Went to see Avenue Q this evening. Well, I was actually dragged along.Best drag-along ever. I thought it was awesome.Daniel Boys was amazing. It was all amazing. And I covered some lucky people down in the stalls with m&ms. It was one of those explosive packets that never opens. Did I mention I was up on the balcony? Haha, good times.I swear some guys on here were talking about the totally catchy music in it, and did some one post a link to an Avenue Q Zip on Rapidshare... or something? I remember it somewhere, and have just been through 13 pages of songs and lyrics. All I found was that James wrote the Avenue Q lyrics on there... nicely done.

Saw- Construction Thread
Oh but there will There's a sign next to the main ride sign that says "Please be aware that there will be live actors in the queueline today..." ClickyActually IN the queueline, or NEXT to the queueline is to be seen. I want to be scared.. but not that scared.Cleverly that stuff isn't printed on the main board, so I'd imagine they'll just cover it up/remove it when the park is DEAD. Mwahahaha. Dead right.I'll stop with the dead jokes.

Saw- Construction Thread
This SAW topic is hotting up!!Does anyone else think that the live actors will be behind/out of the queue line for example if you walk through a bathroom and there's a guy on the floor screaming out in pain and warning you to GET OUT, if somewhat jumpily. Or like there's someone with their head in some trap... a strobe flickers as a timer counts down and then cuts out all together and you hear it snap open?Do you think they'll actually be IN the queueline (similar to if they walked up and down the queue like in XNWO and hide and jump out) or whether they'll be beyond whatever fence/railing/divide that's inside. But then it says the 'don't touch the actors'... so maybe they'll be close enough for that to be possible... (or it could just be general signage with live actors). If the actors are AS scary as Jigsaw it'd take some of the credit from Jigsaw... They'll CERTAINLY invoke a real sense of fear. You might have guessed I'm *not* a fan of live actors! Or perhaps... they'll be the victims of traps, like a guy that lays on the floor and you think 'that's just a dead person, I'd better step over him' and he does the typical last minute RARGH. Hopefully there's the whole safety in numbers with the whole section of the queue experiencing the scare together... But then what if there's a Thorpe Park guy batching a set of so many people every now and then into the inside FEAR queue. Bye bye life. Haha. (At least it doesn't say they can touch you or give you a warning about Latex...I think).

Yarrgggggghhh. Mine expired last Sunday. I thought there was little point in renewing if you work there! But... I don't start 'till the 16th. So, yeah, just yaaaaaarrg. Tpkapz, you were successful right? Hoping so!But...1. Proper damn good idea, making it just Annual Pass holders. Makes them feel special and totally value-for-moneyed.2. Ride it first competition = failure ? (So far Zombie McBride and her hubby have had a photo on it, but that's all... )

I'm actually thinking of naming this post Quote Post Gone Mad. I just couldn't stop clicking quote. Wey heeyyyyyy. (Yep, I'm 18). + =A la train. *Gasp*. I hadn't been gasping at that, but everyone else I've told has gasped. So the gasp is really there to give you an accurate representation of the situation, without admission of guilt. Sorry, I swear I had that in a reply from Vodafone once.My company induction is the 7th March. My rides one is the 8th March. And just for heart attack purposes, I actually got *two* calls yesterday! The first one I swear I sounded like some stupid little girl on helium. The second, was an adjustment of dates so the two inductions were nearer each other. And then the FANTASTICAL person said "shall I just e-mail you these?". Hahaha. Good times. Excitingness rating has increased. God knows why! I think I seriously have a Thorpe Park problem. I love it WAYYYY too much.So for an attempt at spreading the joy... there's Haha! And Release the hugs.

Jobs at Thorpe Park
Thaaaaanks guys!I applied for Rides & Attractions, was told about the Experience / Thrills divide, and mentioned I was particularly interested in Thrills. The loooovely lady on the phone said 'Rides Host' which I'm guessing covers every aspect of rides possible, from filtering the queue (I mean like that Nemesis Inferno bit before you go up all those stairs), to platforming and maybe even (grins cheekily) operating them? But seriously. Wow. This is just great. And great is an understatement. Now, to resign. (Not from Thorpe, obviously!)

Puzzles & Riddles
Cue the world's easiest. A plane crashes exactly on the equator. Officials from the countries either side of the equator decide in a meeting upon which side to bury the survivors. Which side of the equator did they choose?

Jobs at Thorpe Park
Ok I still never heard anything back. Is anyone else thinking they've completely forgotton me?I rang in, left a message on the recruitment voicemail and am now awaiting...still.Honestly honestly honestly. I am still positive, but should I be ready to feel like a ride on detonator without any restraints?

Food Outlets
Is 'Crust' an annual-pass-discountable food outlet? It just always seemed less "donut + hotdog", so I assumed it wasn't. Is it run by Thorpe?

