  1. I'm assuming you mean a SCAD dive? They are very overrated in my opinion, it was fun but I would much prefer to do a sky coaster or slingshot
  2. Am I the only one who has never watched an episode of the walking dead?
  3. tulleys really need to allow touch scares if they want to keep up with other events, just imagine the cellar and Hellements if the actors were allowed physical contact
  4. I was thinking they could go for an execution style hooded maze, but I hope they just scrap the hoods in general and have a free flow style maze like cabin or sub species. Dont get me wrong, I've had some outstanding runs through cellar, probably over 30 runs in total as only living 5-10 minutes away makes me spend a lot of money during the Halloween period, but it's just not as in your face as it used to be. 2011 was easily the best year for the cellar but since then I have become used to the style of scares and it has got to the point where I could literally walk the route of the maze with my eyes shut. Its a bit like how cabin got, the maze is still great but after doing it too many times it starts to get stale, I can see how first timers would find it one of the best still. It's not that I don't enjoy it, it's one of the most enjoyable at the event, but I just don't get scared in it like I used to.
  5. So I saw on Thorpe park local that tulleys will be getting a new medieval themed maze this year, but it won't be a new addition, it will be replacing a current attraction, here's a few ideas about what it possibly will/won't replace: hayride - nope, that's here to stay, plus it doesn't take up a lot of space in the actual park so removing it would be a terrible decision. hellements - I highly doubt hellements will go, it's a unique maze to the park and doesn't take up a lot of space so don't think it will be leaving us his year. coven - I think this is easily in the running for the maze which will be replaced, the mixed variety of opinions on its opening year last year suggests that tulleys might just give up on it instead of try to improve it. creepy cottage - they won't put it here, it's permanent and doesn't move, see ya in October cottage chop shop - highly unlikely as it is one of the main draws to the event pandemoniums - I hope it doesn't go here, and I don think it will, tulleys have had a clown maze for as long as I can remember and it would be sad to see it go colony - this is up there with coven for me, as much as I adore the colony I don't think it's for everyone, if they keep the length and mix of in and outdoor scenes but just re-theme the whole thing to a medieval village I think it would work incredibly well. cellar - this is also in the running to go, to my knowledge it's almost been 10 years at the event for the cellar so maybe it's time for a change, it used to be the scariest thing at tulleys by far, but now it's one of the tamer, warm up mazes. I wouldn't be too sad to see it go but it if stayed I won't be complaining. sorry for such a long post but I live less than 10 minutes away from tulleys so I always get over excited for shocktoberfest. What do you guys think we'll see change this year?
  6. Cheers man, appreciate that
  7. Can somebody please give me the link to the tulleys thread as I can't seem to find it and there is a new attraction to speculate about.
  8. Do you think containment will return as containment? Or as something else in its place? because last Friday when I walked past it I noticed that all signage had been removed. Don't know if it was just so they could keep it nice for FN but just intrigued to know if anything is happening with it.
  9. Didnt even think of this, I'm sure they must be planning on at least one actual area of the park to turn into a scare zone, then if you include containment and the 5 usual mazes you've got yourself 7 attractions. I'm getting excited now
  10. If they're saying more scared than before, does that mean 7 attractions?!?! Where the hell will they all go.
  11. So sorry for 3 consecutive posts but just imagine a full universal lineup: walking dead saw (re-done for jigsaw movie) big top (re-done for it movie) something unique like rings or AHS and then a huge cult classic like elm street, texas chainsaw or Halloween I would be in love, like a mini HHN for us Brits and if a mini HHN is the case, imagine the quality of the scare zones, they would be actual scare zones. Wow I know how unrealistic this is but I like to dream
  12. I reckon the walking dead will replace platform, anyone taken a walk down monks walk recently? If not miles there's something for your next vlog mate! Thorpe just need to hurry up and release their full line up, I'll have no wifi for 3 weeks in Canada so need to find out asap what's going on this year.
