  1. Let's just get rid of this awful ride. Everyone I know who goes to Thorpe Park (who are all just the normal GP type, not enthusiasts) absolutely hate the ride. Its boring & feels like its going to breakdown. I really don't understand how anyone could like this ride, I really don't.

If you are referring to the brake runs then thats how it's supposed to feel. People must like it, if no one went on it then Thorpe would have gotten rid of it ages ago, just saying.

Whould the black hole from Alton towers fit in there? They coutld retheme the pyramid into a space ship?

Now please tell me how that would fit into Thorpes kind of themed areas? A space ship flying around Colossus? Hmm.

  2. Thanks for stating the obvious! Yes, obviously it is do-able; and in no occurrence did I say it wasn't; however things often change for various reasons. If a roof has to be replaced, Thorpe are not likely to look at it and go "Oh wow, we have to replace this roof lets just do it to keep Thorpe Park Mania happy" they have to look at the whole picture. It's like saying that Tesco are going to open a shop for the sake of opening a shop, it doesn't happen like that. They'll presumably be looking at the overall picture; if a roof has to be taken away and it gives more clearance between the ride and the roof, which in the long run is presumably more beneficial for the ride in general, even if it does come at the expense of the tunnel.

People on here seem to make it out like Thorpe are removing it for the sake of removing it; wake up people. Even Merlin aren't that stupid.

End of the day, it has to be removed for some reason or other. It's Thorpe it's likely because they have sat there and been like oh the roof stuff can wait one more year and now they are trying to remove their feet from their mouths...

It's a common problem within Businesses, trying to prioritise budgets, if you would like me to give you a source for that I refer you to any AS level Business Studies book which contains a chapter on budgets. Might learn something.

You seem so sure of all this, maybe you would like to produce some sort of proof one day? I for sure will be waiting...

  3. Engineering start before 7a.m. every day, so they're unlikely to start earlier; faults do arise when in use more often than when under maintenance checks (Murphy's law applies here), and after several staff return to Uni. late in the season, training cannot be as thorough.

On site training/guidance should be increased if it exists at all. I thought that was what managers and supervisors were for, but management, who can be identified when carrying "helping hand" grippers? seem to visit rides then disappear quickly.

Satisfaction cannot be guaranteed for all, and those who've had a good day are unlikely to comment, criticism abounds, myself included.

All staff will be trained at all times. Consider the fact that if a ride goes wrong people could be killed, I think that the staff will be trained don't you...

  4. I'm just going to throw this one out here, fastrack or no fastrack running reduced capacity of rides is a bit pointless unless it's the start of a day(not ideal) or end of the day. That was it deals with the 'hour peak' queue and the 'barely there' queue.

As for the trains, in a nutshell, Colossus is broked others aren't. There is nothing that would make a train go in for maintenance early unless it broke.

Just basically summing up what everyone's saying, so fastrack?

  5. It's also down to Thorpe, they have actually thought of the guest experience for once. Stops people fainting, as Fred said stops over heating etc it's for both purposes.

  6. A security host has said he is not happy with what's going on this year. That's good Anough for me. Bring back the tall guy who was in charge but not seen him this year yet... He was quality dealt with the pikeys really well. I just hope my bf don't have ppl q Jump on him when we go next weekend. He and his mates are not the kind to deal lightly with idiots like that. Thorpe seems to be too full of yes men that sit around in the offices and don't actually go out on the park and experience the issues that security / staff and public experience.

That attitude is what starts fights...

Now your banging on about Duty of Care and all, now from my experience with law by providing adequate security Thorpe are fulfilling their Duty of Care. Now who decides what the word adequate means? That would be the park drawing on previous years research and saying ''right on these weekdays we have x amount of security and on weekends we have x amount'' You cannot sit here and possibly try and say they are failing their Duty of Care as if they were, they would have been stopped by now even as its only been a few days.

To be guilty of omission through Duty of Care Thorpe will have had to be having a proper 'we don't care' attitude and not be providing security at all. You are blowing this out of proportion, if you would like to complain more feel free to tell the park as they will say what we all have been saying...

  7. Well......... I think my point is proven! lol I dont think its the right image having incidents like these especially if they want to attract " decent " ppl. $ mins!!! Blimey that is some kind or record surely??! The poor actor. My sources are obviousy correct in saying that they fear for thier own safety. No police or Proper security means TP have obviously struggled budgetwise this year we all know visitor numbers have been down on what they were expecting, As for 8 security for one guy... jeez thats bad TP!!! Sort it out PARK MANAGEMENT!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to personally pay for it all be my guest... Do you have any idea about running a business?

  8. Tpkabz, remind me how many sky swats there are in the world? Remind me how many of them are still going?

Of course it's going to be rubbish, but the fact that after so long Thorpe is still managing to fix it.

After reading some of your post, christ I would love to see if you could do a better job.

  9. The longest I queued was 40 minutes for a McDonalds when I went, I wish McDonalds had fastpass. The touch screen ordering system was broken, everywhere else was too expensive for us seeing as we didn't have much money then so you complaining about queuing for foods a bit :S besides in any other theme park/ thrill park etc etcc if you go around peak times you will get massive queues.

It is not a race to the bottom, one place giving you poor service does not give everywhere else licence to be ****.

Try telling English parks that, they all seem to think it's a race to the bottom...
