have to hold my hands up and say it was very hit and miss when I walked past it on my breaks; although I never saw it fill it's first extension, which was disappointing. I get asked a lot about SAW: Alive when it's closed, so I do feel that it is something guests will miss, but again, it was on a notable decline.

Personally, I'd rather see SAW: Alive revamped to something like, dare I say, Hocus Pocus Hall. With animations and a walk through without the actors based around SAW. That way I feel it could appeal to more people, including myself, but it's just a suggestion.

Shame it's going for now; but bring on Fright Nights I guess. Peak time for SAW: Alive! :)

  5. I voted no.

Solely because there's one at Chessington, and Towers. And they're great rides... at them parks. Rameses I rate highly as a Chessington ride; but I wouldn't want one at Thorpe because it isn't a ride I'd particularly see as "popular" or go with the thrilling line up of what's already there. Not unless it was something daft like standing, floor less, back-to-back top spin; and even then, maintenance would be ridiculous.

  6. I would put my money to say it'd be down to the train not being ready; and it would have been pre-planned before the gates were even opened for the day. Also, it's not down to staff to put the trains on or off; the Engineers do it.

  7. According to the site, they're planning to reopen tomorrow.Love a quote I read from PBE on Facebook whilst I'm at it...

Pleasure Beach ExperienceThe weather has been horrible today, but unlike Alton Towers, Pleasure Beach managed to stay open all day and did not disappoint their paying customers. Will you be visiting the Pleasure Beach over the Easter period? If you do, have a good time!

Stayed open because, oh yeah, there's no trees to fall down in the wind and potentially be a H&S concern? Also want to quote Luke

Was on Pleasure Beach today and had a brilliant day, all queues were very small if there were any, and Revolution is looking nice now some of it's scaffolding is off. The wind was very strong though, so no surprise PMBO was closed all day.

All the queues were very small? I wonder why that is. Weather? Rip-off ticket prices? Or the fact its a- hole. ;)
  8. Well I just went on a topscan at the traveling fair circuit called Funderworld here in Bristol

;) FUNDERWORLD'S BACK?!Are they travelling again or is it a one-off in Bristol? Used to love going a few years back when they called to Colchester, Essex. Used to be open until the early hours and was an epic night every year
  9. The Pleasure Beach was VERY quiet today, so quiet that The Big One was running one train, and only had approximately a 2-train wait which worked out to be around 5 mins waiting time.

And then there's Thorpe which hit just short of 10,000 as I heard it today (in contrast, a lot)
  10. Someone said to me today this is the next ride outlined for removal, potentially any time from the end of this year. Not sure how believable this is though

  11. Saw and Colossus have queueline shops?

Yes, SAW has it in the second extension (beyond the cattle pen, tucked right in the corner) and Colossus has it as you come through the tunnel the second time. SAW's doesn't yet have anything more than a basic till system, but I presume it will be upgraded.
  12. Definitely got on programme 6 when I last went on samurai a week or so ago.

You can't have done, it physically cannot handle the cycle anymore and the Operator would get a disciplinary if they ran it (apparently) on cycle 6. You must have had cycle 5, although it has been pretty intense as of late...
  13. This is coming from the guy who went.... "oh that wasn't rough at a....OUCHHHH" on Saw. He's in denial. Too distracted by the Saw IP. :)

Well I won't comment on what it did to me this morning haha. But yeah, it can OCCASIONALLY be rough but nothing on Colossus. I come off Colossus and have to sit down and crack my back, back into place :P
  14. I'd say do them both because both are very different thrills and often, very different "roughness" on different people. I find Colossus close to unbearable, yet SAW one of Thorpe's smoothest coasters; and other's are quite the opposite, or are like Jack and are in-between. Give them both a go, they're both great rides! :)

  15. Thing is, the roughness varies between each ride which is strange, maybe some cars are more susceptable to roughness.

I find weight balance can sometimes make an impression. When we have test rides in the morning; it's the smoothest I've ever experienced SAW, and the same is notable when it's first thing or last thing and there's two people in a car (like major off-peak, I have a picture to prove it) :PSounds daft, might just be my mind; but yeah, the lighter the car weight the smoother I find it :oAND I just wanted to post this :)Posted Image
