  1. Hi all, I'm looking to head to Orlando for 2 weeks+ next year - due to work limitations this needs to be early in the year as well. I was originally looking at April, however after doing a bit of research it seems with Spring break this isn't a good time to go. I want to find a month that has nice weather (doesn't need to be scorching) along with the parks being quiet - the latter being the most important over weather. Would any of you be able to recommend a good month and any other general advice for Orlando? It seems International drive is the best place to be in terms of accommodation. Also would you be able to recommend any sites to keep an eye on in terms of holiday deals for this area? Thanks very much!
  2. we were delayed going in when the Swarm was relatively new - we were almost at the front of the queue, 2-3 from our party were searched and as such the time we got to the swarm there was already a 45 min queue. We went to guest services and they gave us all a fast track which was kind.
  3. deal is up here: http://thorpepark.com/prices/annual-passes.aspx?tabnum=3 are you able to upgrade a thorpe park pass into a merlin annual pass - potentially saving money?
  4. Wow what a great offer - as someone that won't be heading to a Merlin Attraction until September (I live abroad) I really hope I can make use of this offer in some way!

    fright nights

cool - thanks for your input guys. seems a hard decision to make. I know the dates haven't been released yet this year - but could anyone have a educated guess as to the week they begin? (not sure if they're the same every year).
  6. hi guys - how are the fright nights at thorpe? thinking of attending the one later this year. I guess there busy - but how are the ride queues? really want to do a halloween event at either alton or thorpe - thorpe is generally easier for me to travel to
  7. I think there going for the promote that you're here approach and will find a way to encourage guests to update there facebook etc
  8. do the annual pass people tend to get security searched often? I know its meant to be random but from my experience the first batch through the door get searched - which is ironic as they queued the longest just to be the last in
  9. every year during the closed season don't they take all the cars apart for there annual safety check and repairs etc? surely the same dodgy car would have been replaced by now?
  10. compared to say swarm its like falling down the stairs, on your face
  11. the speakers offer so much interaction and really add to the thrill of the ride - being up there with a scary count down for 10 secs is awesome. plus some of the scumbag () staff drop you unexpectedly before it hits 0. I remember one day we went we was asked to all wave while we was at the top - soon as we started waving they dropped us - awesome
  12. are these new seats or just repainted? I noticed last year alot of the time some bars wouldnt open properly at the end and the staff had to release you with a bar plus I dont gwt why they dont fix the speakers / sound for the ride, such a cheap fix and it makes the ride. they spend loads on the new x - surely they could have fixed the speakers / sound on this : /
  13. Awesome - thanks all, seems pretty simple. God bless the Thorpe park express
  14. Hi guys - how easy is it to travel to and from Thorpe from London in terms of public transport? I'm heading to London to do all the touristy stuff later this year and would love to throw a nice trip in. Would any of you have any advice how to get from London to Staines, then to thorpe? Also in terms of accommodation - if we wanted to stay 2 days at Thorpe would you recommend we stay in london and travel each day or stay within Staines itself. The new thorpe hotel box things are a option as well - but fairly expensive! Thanks for your help!
  15. Am I the only person that thinks the prices are pretty good considering they include park entry and the fact your seconds from the rides? Also I'm sure THORPE aren't going to just keep them looking like shipping crates, I bet my boots they will be colored and styled pretty nicely. Looking forward to seeing what they do.
  16. Storm surge offers some of the best fun at Thorpe Park - it's not the ride itself, it's using the guns to soak people on the last corner section
  17. thats something I love about Thorpe - as soon as you pull into that car park you see the tops of rides and Stealth - it's scary! once your in and past the dome again your just surrounded by rides and its just awesome
  18. S So agree with this - why advertise something worse than it actually is, since the upgrade changing the sigh to 1.8 or less than 2 seconds would be great

cool video - how come these rides never seem to have the track cleaned? I heard before some people saying how difficult it is but surely a pressure washer and some time when the rides closed in winter and there's no problem, at least cleaning the visible areas?
  20. Your forgetting lunch as well - say 30 mins. They seem to just throwi these ideas out to save money and then cancel them when everyone rages - pretty poor planning imo?
  21. You should draw this route on a map - sounds good
  22. to be fair you cant really blame people that go on this to want to pull the bars down as far as possible
  23. I cant wait to ride this thing when I go in septemeber, it looks so smooth almost gliding around
  24. I generally find when on something that moves at high speed and weighs over 10 tons not to have anything tied around your neck
