Yes. If you have any idea what it is like to be a minority, then a group where you can meet up with like minded people and talk about experiences, can only help people. Being of a certain ethnicity is not the same as sexuality. You don't have to come out if you are from a certain religion or race but gays do. There is a difference. The minority only do it you are absolutely right. But a lot of people are not accepting, even people who say they love gay people still come out with "I don't mind gay people, as long as they don't show it in front of me." So that means holding hands or a simple kiss on the cheek/lips then. I'm afraid I disagree again. It's very easy to stand from a distance and say that the world doesn't need gay socieites and it's a non issue but it is. People are bullied for it, even murdered for it. Gays are called a virus, un-natural by religious groups. Homosexuality is illegal in countires, even parts of the civilised world have it banned in certain states. We live in one of the leading cities in the world and yet people are killed or seriously injured in our very capital. It's about acceptance and the first step towards that is to be understanding of ourselves. You, as a straight person don't have to go to your mum and dad, your family, your friends and say to them "I'm straight." Every gay man and woman at some point has to come to terms with that and maybe socities like these at colleges can help people who are scared of the future.

I agree. When I first rode I genuinely thought they still had work to do on it. If they had worked harder on the story then maybe it wouldn't give that impression but as it stands it does look half finished.

I remember the days when Thorpe was truely dead. Having a whole Colossus train to myself on 2005 open day.. now that was dead. 20 minute wait for a 2 train Colossus? That's quiet but still a hefty wait.

I get the feeling it's a knee jerk reaction to all the deaths and controversy over the T-bar a few years back. After all Hydro used to run fine with a T-bar and now it doesn't. Kingda Ka is essentially a taller TTD and yet thats fully kitted with orange OTSR's.

There's no real need for fastrack at any park.. and yet there it is.

Thorpe won't get any kind of dive machine as Saw kind of covers that angle. I'd imagine Thorpes 2012 coaster will be similar to Gardalands wingrider. Still, very exciting, it's been a long 6 years since a 'new'* B&M has been added in Europe, so to get three in the space of two years is very exciting. *Yes Monster opened in France this year but it isn't new, just relocated.

Thats like me nearly all the time then. You don't have to be an attention whore but just by introducing yourself to everyone can you start to feel part of the group. Like this year on the meet, I didn't know Daniel H, Ellie, Professorx, smartguy or Adam Y and I'd got there late, all I did was go up to them and talk and hey prestro, everythings good.

Agreed. There's having something no one else has, and then theres showing off and releasing 15 second clips on the internet to brag even more about it.I could easily get it, share it amongst everyone and blow you out the water.

Got a new kitten yesterday which we have called Bailey. He's 6 weeks old and has more confidence then the other four cats put together. He's actually adorable as well.
