  1. I know they're very guilty indeed, and as I said (or was at- least trying to vent across to people in my previous post, Thorpe only seem to try new things where it will benefit them directly. And I think you've misread my post, as I was actually giving the park some negative feedback. It's not just our day that it improves! The amount of people that say whilst in the queue for Inferno "oh, why aren't those water gun thingys working- they were so cool," and, " and remember those light things in the tunnel- they were awesome."Yet more evidence is my auntie, she only goes to a theme park once a year. Last year after a day at Thorpe she was so underwhelmed, and, using her words "It's like an outdoor warehouse".We went to Chessington the other week, and she said "wow, this reminds me a little of the States".Ok, so that might be a little too generous for Chessington, but it just goes to show really. And for even more evidence- she enjoyed Chessington so much that she's taking me again on Saturday, and also taking her husband too.I could list all the once great effects at Thorpe, and give you reactions of people, but we could be here for a while. But, in conclusion, they really do add to people's days.

Hang on let me get my violins! Honestly, get over it woman I might have abeen more sympathetic, if you hadn't said that you wanted to slap me.Mind you, I do enjoy being hit, so if anyone sees me in future, don't hesitate to hit me. I remember the first time I met Phill, he kept hitting me all day- and I had bruises all up my arm! :(And then there's James who is obsessed with my ginger hair, and is always pulling it. There's Holly who squeezes me so tight that it hurts! Hmm... who else. Seb: he just likes to jump on my back, Joe- he secretly wants to bone me, Marc- ermm.... he didn't say anything to me (lol), and TpDan- well, I think it's more us that terrorize him really. And I think that's all the people I've met from this forum.Would be quite embarressing if I left someone off, in which case, you can hit me very hard indeed

Lol."You are crap""Made a mess in my mouth"Lol!!!EDIT: This is a video of Because f you, with the actual music taken away from the CD track. So basically it's accapella Her voice is amazing kthnx Especially from 2:30Orgasm on a plate rly
  8. It might not having anything to do with them, but I can't see them being too impressed when thousands of people are seeing their brand name splashed over all these damaged looking speakers.it's just what people associate things with.
  9. Sheepie replied to Cringle's topic in Stuff
Ooo an Avril Lavigne fan*Dances*And Alex, lol if I'm being honedt the only reason Kelly got to number 9 this week was because all of her fans were buying and downloading multiple copies of Never Again.Haha, now that's being loyal
  10. Sheepie replied to Cringle's topic in Stuff
Wooo a Kelly Clarkson fan!!*Get's excited*
  11. About a week ago I emailed Bose complaining about the state of some of their speakers. I made particular reference to the accoustic wave cannons on Nemesis Inferno, and said that quite a few were in a bad condition, or completely turned off. This is the reply I got from them So, not much more than we already know. She is obviously referring to project link. So to draw a conclusion, this whole ordeal was kinda pointless, but I thought I'd try anyway. I will definately be emailing them again though
  12. That phrase annoys me so much. The thing is, Thorpe really don't have that attitude; well they do, but there's lots of things that they've changed that really didn't need to be. The problem is Thorpe apply that phrase to the wrong circumstances.

