Why would Thorpe Park want to buy land behind Nemesis? I'm sure Alton Towers are not up for selling..
-
'Coming out of your seat' also known as 'air time' and that's one of the things that make Rush so exciting!
-
I totally agree with Markus number nine. Oblivion is a one trick pony, but is totally world class. Tussaud's say Oblivion 'cost' 12 million and Thorpe bragged Stealth also 'cost' 12 million. Oblivion was a world first and is up there as one of my favorite roller coasters in the world. They also say Saw cost more and I fear the higher the 'cost' of a roller coaster, the more the great British public think it's gonna be "well gud".

Remember, the infilling in those pictures is not where the hotel is planned to be and any infilling of any kind, needs to be compensated by sinking else where. They can't just loose water when they feel like it!

An upcharge attraction like those cool boats on the lake at Alton! No?

"I want" doesn't get a thing I'm afraid and the only chance of having a planned rollback is to ask the operator to e-stop the ride half way down the launch track. They would however, loose their job, so be prepared to pay them a fair bit of cash in compensation.

I certainlly would have liked a lot more, even leaving off the trims on the bunny hop, going from that, into a nice overbanked turn, low to the ground and then slows to it's stop. WORSE, I think cutting the queueline grand stand was a bit rubbish, that would have looked awesome! Still, the park wanted it to focus on the launch and as short as it is, it grabbed the crowds and still does.

Think Tomb Blaster, or infact Belize Bob's (SP?) at Adventure Island. It's not scary at all.

Samurai's settings are easily changable by the operator, although sometimes some of them can cause trouble with the ride 'zeroing', so are not used. Others are longer, or shorter, depending on the queue size (although, some operators totally ignore that to offer their favorite setting). I'm unaware if the settings have been re-programmed this season, the ride is totally hit or miss. Ask the operator nicely if you want a setting changed and I'm sure they will help you out, but don't blame them if you don't have a good ride!

It is a wonderful video, although it baffles me, why there is so much Zodiac footage and nothing from Rush.Yes, the old Fish there does look very beautiful.

For the obvious reasons, I expect that's why the Frisbee hasn't appeared. Wayy to, although better (IMO) than Vortex. If you want a look at some decent flats, a lot can be found here:http://www.flatrides.com/

LOL Did you have your eyes closed? The shot gun trap is before the stairs and very loud, so you shouldn't have missed that and yes, the body in barbed wire is on the stairs, if you look up and through a window at the top of the stairs in the loading area. Lots to see, means you will be keeping a sharp eye on your next visits!

The warmer it get's the less likely rollbacks are. Although, that doesn't mean they never happen..

A Huss Jump 2 I believe, an idea thrown around a few years back for an area around Stealth, but they are mighty ugly and there are a lot more unique rides I'd like the park to consider. Remember, it's not just a case of finding the scariest flat ride to dump into a certain space. A lot is considered before hand. The Giant Frisbee, also from Huss is something that recently, was also an idea I had caught wind of at the park. Although I believe the capacity is only of 500 and with the obvious flaws of being another swing ride, again, I'm hoping for something a little more unique.

You can't change the settings on Quantum. What the operator is doing is guest interaction.Quantum is on a 'friendly' setting and is better in the afternoon once it's warmed up. Dependent of weight, but tbh, the ride does pretty much what it wants to!

There is enough eyes here and I'm sure 'someone' is already on it.

Although, I do hate local moaners, it seems to be very British.. however, remember a lot of them down Norlands Lane or in Thorpe village may have lived there longer than 2000 where things really took off at Thorpe. If someone has just moved in, then yes I agree, you know what to expect.

Well to be fair, like RCT3 a ride exit leading into a new ride queueline would be perfect! The N:I queueline is further away than Colossus and Saw's would be. Although, I fully, fully expect the new coaster to be on the infill behind Stealth and I would expect planning to be a tricky one having Norlands Lane even closer to that future development site.I also would have thought, the park would have looked into moving the quieter rides from the 'City' to the new land fill, even OG, giving them more space on the older Thorpe land, further from local streets. I would really enjoy that, purely to see some of the seriously old 30 year old path ways that have been dug up endless times, finally replaced with new paving. That way all quiet rides could be in that direction as on a windy day, you'd be suprised how far noise can travel. An old member of staff used to live a way down Staines Road and she could sometimes hear the Colossus theme and the ride leaving the lift hill. I myself before the roundabout, could hear the police siren and dog bark from Saw too!

I expect the area will become one day, home to another flat. I hope they, although having caused a few headaches, go for something as original and unique as the two S&S rides they opted for in 2005.One final note, reading "there's no point in having another coaster next to N:I" seems a bit daft, imagine the carousel missing, there is a large area-even larger including the arena, that could hold a nice little coaster, even with a Jungle theme if they were to consider themeing. Up until last year, you could have said, there's no point in adding another coaster right next to Colossus, but they did.

Yes, we'd all like thrills to be thrown at us, but you also have to remember, Merlin have just spent a great deal of cash on Dylan and will be looking forward to the great deal of cash it will make for them. Next year, they really will not be putting their hands as deeply into their pockets and will squeeze another year from Saw. Even more so if they have SW6 cash being spent at the towers.

I er, SAW that video a while back and thought it would be really good. I hoped we would have seen some spinning blades at the first indoor stop point and the 'heads up' at the indoor lift is a nifty idea too. Still, I'm far from moaning, the actual ride is still a very good standard in the UK IF the effects are running. Will be very silly when they all stop.JoshC you say things in that video aren't feesable? How about a ride that blasts you to the moon, from an enormous cannon, in a pume of smoke, the cannon can react to the all mighty blast as the trains dissapire into an adventure through space, missing planets, flying through the center of a giant metior in a shower of sparks...your speed growing as you fly beside a massive super nova that's wildly exploding.......you get the point. Every single thing is feesable with the right amount of cash.

Firstly, a coaster the size of Rattlesnake could EASILY fit into the Fungle space. Please remember whatever goes in it's place does not have to have the EXACT footprint size. There is space right behind it and up to the Monks Walks fence, plenty of space, even for an S&S El Loco-if they ever went there! Second of all, if 'a friend' 'who works for Merlin' has told you something about the future of the site, knowing you are unable to post what it is, please don't brag you know and 'can't say', it's a tad annoying and doesn't make anyone look clever.

Ugh, does anyone read the previous posts here? The pipes need to be cleaned, they won't be 'on' for a while until they've been sorted..unless you want your clothes stained? It's nothing to do with the weather!
-
To be fair, the first few seasons of original Fish saw the little green fishy going round a muddy hill. That too took a while to look like what it did before 2005, so ther's still hope.

As annoying as the ride being unavailable all day??As far as the Yorkie stuff goes, yes it's very ugly, but I expect it gone after Easter. Phew!
