Slammer was on great form today, with the exception of obvious costs I have no idea what people have against it? I think it's a great ride and was very happy to get back on it today, with hardly any queues it was soaking up the people.

Am I missing something here, the park is closed near on 5 months a year, are they going back for that time? It can't be cost effective to keep them there even if the club nights continue over the close season. Security and Entertainment all seems more of a logistical nightmare rather than a "resort" experience?
  3. I will say when we were there at the beginning of the month, the 2 hour queue looked massive, but on single rider I got on within 5 minutes, batching was very good thank god as it was so hot, and the cattle pen queues are terrible.
  4. To be honest after returning from Port Aventura they do exactly the same throughout the day, granted whilst the park is open longer rides open late and close early, some only open at weekends this time of year! At 10am we had the option of Furious Baco, right by the entrance with an hour queue at 5 past, Rapids, Train and a few children's rides. Shambhala and Dragon Khan don't open until 11, with rides like Stampede, El Diablo, Log Flume and the drop tower not opening until 12. Whilst I don't want to defend Alton Towers for this, I think it could be a lot worse as a fair amount of rides will be open with the park.

I was there all day yesterday, no signs of the fire effects.
  6. It's annoying because the actual Madagascar area and stage is really good, the Jumbos look even more out of place from the Mine Train side as you just see this pink thing from over the fence!
  7. They don't look good... Not as bad as the sign on the Jungle Bouncers though, not sure what kinds of guests they are expecting on this one.http://themeuk.net/blog/wp-content/flagallery/changes-at-chessington/p1030920.jpg