  13. Sorry I know this is a bit off topic but I just wanted to mention how bad operations were yesterday. before I rant I've got to say the batching on saw was really good as they weren't letting in big groups every 5-10 minutes, instead they were letting in 10-15 people every 45-60 seconds which kept the queue moving really quickly. samurai operations were dyer, there was only 2 cycles in front of us and we queued for over half an hour. quantum only had 2 rows on each side open. vortex and zodiac were shut all day. rush took at least 10 minutes to actually get the lap bars down every cycle, meaning that an almost empty queue line still meant waiting 15-20 minutes. due to rumbas new 'you can only ride with an over 18' rule meant that it was chaos on the loading platform, there was at least 5 groups of teens all running around the rotating platform and screaming and shouting, the 2 staff members were extremely bad at controlling it, in the end they just shut off the queue and rode it themselves with he groups until they had al been on and then re-opened the queue. nemmy, stealth and swarm were all the same as usual but they felt extremely fast after waiting for the other rides.
  14. Completely forgot about cabins venue!! What an idiot^^^^^
  15. They need at least 5 mazes again, but seriously don't know where the new ip will go, the area to the left of stealths entrance just doesn't seem big enough to me, unless they use the hidden gardens around the back as part of he queue line? another place which could possibly work is the area at the end of Blair witch after the shed to the gate by rumba, it could easily fit a reasonably sized marquee and a queueline long enough to support 2 hour queues. so basically there's the saw alive venue, the platform route, big tops area, stealth area maybe, rumba/Blair area and the beach if they can sort flooding issues. And my last point is the one I feel most strongly about, Alton in the last 2 years finally realised what a scare 'zone' is, they don't incorporate 2 hour queues and they shouldn't have fast track sold for them, they are areas of the park filled with actors, theming, audio, fog and lighting effects. I really think the pathway from lost city flats to Colossus entrance could work really well as a scare zone, if not the entire angry birds/ amity area wouldn't be bad either. reallly looking forwards to seeing what the 'huge announcement' scare tour posted about is...
  16. That's where I'm getting muddled up! Thanks man appreciate it.
  17. Damn! Thanks for letting me know
  18. Also posted this in the Fright nights thread Quick question, It may sound pretty stupid to you guys but can normal, non-celebs go to the press night if they own a Thorpe annual pass? Because I would love to get footage of the mazes and have no queues, quick replies would be much appreciated.

  20. If Thorpe could pull off nightmare on elm street I would literally be in love, otherwise I really think a chop shop style maze with chainsaws but where you choose your own route like cabin could create an outstanding Texas chainsaw attraction. Can't wait for thirpe to announce this years lineup. This forum needs to be more active as the hype is building and I feel I'm the only one who is remotely bothered lololol
  21. Really intrigued as to what this is going to be?!
  22. Or maybe they'll just make platform start where Blair used to finish and brand it as the parks longest maze ever again!!
  23. A solid lineup for this years event in my opinion: big top - as it was last year, a few more actors in the strobe section. saw alive - as good as it has been the last 2 years with as many or more actors. Containment - not an up charge attraction but just a first come first serve booking system. Blair witch - with a sountrack, more actors, and an indoor section along the path after the shed along by infernos station. platform 15 - give this the treatment the big top got and we'll be in for a treat, in the tunnel I was expecting an audio, crawling sections, squeeze tunnels and definitely expected to get split up, if all of this happens in the tunnel as well as more actors it will be great. Oh and a good finalé please. new ip - the big new 5 star maze should be good this year if they pull it off. the park should also do an actual "scare zone" not just an outdoor maze with a 2 hour queue and call it a scare zone.
  24. I now know what tulleys are doing this year after popping down to pick some strawberries today, I have to say I now could not care less about fright nights this year if they get the permission from the neighbouring farm owners!!!!
  25. Anybody else on park today? Walked past saw alive and saw loads of staff around the entrance and exit but don't really know what they were doing. Also I don't know why but the old MBV soundtrack played in the vortex queueline when I rode at around 13:30 which was cool but weird. Am I the only one who isn't feeling the hype for fright nights early this year?
