Of-course they have different target audiences, I'm not suggesting literally take 'trick or treat' doors and plonk them down at Thorpe, but take that idea of interactivity and apply it to something else. And you don't need theming, not when you have smoke and lighting. It's what MADE the atmosphere. There was one path between Buccaneer and Vampire, that was filled with smoke, and had a bright light at the end so it made sillohetes. Lots of people started acting like Zombies, it made people laugh. It's just small things like that, that isn't an actual attraction, but added that little something to our day and made it that more enjoyable.Thorpe could do so much. Use project link for parkwide thunderstorms, add strobes as lightning. Add roaming actors, doesn't have to be "BOO" actors, just roaming, looking creepy. Re-theme an attraction just for the event (not Time Voyagers), like they did with Duel (Duel Live!). Fright Nights isn't being done to its full potential.
  3. Okey-pokey, some quick thoughts on my visit yesterday. Conclusion: I had a great time. Enjoyed it far more than I enjoyed Fright Nights, the whole park looked great, staff were friendly and funny, despite working long hours. I found Thorpe's staff around the same times, aggravated, and unfriendly. So it just goes to show you can work long hours, and still put on a smile for guests. I loved the lighting around the park, and the smoke machines everywhere, especially around Transilvania at night, looked stunning. Loads of smoke, and a bright light at the end of the path, making everyone have zombie-esque silhouette, brilliant! Vampire also looked great lit up red, as did fury look great with its flames. Vampires tunnel was pumped FULL of smoke, and had some new strobe/chasing lighting put in. Hocus Pocus had bright lights shining stuff onto it, and the surrounding trees, also looked great. 'Trick or Treat' stand looked popular, with a big crowd, got some people laughing. Music, was changed for pretty much every major ride. Just looked great, in general. That said though, I wish they didn't have the tacky pumpkin streamers thing across some building. Also the roaming people/actors on Segway was a nice touch.

Chessington was much of an *event*, Thorpe wasn't. I mean Chessington had smoke all around the park, witches cauldrons over the place, fire, lights, lazer things at the front of Hocus Pocus, red lighting, green lighting, and most importantly interactive things around the park such as 'Trick or Treat'. Every ride at Chessington also had some halloween music, nightmare before christmas, Halloween soundtrack, Exorcist etc. It was just a better atmosphere! I felt like it was an actual event, and I knew it was one, without having to go on any scare mazes, ala Thorpe.

OMG TOMMY! I'm so freakin' happy for you. You had the balls to tell your parents, wow!I really want to tell my rents, I mean, really, especially now I have a boyfriend. They're kinda gonna get suspicious if he is always over, and I'm always going out to see him. Hmm. I just don't want them to reject me, and I really can't tell how they'll react. But yes Tommy, *uber hug* hehe.

Stop silly Mac VS PC crap please, does my head in as much as it does, well yours.I don't care what OS you use, fact is I'm happy with mine. Fact is I don't need to rely on 3rd party antivirusjesuscrap software to use my system on a daily basis. I think the whole "it's because Macs don't have large market share thing" is utter crap. Hackers make viruses for publicity, for kicks, that's what they do. It's for kicks. Imagine the kicks of a wide spread Mac virus. The fundamentals of OS X don't allow for viruses to propagate around like they do on Windows. Yes no system is perfect, but OS X is a damn sight lot more secure than Windows will ever be. Why? Because about 6 years ago they actually started from scratch, whilst Windows still has support for DOS and has become a patched mess. That is all.
  22. Phill replied to Marc's topic in Stuff
Yes Windows has a larger base, but imagine the publicity, a Mac virus reaking havoc. That alone is incentive for any hacker, publicity. There has never been a wide spread Mac virus, worm, Trojan, or anything like that at all, ever.
