...but I think the use of the actual puppet is good cos there are a few tv's when queueing up and at the bottom of the lift hill, so the use of the real thing is more interesting
-
I think it's great how it is. Billy appears on a bike in the films, dunno which one/s but I know it happens, so it does make sense.
-
I'd agree with that, the biggest letdown for me about SAW is how short it actually is. But still, it's a great ride experience either way.
-
True...I think a bit of smoke/fog could be used just as you come out of the indoor section into the open.
-
If that's all it is then it's so not worth £12 :/ I paid £14 for the YourDay system at Alton Towers and that captured me on 5 rides. And no sound, that's a bit rubbish. Hopefully that particular DVD was captured during the testing stages of the cameras.

HAHA.Probably in Slammers. There's no getting out of that when you pull them down hard.
-
I had my 2nd ride on Stealth the other day and I loved it wasn't holding on for dear life this time round!
-
Well I actually quite liked the effect but it was slightly random. Maybe it's just their for now, hopefully they'll have time in the closed season from the end of this year to come up with something a little different and more exciting.

Oh gosh guys, I totally meant Depth Charge. Woah, my mistake lol.Umm, I mean pretty poor as in not going on Colossus for the first time ever at the park :/ and having Slammer, one of my favourites, shut. So yeah, it actually wasn't that bad but it was really busy which made it a not so great day.Oh, and as for getting on SAW twice, I joined the queue again at 6:50, 10 minutes before the park AND queues shut, so basically, anyone still queueing for SAW before 7 still got their ride that was actually pretty cool, riding it in the dark and the park looked really nice with all the ride lights on etc.

Ok, so I went to Thorpe yesterday which was a great day but VERY busy.Got there, had to queue for about half hour to get in but then it was ok from then on.The area round Rush and Vortex etc was quiet at the beginning of the day, literally queued 10 minutes for Rush which was good and managed to have a ride on The Flying Fish and Wet, Wet, Wet.Walked over to Stealth, queued 20 minutes for that then braved the queue for SAW...now I haven't a clue why I decided to queue for 4 hours but I was too excited to ride it to even think about leaving the queue. And it was pretty much the same length all day so...it was leading right up by Samurai and filling the majority of the island with SAW, but with the actors and a nice lady selling hot chocolate, it wasn't actually that bad. There were a few breakdowns in the day, or so I thought. SAW had a number of routine maintenance checks which did lengthen the queue time but they have to do it. Slammer was working in the morning but shut later on in the day.Stealth stopped for a while then started again, although I'm not sure whether it then remained open.Tidal Wave, Samurai and Colossus also stopped for a while and were running with no riders, but again, this could be the routine maintenance checks. As a whole, I enjoyed my day. It was very busy but that's totally my fault for going on easter sunday,As for SAW, I was pleased with it but came to see that a 4 hour queue is so not worth it.If you're interested, my ride count.Wet Wet Wet - 1.The Flying Fish - 1.Rush - 1.Samurai - 1.Time Voyagers - 1.Storm In A Teacup - 1.Rumba Rapids - 1.Loggers Leap - 1.Tidal Wave - 1.Nemesis Inferno - 1.SAW - The Ride - 2.(pretty poor actually).
-
Probably not, they were there yesterday, will be today but then the busiest part of the easter period will be over so...

I went on this yesteday twice. It was my first time and I really liked it.Stupidly, I queued for almost 4 hours to ride it yesterday then from 7 as the park closed, so didn't leave Thorpe till 9, which was actually pretty cool as I rode SAW in the dark, which made the ride more exciting.I loved the inside building and the indoor section of the ride. The first time round, the blades weren't swinging which looked a bit silly, the second time, they were and it looked really effective, especially as you drop down just before it looks like you're gonna ride into them. The part with the crossbows/syringes was quite effective as well, managed to blow everyones hair in different directions which was quite funny.Unfortunately, I didn't get to ride the front which was annoying cos I wanted to but I was able to stop and listen to Jigsaw on the bike both times.I found the ride to be quite bumpy, not entirely smooth but really fast and exciting. It wasn't as scary or as thrilling as I thought it would be but generally, I think Thorpe have done really well with this and a 4 hour queue for the best part of the day proves how popular this is going to be.
-
I actually have to agree. If you get the cup spinning fast enough, you can really feel the force!
-
I received an e mail today as I'm sure many of you have as well and it's just telling us that SAW is open, but also that the queue line will come alive from the 10th April till the 13th, so that answers our question, there will probably be actors within these 3 particular days.

Thorpe have to advertise it some way. It wouldn't grab the interest of anyone if it was just another coaster...ofc it's not the scariest but then again, I'm yet to ride it.
-
Just thought I'd mention that I saw the advert on itv1 a minute ago and it looks so good on the tele. It's probably one of the best Thorpe Park ads and a lot better than last years (with the man in the park). There was also an ad for the annual pass which wasn't so good...
-
Compared to Nemesis, NI isn't as great but tbh, I remember when this first opened at Thorpe and I was too scared to ride it. The look of it really scared me. Now, I love it, it's definitely one of my Thorpe Park favourites - I love the beginning section where you just roll out of the station, through the volcano then speedily up the lift hill. And NI always seems to have low queuing times compared to a lot of other rides at the park, so that's always a bonus
-
That link to the 2nd advert is the best. The way it's filmed is really gripping! Great stuff.
-
Hmm, I take back what I said about Thorpe always updating the site lol, if they're open, they should be listed as available
-
My mates are going tomorrow, they really wanna ride SAW so I wonder if it'll be open for them...
-
Well Slammer was on the unavailable list in the morning but it was then taken off. I think it's really great that the website is constantly updated with ride availability so that way, no one should really complain. Still, people do.
-
I'll be keeping any eye out for that!
-
I think the fact that the outside isn't themed actually adds to the whole experience. The lack of props etc and just the visible rubble and areas of water, this all makes the whole 'SAW' experience more realistic.
-
Perhaps the coaster itself isn't the scariest but everything about it is, the theming etc. Still, I've yet to ride it before I make my mind up.

My friend went yesterday and his picture is really good. It may be from a high angle but it's still quite a good place to have the camera.
