Cedar Point
Reliability is so bad at this park. Three rides in 5 hours due to constant mechanical issues. This park is extremely overrated.

Paultons Park
The Gerst would have been OK with lapbars, but it's been confirmed to have OTSRs. Can imagine it being incredibly rough with those restraints within 2-3 years.

Hyperia
App is stating a 2hr queue today. Considering it is off-peak, I'm thinking it must still be on one train.
-
Hyperia
Any ideas why Hyperia appeared to be running only one train today?

Alton Towers General Discussion
Skyride is down today. Staff saying it will 'hopefully open later' which is no good once I've already walked to the other side of the park 😒 Edit: Also, it's very sad to see Toxicator's queueline scratched-up with graffiti.

Stealth
Just opened. Instant 60min wait and growing. Edit - lasted 10 minutes. Down again.

Closed so far today. Not on the planned closure page. A lot of children about today as well... supposed to be a school day according to the local councils website.

Hyperia
It's quite apparent at this point that there is a fundamental flaw with the engineering and/or design of this ride, which falls squarely on Mack's shoulders. I certainly hope Thorpe are not paying them for any remedial action that needs to be taken.

Hyperia
Hyperia's having a fairly bad opening day.
-
Hyperia
There has been remarkably little criticism of Mack. Nobody seems to want to admit that, at this point, it looks like Hyperia's problems have been caused by good old-fashioned poor design.

That's just isn't good enough, really. I hope they get the second train back on the track soon. 3-4hr queues is not good from a guest experience perspective. Surely this is unsustainable.
-
Hyperia
Hopefully it stays open tomorrow. Will really leave a bitter taste if it's closed.
-
Hyperia
That may be, but I'm more concerned for the experience of the paying guests.

Hyperia
Queue page on the app states closed all day. Still no update on the ride availability page. People will have travelled on the basis of that information. It would not surprise me if they do this. Get it open for the press then hide behind their T&Cs when it fails to open for guests.
-
Hyperia
Can't upset the vloggers! It would not surprise me if they got it open for press night. My experience with customer services this year has shown me that the park does not care about paying guests. Edit (next day): No changes to ride availability on the app. If it's going to be closed they really need to update the availability/closures page.

Hyperia
Seeing as I've booked Sun Saver tickets for the 25th months in advance, will they change the date? This closure was not announced at the time of booking. (Edited for grammar typo)

Wicker Man
I know that. I'm saying that Towers made it sound like it wasn't a big deal. But, the damage is evidently extensive.
-
Wicker Man
Towers' statement made it appear that the damage was superficial, emphasising that fire-treated wood was used in construction. I think people were expecting it to only be shut for a few days.
-
Wicker Man
It's obviously done some significant damage for the ride to be shut this long.

The ERT was supposes to start at 7pm. They opened the queue and let us in, but we waited until 7:20 whilst they took a train off and ran test cycles. First riders got on just after 7:20. Queue was promptly closed at 8pm on the dot. On one train, yes we were queuing 20-25 minutes.
-
Hyperia
For what was paid per head, it definitely was not worth it. And they only ran the ERT for 40 minutes and not the hour we were sold. Ended up with only two rides on the ERT. If the organisers didn't know, then I think they've, and by extension the members, have been a bit ripped off.

Hyperia
Yesterday was my first time on it as well, though the less said about Thorpe's handling of the "event" the better, which is a whole other topic (I left afterwards with a bit of a bitter taste in all fairness). Hyperia is an excellent coaster and is probably my favourite in the UK, but only just. However, when compared to other coasters in Europe, it probably doesn't crack the top 15.
