  1. The second powercut?! :)

I think the worst situations (or where I'd be most scared) is either in the middle of Hocus Pocus hall or at the top of the final hill on Dragon Falls, just before the drop

What about Vampire, at the highest point?

Its also caused problems at all of the UK merlin parks. The servers for Thorpe, Alton, Lego etc etc are all run directly through Chessignton, hence why there were no card machines at Thorpe (last weekend I believe) and also for a few hours today.

Why the hell are servers for other parks run from Chessie? Is it the theme park or Merlin's offices in Barwell Business Park they're run from? This must've been pretty scary stuff, yet for passers-by, interesting. What time did yesterday's powercut happen and do we do know what rides were half way through when it got cut off?
  2. No they don't. They follow rules. It all depends how many staff are on the ride, if there isn't enough then they can't batch until the ride has cleared of guests.

I know they follow the rules, but what I'm saying is that some staff leave guests waiting behind the wooden gate until the ride has started, whereas some let people through just as the people in front are stepping off Slammer.
  3. No, I don't work on Vampire, I heard it playing louder last Sunday, and the station was just as packed when I went in June and it was playing quieter. It's instantly noticeably louder the second you get inside the station.I know the re-ride.net version has 7 dongs on the church bell, but for a few seconds worth of a long track that's different to the original, it just ain't worth it. It's the same with the Colossus drums.

  4. Might be easier to purchase a poncho? :P I have had mine for over 2 years and it still does the job nicely! :P

I am not spending £5 on a piece of plastic to shove over me, only to look like a right retard, when I can change into my own clothes for at no cost! I am Theme Park bloke, I am brave and do things properly.
  5. But I guess its not Thorpe Parks fault that she only got on 3 rides

Well whose fault is it then, it's hardly the visitors fault, is it?!

(look at how this year, Saw and Colossus are packed early whilst Inferno and Stealth are empty for the first hour or so).

I cannot believe how busy I've seen Colossus' queue this year, it's like :P and then you think " :P , look at that queue."
  6. Just to let you know that the Vampire audio is the common copy.It was probably the one played with the older trains. It is still played today but there are some slight differences.e.g.

    • "Real Vampire station" has 5 church dongs whereas "common" copy has 7.
    • There are 2 animated laughs in the "Real" station which is not on the "common" copy.
    • The "real" music loops whereas the "common" one does not.
(Just thought I'd point that out)! :)
It's available on re-ride.net.Also, they've finally turned the music up in the Station!
  7. Quantum still has a bit of a kick but it's so rare these days that it does feel like a lot of effort to go on it. Shame really, 5 years ago it was defintily up there with Detonator and Colossus as the best rides on park.

I think a lot of people forget about Quantum because of it's location. Yet most of us walk past it went entering the Lost City, all they need to do to get people to notice it more is to cut down the greenery behind it to reveal it. Passers-by will then notice it more. If it's neighbour Rush is visible, then this can be too.
  8. Now that we know a little more of what is happening in the soon-to-go Beanoland, this kinda tells us that nothing major will change with Bubbleworks next year, apart from the sponsorship removal. Would I be right in thinking this? Also, the SeaLife Centre was only planned for 2 years when it was put in last year, therefore it would have to go at the end of this year. Are they intending to keep SeaLife for another year or two? It would be a shame to lose it.

  9. There is a lot of speculation generally at the moment that Michael Jackson's death was planned. You've only got to Google it to get lots of results where lots of websites are debating it.I'm interested to know the following from people here:

    • Do you believe his death was planned?
    • Is his death bigger than Elvis'?
The recent Channel 4 documentary highlighted some interesting points, such as the incident in 1984 where a lightbulb exploded above him, showering him with glass. Therefore he needed drugs for the rest of his life. It also talked about Jacko going to bed with the agreement of 10 concerts planned, and waking up the following morning with the agreement of 50 concerts. The documentary also mentioned that his finances had been studied, and he was spending £20-30 million more than he could afford (I can't remember if it was per month or year etc). These 3, as well as his spiralling debts, the closure of his Neverland ranch that he said he never wanted to return to, and the haunting childhood abuse he suffered from his father, all add up to speculate that whether Jackson, at just over 50 years old, had really had enough and arranged to end his life? We've all seen this clip where he's announcing his O2 concerts - famously titled This Is It, is it possible that if Jackson had done 10, 25 or 50 concerts, would his death have been planned after them? This Is It - 3 carefully chosen words, hinting a planned end to Jackson's life?Posted ImageNow look at his hand in this picture below - a bad quality picture or a hint of self-abuse?Posted ImageI am unsure of what to think, and it's not nice to think that his death could have been planned. But when you look at all these, and others, your mind does wonder as to whether his death was planned?R.I.P Michael Jackson.
