  1. Yeah forgot to add that the station was rammed yet the music was still at a great volume.
  2. Interesting...The music in the Vampire station today was at a fantastic volume- much, much louder. Also the lights around the Organist look less like a disco and are now all green, looks absolutely fantastic.Certainly not perfect with the operator cutting the ambience with Health and Safety announcements, but definately a massive improvement.
  3. Remember though, one of Chessington's main aims is to make a profit. Having just those rides open would probably cost them more to pay out for staffing than to keep them open. Let's not forget that Chessington is a business.
  4. Quite a few of these ideas are already being talked about within the park, and are going to happen, eventually. What's promising is that management are really looking at detail. Expect Chessington's themed areas to become even more immersive over the years. It's just going to take a little time.
  5. I definately agree with a lot of these, they're probablythe most common issues. The Vampire audio is something that can be rectified very easily by literally getting the engineers to turn up the volume. Some pre-recorded announcements wouldn't go amisss either. And the signage problem is being sorted out next year, with every single sign being replaced next year for the relaunch of Chessington.
  6. It was epic. What a way to send off the area after almost 10 seasons. Never seen anything like it. Management, guests, staff, all covered in custard, I can still smell it on me and I've had a shower! There were water fights, staff going after other staff members, guests chucking pie and water over staff. Seriously, it was so good, expect to see lots of videos on youtube soon.
  7. Have fun! Will look out for you both. And smartguy, I really wouldn't bother with Express passes, queue times today were very average, around 30 minutes for the Fury and Vampire. My advice- don't rush to Vampire or Fury, go to other attractions first such as Tomb Blaster and Rattlesnake, then do the coasters a bit later. You can always buy an Express Shot for £3.
  8. Went to the park a couple of days ago. The place was literally dead. We left by 1pm as we'd done everything we wanted to. I had nothing bad to say about the park that day, infact, park operations were running really well, with the exception of the silly queue info system. Although I think enough has been said on that matter already.I have to commend the park, on a dead day, they started out on two trains, on Stealth, Inferno and Colossus. They then moved on to 1 train operation, only because literally that's all the park needed. I may be in the minority here, but I actually think closing Saw was a good idea, I mean, if there was a time to do it, then it's now. Plus it's all for our own interests in the coming month. A few negative points: Inferno's mist effects are already starting to disappear- it really is such a shame, it's such a great effect. Same case with the dispatch theme not being played when train is dispatched. That whole station could do with a massive re-furb actually. On the plus side though, the geysers under the loop were working brilliantly. ;)Colossus station announcements were playing... woo! I do quite like the combination of the 2007 ambience music along with the 2006 announcements. Although the original Colossus Station music is just pure class. The park is very geared towards Fright Nights now. I love this time of year. Work was clearly going on inside Asylum, and by the time we left, The Curse's marquee was fully erected. I'd love to just have a casual walk around the mazes, without any actors in, especially Hellgate; I love that maze!We were bored by 1pm, so we left. The park really does need a brilliant dark ride, there's no reason as to why these can't be thrilling also.
  9. This is a pretty common problem. I've heard many experiences of people having grey- outs on inferno and Nemesis. I've experienced it on Inferno during the vertical loop.It happens because the G- Forces you are experiencing pulls all the blood away from your head, and towards your legs. A grey out can affect you if you are de-hydrated, or tired, as the body isn't functioning as well as it could be.It's nothing to worry about, but if you feel as though you need to, then definately go speak to your doctor.
  10. ROFL! It's actually really scary that people seriously think like that- in 2009!I do like reading other people's experiences, it's pretty inspiring. There will be people who read this and feel more comfortable about themselves. It can be such a traumatic experience for some people, to even come to terms with it themselves.Love them more.
  11. Had a good couple of days up at Alton. Some effects seem a bit temperamental- First day all of Nemesis' waterfalls were working bar one, second day none were working along with no music. No TV's were turned on in the Oblivion Queueline on the first day, yet all were working the second.Duel is a bit shocking really. Duel Live is a far, far superior attraction.Other than that everything else was brilliant, seriously, very good. Here's a few pictures.
  12. Impossible. Rameses is one button from the operator, and one button from the platformer, which must be pressed simultanueously to send the ride. The only manual buttons the ride has is the small speed dial to bring the ride down in the case of a shutdown, but this does not control any brakes
  13. You say that, yet there have been queues of around 45 minutes for the ride over the past few days. Peaking at 70 minutes on Wednesday. At a park where they aim to have something for everyone, it fits in just fine.
  14. Went here this afternoon. Seemed a lot scarier than the last time I went, mainly down to the great actors in there today. Fantastic attraction, would so love to be an actor in there.
  15. The old Vampire was just awesome. It felt much more of a complete experience. Much darker, more atmosphere and seriously had world class written all over it.The new Vampire is rough, the atmosphere it once had leaks out all over the place and don't even get me started on that queue line....On the up side though, it's a great first coaster for many people and is awesome for anyone who doesn't know any different.Similar could be said about the Bubbleworks.
  16. Much preferred it at Thorpe. It actually had quite a cool theme idea and name there. Chessie literally painted over the themeing and pods, you can still see the moons, old colour scheme and themeing on the pods.Aside from that though, it's a great way to just sit back and relax for a couple of minutes. =)
  17. I feel as though I should re-introduce myself here.Hey everyone, Sheepie's the name, been on here for a few years. I tend not to post all that often these days. But browse the forums regularly.I used to have a role for being the voice of reason on here. Bloody teenagers

    Nemesis

just search for the ride on youtube and you'll be able to hear it. If you mean when it was louder a few months ago, then you can always just search for a video that was added during that timespan!
  19. I'm going to be a complete geek here, but I wish I could just completely blitz the station. Major deep cleaning, take everything away, apart from the structure and the track and clean it.The station deserves to be dramatic and moody and currently it isn't. At the very least those lamps could be cleaned and fixed and the bass in the station brought back to its former glory.
  20. The speakers have worked once upon a time, they were blasting out the Vampire theme back in FN 04.

    Music

    Absolutely goregous! live performance.
  22. Just to clarify, those crocs were to hide the filtering systems that used to filter the water for the lakes and waterfalls, something I'd love to see sorted out back to its former glory!
  23. Definately, it's extremely quiet.
