  1. Self harm can be very addictive but fortunately, the cycle can be broken. I used to do it regularly and ended up in A&E twice. I guess as I've got older I realised that it wasnt really helping. I think I did it to cope with stress/anxiety. It is quite a secretive behaviour but once people know you can get help. People that self harm just need a bit of support and to not be judged but ultimately you cant stop them from doing it if they really want to - if someone wants to self harm it is their choice and you shouldnt feel bad about it. It is fairly common and more talked about these days which reduces some of the stigma surrounding it.Hope that your friend gets the help that she needs

  2. I hated school with a passion - I left 15 years ago and was so bloody happy on the last day. Then went on to spend 4 years at college trying to work out what I wanted to do with my life and ended up doing an advanced GMVQ in IT but ended up getting booted out due to crap attendance (down to depression) - oh well, at least I got a decent trip out of the course - disneyland paris :mellow:My school seemed to love the students who were super intelligent - everyone else, like me they didnt bother with!!

  3. My best friend's friend, passed away from cancer today :) cruel world, I hate you. I don't even know what to say to my friend.

So sorry to hear of this. It isnt a nice situation to be in - it is a cruel world that we live in and cancer is vile. Best thing you can do is listen to your friend if he wants to talk and just be there for him/her for support.
  4. People walking all over me because, basically I am as soft as a turd and find it difficult to say no. need to be more assertive but I like to treat other people how I want to be treated but some people blatantly take the piss. Its not enough that my mum is seriously ill. Oh, you want your cats looked after? yeah ok and how about I buy their food for them aswell because you havent left enough. You want help with decorating? Sure! Ive got nothing better to do with my time. Oh and today, my neighbour who I barely know asked me to lend her £10. Think I am more fricking angry at myself. I swear I have MUG written on my face somewhere. This post might sound bitchy but I am so frigging exhausted with everything and.....well it is a RANT thread! :) And cancer - evil evil nasty horrible disease that I would not wish on my worst enemy. We need to find a cure

  5. I believe there have been two mini/ crazy golf courses at the park, one during the 80s and then Jungle Zone Family Golf that opened in 1994. I think it was built where there used to be some slides coming down the side of the Dome and now Rush and Quantum stand in this area. It was a great little Jungle themed crazy golf course with lots of bamboo and Zebra print painted areas. I think it closed after the 2000 season.

YES!! I really thought I had imagined it - and I remember the slides coming down the side of the Dome. Think I played on the golf in 1990/91
  6. Yes Klondike is very very rough - didnt make me feel sick but I had a banging headache afterwards and thought I was going to lose an arm at one point! My sisters boyfriend went on with me and came off with huge bruises!XNWO - never again - how I didnt boff on that ride is a miracle! Thankfully I have never been sick ON a ride but after riding Fury in the rain one day, I came off and ran to a nearby grassy bit and boffed in a hedge - yum!

  7. I do love Chessington - such a great atmosphere and I am ok on all the rides (though not if Fury is spinning too much!) - Not been on Buccaneer because I would probably be very ill! Rameses didnt make me feel sick - I just wasnt keen on the tightness of the restraints!!I havent been to Thorpe since 2002 - the flat rides that I wouldnt go near would be Rush, Vortex, Eclipse, Quantum, Samurai and probably others. I would ride flying fish(!), Tidal Wave, loggers, rumba, storm surge, tea cups and would LOVE to try Colossus/nemesis. To be honest, I enjoy the whole atmosphere of a theme park and am not someone that has to be going on rides all the time. I know thorpe has changed a lot since I last went. Would just like to get over my anxiety a bit - only ever been on 2 inverted coasters - space mountain (DLP) and Klondike(?) at Hayling Island. Thanks for the replies guys!

  8. Hi guys, I suffer with panic attacks and have done on and off for the past 10 years. recently I had a setback and take diazepam when I go out. Anyway, I love theme parks but am a bit of a wuss when it comes to the bigger rides. I'm not great on spinny rides (vomited after dragons fury once!), love water rides and some rollercoasters. Biggest coaster I have been on is Space Mountain at DLP. I have a big fear of puking mid-ride - dont mind being sick after the ride but the thought of barfing on other people fills me with fear! Though saying that I was fine on Rameses Revenge! Also the anxiety before riding is very similar to a panic attack which probably puts me off. Anyway, I'm working towards conquering my panic and really want to go to Thorpe some time this year (not been since 2002!). Rides that I really want to try are Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Saw plus others. Just need a bit of feedback as to whether I am likely to boff up! As for the anxiety, well I will have to deal with that!Cheers!