  14. Haapy Birthday Marc
  15. I used to think exactly the same way as you Marc, and it annoyed me when I saw people 'slagging off' Tussauds. I used to think that I was being diplomatic, and fair to them. With hindsight I realize that I was just being naive. With all fairness, it's not the park in particular- it's Tussauds. But everyone calm down, there's no need to slag off Tussauds anymore; we can slag off Merlin instead
  16. I think Rich was just passing a comment at the amount of development that Thorpe have seen, not that he only likes record breakers. And Nemesis was the first Inverted coaster in Europe at the time- but that's just me being pedantic, as it's slightly irrelevant really.
  17. The Flying Fish is now in it's third incarnation; it first started out its days in 1983 when it was an indoor attraction- known as Space Station Zero. After 6 years it was rethemed into the Flying Fish, in 1989.It was the first coaster introduced by previous owners, RMC.It was removed at the end of the 2004 season to make way for the construction of Stealth. The entrance could be found just beside to where the teacups are.Now the ride is a former shadow of itself (common trend when Tussauds get their mits on it) when Tussauds reintroduced it this year.Totally agree with you Rich about the area- it's a shambles. Personally, I'd love for Thorpe to make a statement, and decide whether they want to become an amusement park, or a theme park. At the moment I think they're pretending to be something they're not- which is causing us fans to be so harsh on them! To a certain extent we could argue that they made the desicion to become an amusement park when they brought the Fish in this year- as that has literally NO themeing at all. Heck, I think it made the statement way back in 2004.This means that they don't need to spend ANY on themeing, and just make sure it looks clean (and probably clinical). And as a result, we would see a little more being spent on the ride itself.
  18. Well it's funny you say that actually, as Thorpe are the least secretive park when it comes to their future developments, so therefore, I find it quite ironic that we don't know what they are planning to do next year! Haha.I think the land that was previously used by the farm is too close to a residential area to build anything on it. I think I read that it was going to be flooded, so they could do more infilling nearer to the main park. Not sure where I read that though.I personally think that after 1009, major development will ease slightly, and as they've pretty much used all of their available land (without infilling more of course), they will have to think more carefully about where they're going to put things (wich is something they haven't really done in the past, if we're being honest here).I mean, come 2009, we will have four major coasters- which is pretty cool for any park.
  19. Well we'll have to wait and see about the themes and also how it will be connected. It will probably be one of the first projects that Merlin will be involved in from the start, so it will be interesting to see the quality.Although a part of me wants to be cynical and suggest a concrete theme for the new lands?
  20. *COUGHS*Anyone ready to see what themeing really is?BLOW YOUR MIND AWAYSuck on that Thorpe kthnx

It's a really good experience And usually if there's a closed ride or whatever, it's usually in the closed rides topic.Hope that helps

Yeh that's a really interesting video actually, that's been posted before. Thanks for reminding us- I actually forgot about that video.I like looking at where Det and Inferno are now. Haha, it's wierd.
  23. YEH! Let's all blame Rich *Points finger* haha.I think it's just the fact that we're all really similar people, and we're all so passionate about the same thing. Mix that together and you get fireworks.we all want our point of view to be heard and sometimes this can cloud our vision of the other person's point.I do aggree with you Rich, 100%. The thing is with this kind of discussion id that it'll go around in circles as people will be like "they need to, but they won't," and then someone else will come along and go "but they should, and need to".The thing is, if we all aggreed then there wouldn't be any discussion, but at the rate we're going at, the thread just seems to be revolving on itself- which is also very boring.Either way, it's been good to actually have a proper discussion on TPM, I've really enjoyed it, so in actual fact, we should thank you Rich for making a thread that's struck a nerve with many people.More like this I say! (but be nice)

I hope that made you happy
  25. If I'm being honest, I think there's only one person in this conversation that's looking for an argument.OK, I've re-read everything about three times now, and I'm going to pick every little detail apart and then scrutinize every atom that exists within it. (Y) Ok, this was in reply to Cringle saying that Phantasialand has been recognized for its beauty and diverssity of its representation of cultures. I do believe he was just using the hotel as an example to great themeing, and could in fact, be applied to any attraction there. Therefore, this remark is a little out of place, as Cringle merely commented on the themeing, yet he was just correcting you on the amount of hotels, as you'd questioned how many there were. Why would adding a hotel to Thorpe make it more viable for it to be compared anyway?I do find it ironic that people will try to pick fights with other people over a leisure activity that's meant to bring people together- it's actually doing the reverse of that!Anyways, I'm going to predict that some personal remarks shall be flying around this topic soon, so hold on tight all yee admins.Let's keep it clean on here please?
