Posted March 28, 201312 yr comment_154656 Hi guys - how easy is it to travel to and from Thorpe from London in terms of public transport?I'm heading to London to do all the touristy stuff later this year and would love to throw a nice trip in. Would any of you have any advice how to get from London to Staines, then to thorpe? Also in terms of accommodation - if we wanted to stay 2 days at Thorpe would you recommend we stay in london and travel each day or stay within Staines itself. The new thorpe hotel box things are a option as well - but fairly expensive! Thanks for your help!
March 28, 201312 yr comment_154657 Simple business to get to Thorpe from Central London, single train from Waterloo (or can go from Victoria but will require changing at Clapham and a MILE LONG walk)... Vauxhall is another alternative as Waterloo trains head straight through... Then a bus from Staines station (or taxi, whichever floats your boat)...
March 28, 201312 yr comment_154658 Most train out of London will call at Clapham Junction, so you will be able to get a service to Staines from there. Not sure how frequent they run, and how long it takes. As for accomodation, consider the new Crash Pad if you wish, but from looking at online pictures, be advised that these are very basic accomodation units and the closest comprison size-wise is a caravan! Personally, I would stay in a Travelodge or Travel Inn close to the station you get your train to, so Staines or Ashford in this case. Hope this gives some guidance - speak to the park for more information if you still have any questions.
