Interesting to note that the supports seem narrower in their diameter than other rides, no, I am not an engineer.

As it has been mentioned on a couple of posts, at Stealth yesterday I discussed with operators, as to why they had reverted to the original soundtrack? Apparently Health and Safety deemed the recent musical endeavours blocked the safety warnings, therefore less foot tapping, shame.

Benin, I understand your comment and agree, post Covid, and in every arena, people have become more selfish and standards, especially on roads, have deteriorated. Many at the Parks have become more insular within their groups.
No matter what you are involved in, stay aware and stay safe.

We perhaps all have a habitual awareness of our personal items when on rides, and everybody is encouraged to secure loose items. Yesterday whilst on a ride, yes it was Stealth, a twelve year old girl was injured by being struck by a mobile phone. She was on the front row, the loser of the phone was in row eight. That phone, allegedly, was in a teenagers zipped pocket. As we on this site, all understand that on the brake hill, the severe braking induces an opposite effect on gravity, with all loose items then being thrown forward. Sadly, the phone hit the girl on top of the head causing a cut, and I dare say, bruising, it took a while for the bleeding to stop.
Being an old "f" I tried to help 'cos the staff were busy with the ride operation. The girl had two mates of the same age, not in a school group, and with no adults, and one of those went into a shocked state.
First aider arrived then took the girls off the Medical.
A very sad event for the girls, but a reminder for us all to secure everything.

Apologies for the long and somewhat negative post, but I think a lot of these things can be overlooked by a lot of people based on being able to visit the park regularly and the passes being good value, but when there are other reasons for not being able to visit as often as before, the quality of a day out on park quickly diminishes.TLDR: Busy day, poor ride availability, rude staff, poor operations regarding both food and rides, fast track money grabbing, probably going to get rid of my merlin pass.
Tomathy, you really ought to write to the park with your comments. There certainly appear some valid points you make, and you and your friends are the customers. Never be afraid to express your displeasure or in fact, your pleasure . Don't expect anything in return but it is important to the operators.
I have always wished they could make it the staffs' aim to make everybody smile.
Thanks for your report.

If it fits your plans, leave the more popular rides until lunch time, and split your refreshments into two breaks, if you must eat.
Stealth today had consistent queues of over one hour. Likewise Nemesis Inferno.
There is apparently an app. to access on the phone giving q times, but don't ask this dinosaur for more details on that.
If you are visiting on your own, try to let the staff know, it can help. Enjoy your day.
As Tactic suggests, and especially if there are plenty of coach loads, leave some of your favourites until after 4p.m..

Thanks Josh, and others.
There was a single riders queue on the right hand stairs a few years back, before they designated that as a "disabled access".
The stories of Rita and Stea!th being designed as one ride have some truth. Height restrictions at AT and space at TP resulted in the split. Who else feels the the drop from the top hat has wasted power/potential? So many riders go on about getting a "rollback" yet in reality it's a waste of ride time, though for those who have stood in the queue it would be like getting a double ride.

Stealth SRQ is the new Tidal Wave fire effect.
Ha, ha! absolutely.

Their management also say a single rider queue is certain, but weeks have become months. All teams now have the headset communications therefore all team members seem to be in continual chit-chat mode.
-
Heard yesterday, on Stealth at the offload, "my teeth nearly came out of my head, and they're not even false". That was funny.

Leave any site long enough and it will become scientific interest. Look at Stonehenge, and they never even put the windows in.
-
Sadly, at least one fatality as an incident occurred on the Jetline coaster. Condolences to the family and friends, and hopefully those others injured will recover.

Settled into my seat on stealth next to a teenage girl, who promptly started screaming.........was it me? was it the ride?.......NO! there was a spider beside her foot.
Then sadly a little later, we took out two pigeons, ride closed for cleaning and engineers inspection;

I suppose we should accept the fact that the Park have to "test with a live audience", but it can be disappointing to be the guineapigs.
-
Yuk, rollbacks waste ride time, and require attendance of extra staff once it's been tested, to sign it off, and a distinct lack of g-force.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Oakwood was evacuated at 1pm today due to a “serious” (as per a BBC Wales source) incident on Treetops.
The incident happened this afternoon, the air ambulance were called, and one person has been taken to hospital. The HSE have already started an investigation.
There are eyewitness reports saying that someone was “ejected” from the ride, but these should be taken with a pinch of salt as there has been no official confirmation.
Live updates can be found here: https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/live-updates-air-ambulance-called-25335338?utm_source=wales_online_newsletter&utm_campaign=breaking_daily_newsletter2&utm_medium=email&pure360.trackingid={~TrackingId~}
My thoughts go out to those affected.
Fingers crossed for better news, hope the girl is uninjured though the stress will be bad enough.

It's official now innit. Bit cheeky for Merlin to phrase it like that though, implying that OMG Nemesis is closing 4 good!!111 - either the work experience social media admin did this, or it's done on purpose to get that sweet sweet footfall.
Also - Phalanx... return of Sub Terra confirmed? Or at least "a nod" and eAStEr EGg to Sub Terra....
Would be good to have another dark indoor ride back considering Hex seems to have thrown a wobbler all season. You cannot be serious?

As Josh said, SRQ cannot work with some rides but a few years back, Nemessis Inferno allowed singles to join from the exit side but this became complicated with increase in all the other pass holders.
Swarm is not easy as Fastracks will attest to when joining with at least six train loads still ahead.
Colossus again became complicated with the additional passholders waiting around the exit.
Difficult for staff on many occasions having to deal with various passholders when under pressure to maintain throughput.
-
That would be handy when Stealth has a rest.
-
Yesterday on Stealth as a single rider was directed by staff to join a woman and her two children, by using the single remaining seat, "oh I wanted that empty so the camera got me and the kids only!"

Is the Blair Rabbit’s Burrow ride that closed almost a decade ago SBNO? If it is retaining it is an utter waste. The ride could be rethemed or replaced with a large scale attraction. In other news Theme Park Worldwide posted a photo on Instagram of Bounce operational. This photograph was great to see the rides been SBNO for many years.
That burrow stuff seemed to disappear a few years ago, and that corner of the park always appears run down. The small coaster in there, Witches Brew is a manically rough ride. Bounce was going through all sorts of weird cycles but worth it. Speed was good though oddly no queue late morning and really hot weather.
As always with Oakwood some areas seem neglected and the pedal boat ponds are almost covered in algae. The waters of drenched though were very clean and welcome.

Park Music

It seems that during one night in the last week the Park audio systems were left on, all night, only to be turned off by staff arriving at 7a.m.. Complaints from neighbouring areas such as Chertsey have received an apology from the Park.