Three things...1) You're damn right Waiting for Merlin to get back to you after an assessment is an EXTREMELY anxious period2) Thank you! I completely love you. But not like that. Now I can remain sane for a maximum of another 24 hour period.3) Were you successful at Chessington? Hope so! Were you successful Mark? And how the heck did they contact you in the end!? (This was Thorpe Park, right?)

Jobs at Thorpe Park
Hello from the world's now most officially over-anticipated-completely-hyped-and-almost-dead-from-the-waiting guy.I went to the Assessment Centre last Wednesday, they said they'd let you know within 7 days (I know it says 14 on the website, but the guy said 7 and some else who'd just finished their interview said it was 7).Perhaps in this time of eager anticipation, I can't count, but surely 7 days from LAST Wednesday runs out today? They said they e-mail you if it's a NO and phone you if it's a YES.I resisted the urge to want to say 'I'll keep my phone nearby then'. That would have made me a cocky git.But I haven't heard ANYTHING.I've checked my e-mails (wishing majorly for nothing to be there...) and been jumping at every text (not like there's millions, but you know) on my phone.I knew I really wanted to the job before this *waiting zone* began. But now I ultra-extremely-upgraded-for-2007 want the job. In my eyes it's got to be one of the best jobs on the planet. But I've heard nothing... and so the paranoia begins. Is it: no contact because they've lost my documents... no contact because it's a no and someone's cocked up sending the e-mail out... no contact for some bizarre unknown other reason which I completely can't think of. "No news is good news...? Good things come to those who wait?... Applicants should receive their reply within 7 days...?"Should I ring them? Yes I am way too eager but that might seem pushy. Then again, they might think someone has contacted me where they haven't.I'm more confused than the story of X:\NWO. Arggggggh. I want to join in the excitement. I'd give it my all, and just hope I've persuaded them. What do I do? I'm throwing myself at the mercy (and rather helpful) advice of you LOVELY people.x

Love it!I have a boringly unfunny question- you know when you're browsing the forum, and it shows whose online, are...Google.com, Google Adsense, Yahoo.comactually, well, what you'd think?I might be the biggest fool in history. I am aren't I?

Jobs at Thorpe Park
Thanks Michaela! I'm guessing you worked at Thorpe but don't any more? How many people do they usually want from their assessment centre days? I mean do they usually pick quite a few, or just a few (I'm talking complete crap! Sorry!)? Were you in Rides then? It's odd 'cos I asked how many people work at TP on the day and they said 700 in peak season, 200 in closed season. Does that sound right? I mean 700 staff... am I being stupid, it just seems one hell of a lot. After my random waffling I shall now go outside and stick my head inside an upside down oven, just to confuse myself.

Haha. Yes, I suppose I did forget to mention which Assessment Centre, but this topic is Jobs at Thorpe Park! 14 days, eh? Oh joy, I so wanna know now. I'm such an impatient muppet.

Hey, has anyone who went to the Assessment Centre on Wednesday heard anything back yet? I might be a bit too over eager, but I can't bear the waiting!

Miss Hippos Fungle Safari
PRE-COMMENT WARNING: I hate rumours based on random crap, I wouldn't post this unless I believed it to be true.I was at the Assessment Centre on Wednesday, and in my individual interview, I said how Thorpe parks rides are second to none (IMHO). The guy interviewing me said that Thorpe Park was just developing and still had a lot of growing to do (sounds really positive!). He said 'M.H.F.Safari' had been removed ready for development for a new ride for 2010 and there would be another coaster in 2 years!Reading it back it could be regarded as utter shizz. But it's what he said! Just thought I'd throw it into the discussion. I don't do rumours, I heard it from thsi guy - it could be inaccurate but he said it, and I was ridiculously excited by it!

Ticket Prices
So this year's main season 'on the gate' price is £35. (Alton's main season OTG price is £36).Didn't THORPE PARK start with £32 last year, then put it up to £33 *somewhen* between main season and summer, and then put it up again to £34 just before Fright Nights? If that's right, do you think we'll be expecting £37 on the gate entry to Fright Nights?I know there's virtually no one who pays the gate price, with all the Annual Pass and 2 for 1 deals but still, a little bit ouch.Nick Varney (the guy in charge of Merlin) said...“When people say to me we are expensive - well, for six to eight hours of high-quality entertainment and education, a clean environment and great customer service, then I say: ‘Please tell me why that's expensive.'”Interview: http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle4601944.eceJust thought I'd throw this in and see what people think. I know everyone thinks Thorpe should clear up their park (and maybe act) a bit, but I for one think that since Merlin appeared on the scene they are trying their hardest to change things for the better. But still, does that justify a one day £35 entry?!
