  1. Each to their own, as with all rides. I personally have ridden the Heide Park Colossus and found it to be a great ride, with plenty of airtime; these large wooden coasters are "cathedrals" and it would be a shame to see that go.

TP's Colossus, a totally different beast, is a great ride and intense enough for a lot of people, and for those with strong neck muscles to keep the head against the restraint to avoid the ear banging.

Us enthusiasts are commonly labelled as 'stupid' and 'weirdos', so I thought it'd be cool to see how everybody did at school as I know a lot of you guys are probably actually extremely clever!

I myself got 6 A*s, 3 As and a B at GCSE and just found out today that I got 3 As at A levels! Not trying to brag but I am definitely not 'stupid'...

the 'weirdo' one is debatable though!

It's been a lot less effort being weird.

Are they still doing the 'no riding without an over 18 rule' on rumba, on my last visit during summer this caused me to wait 50 minutes for the ****ty Rapids as almost the entire queue was filled with groups of teenagers waiting for an adult to ride with

Now there's a thing; if an over eighteen wanted to ride it repeatedly, then they could lease themselves out, let's see, fifty pence for five, times..........

Think I'll stick to the other rides.

It's holiday season, so the gate is up, and visitors on Tuesday were saying it was busy. Queques vary during the day. If you don't have too far to travel and you have a pass, it would be worth going.

Ah, as I live close, I only have the TP pass which is a stupid cheap price er, is available. Merlin pass can be a little dear for most people. It all depends on how many times you can visit. Good luck.

How busy has the park been lately? I'm planning on convincing my parents to let me go at some point this summer.

  6. Rollback - never wanted one as it would be ride time wasted.

Today, a guy sat next to me asked if it had rolled back recently as he had heard it does it once in one hundred and fifty launches - rubbish I say, and bring him "up to date" with the increase in propulsion loading about four years ago - we got off the train. I stood on the platform and watched the next train launch, AND ROLLBACK! About 5.45pm.. this evening.

I've decided that Sore Saw is so much better and smoother in the rain. I don't know why, but it was actually enjoyable and I didn't leave in pain for the first time.

Ha Ha, the approaching rain was the reason I left it yesterday.

Hi all, I'm visiting for the first time ever from the USA on Tuesday, a couple quick questions:

    1. If I want re-rides on anything, it's sounding like I will need fast track because this season is very busy. My plan is to start at rope drop with Stealth if it's running, then Saw/Colossus/Swarm, then Darren Brown. Good strategy? Hoping to do each coaster and Samurai too, anything else I guess is a bonus.

    2. Are any of the water rides notable for particular good theming? Do people also queue up before those open since they are staggered?

Welcome to the Club and thanks for trusting the members to offer guidance. As with any park, everybody will have their own way of answering your questions.

From me, and perhaps it would help if you let people know if you'll be on your own, or with others, I would also suggest you deal with the Park in an anti-clockwise direction, I.e. left and then round. Darren Brown always seems to open after 11a.m., so don't fret on that one. Nemesis Inferno is always a low queue at the start of the day. If Stealth is not running, watch it as generally there are three test runs before start, but it should be available. SWARM always has a dead period around 1.30p.m., it seems that people are conditioned to take their lunch, at lunchtime. Don't miss Flying Fish as it's a nice little coaster with a surprise. Tidal Wave is brilliant, but if you were to do that, I'd suggest that either you have a change of clothes, or hope that the sun will dry you, it does leave one a little damp. Colossus queue can be viewed from on the bridge to assist you to make your mind up, and mind your ears if you ride it.

Enjoy your trip and time in England. The weather is set to be more pleasant than the forecast for this weekend.

What's up with our bae, planenut? Essential maintenance?

Sorry for the delay in replying, was at TP until 6.30p.m..

Sure enough, and I knew from the website, Stealth was "not available" today. It was to be checking and possible replacement of the cable but there was a power cut across most of the park, and that put them back at least two hours. Ten test launches were required and on the ninth, there was a hiccup, so that meant, all went back to "go". Last point of the day involved eight test launches then I left as it was not going to be running.

Whilst on SWARM today, just got the second break run and there was a power cut across most of the park. Luckily for us they released our train in about twelve minutes, alas, the train on the lift hill took over an hour and half to release.

Had a great visit to Saw recognizing several members of the team who looked after me, my neck will ache in the morning.

Good to meet and chat to member Josh today.

Knowing you're not thick, I believe you're meaning 'reach' capacity and not exceed. Legal stuff, and all that. :)

I too questioned it, watch what happens!

Schools week? I did ask one teacher yesterday if the pupils are expected to write a project based on their visit to Thorpe Park, but they appeared not to expect one.

  11. The new coaster at BPB has been designed to entwine with other existing rides, and I think that is a very positive thing as it is the way BPB has always built. Not such a fast one, but with the closeness of other structures it will add an interesting effect.

DM has had so much success with Thomas, and there geographical location is ideal, they can only do well out of it.

I love your Stealth stories!  24? That's no age aha - I'm the opposite - the older I get the MORE I love rollercoasters!

    At TP today, on..........Stealth...........

Guy announces to his mate "cor, five times on this would create havoc with your life 'cos of the adrenalin!"

Then a chap seated next to me said "I opened my eyes last time and I couldn't breathe!"

    We all survived the day.

    Advice is appreciated guys.

Trying to do lots of work snd and planning into this whole trip, given it would be me snd Tomb's biggest trip to date when it hopefully happens.

Is September a good time to visit? We are probably looking at 15 days.

Try to find out if they have any Bank Holidays during the period you're looking at as obviously there are more people in the parks, and check if school holidays are still on.

These prices may change in the time, but I doubt it...
