It was an interesting day yesterday, with five power outages, it caught me once on an outgoing train and once on inbound arriving at the platform, both on Stealth, but fairly quickly dealt with by the staff. The park is supplied by two different sub-stations, each in different Power Company districts, therefore not all rides are affected. Whilst the power came back on fairly quickly, some rides did not operate for a while due to the chance of riders being stuck out on the ride, and apparently it takes about twenty five minutes for the Rapids to fill sufficiently. The Beach was also affected due to pump/filters not working.
Whilst on a trip to check out the ablutions at one stage, a guy out on the "street", randomly started moaning at me about having paid £50 for his ticket then no rides being available; he took some persuading that power outages were not in the control of TP. TP were offering people return day tickets.

Being an old fffffffffellow, it doesn't interest me and yes, I think too that it's very trashy. The Company has not appeared to have been worried about relevance in the past, but more interested with the gimmick. Plenty of the young staff are very pleased that this association has been made.

The Dreamworld Thunder Rapids inquest has been adjourned until October, that will be a full two years since the horror occurred ...........

No idea if the report is out yet, or if what's been quoted is completely accurate...
This was off the r/rollercoasters page, so best looking there (I would, but 'work')...
Okay, thanks.

Some information on the trial regarding the Rapids at Dreamworld has come out via CF/Reddit...

Quite simply, some of the scariest stuff I've ever read as a former ride staff...
Whilst the incident was quite one of the nastiest I've heard of on rides and in theme park/ funfairs, the "report" referred to is clearly not a word for word copy of an official account or record; there is opinion in there which is that of the writer, and would not be allowed in an official report, unlike the recommendations that would be made. The observations of that lack of concern and care are real, but a link to the original would, I think, be more appropriate.
Those responsible for the failures will be going to Court.
For those involved, the relatives, friends and those who witnessed it have my sympathies.

Yes sure, free lockers outside the attraction for a set time (or following the queue time). Could be even more clever and use the park tickets. Very simple and sensible. works very well with many parks across the states. Leave the messing around outside the queue and station.
I know this is something thorpe have recently looked into, but it costs. So it didnt happen. unless it's free, TP wont do it.
Ah, see what you mean, but as someone suggested, if it costs anything more than one penny, TP would need a lot of persuading. I think with the history of the ride, the people will not want to change, and therefore would need some "policing".

............... The complete mess of having to cross the track to store bags just adds to the slow turn around too. .............
I'm sure if you had a sensible alternative, then TP would like to hear it.

It's happened with Colossus, Smiler (both of which we were outside for an hour or so), Galactica, Oblivion, Swarm, even Vampire, and now Rita. The only ride I've ever walked up to and just got on (that I've been scared of) is pretty much Wicker Man. I still don't know what I can do about this. Maybe I just need to find a ride that's way less intimidating to look at.
We are all different, and have different perceptions of everything in life, everything. If we were not different, then there'd be one heck of queue for what you did like. We don't have to like everything either, but to ride it once gives you the information to have an opinion on it.
Never worry about the things you don't fancy doing, it'll give you more time to do the things you liike. If someone has the time to criticize you, it's their brain cells they are wasting, enjoy your time.

Some people are very responsible, but sadly the majority, not that they're being irresponsible, just would not be safety aware, and the thought of anything hitting anyone on the ride really doesn't bear thinking about.
The only seats useable for filming would be front rows and even if secured, the items would be clearly seen. TP and Merlin are in it to make money, and therefore they would sooner you buy their material.
Make up some video off the rides, then enjoy the ride itself.

Colossus lean forwards into the restraint with ur arms up stops the head banging as ur shoulders/arms act as a buffer to ur body moving side to side
Thanks, I think I'll wear a boxing helmet next time. In the meantime, I will be talking with engineering.

During downtime on Stealth yesterday, I sampled Colossus as I
dodid like the layout and the ride, but my goodness, it was the worst ear bashing on a ride for years even though I was trying to counter it with holding my head against the padding. -

Anywho, the park has opened as usual today with the affected areas the only parts of the park unavailable. Three firemen have suffered from mild smoke inhalation but thankfully, no other injuries.
Well done to the park; there are many times when a location closes entirely when, like this, a section closed off is only necessary, and it encourages people to "show solidarity" (sorry, strange choice of words again) with the park and it's workforce.

Er, kids scare me!

The smoke on Stealth was working on Thursday for the first time I recall this year - sadly with the alteration to audio there are no screeching tyres, so this causes more worry for some than interesting effect.

So in summary, the amusement park is rather good, the zoo is alright and the safari is a bit crap, either way I'm glad to say I have now been to West Midland Safari Park.
Thanks for reading.
If you ever get the chance, their Twilight Bat Cave is well worth a visit. If you do the safari park drive, make sure your cooling system is on good form.

The fire effect has been irregular this season, and often fails to ignite the gas which then lingers around the area of SWARM and Stealth, it stinks.

I think we'll see a 'Sub Terra' here.
Possibly not, with the local water table it'd be a one way ticket.

Too right, I'll be there in a fortnight; bobsleigh is well worth it if the queue is manageable. For that damp feeling, Drenched will cool you, but only open from 2p.m..
