  1. OR, H&S decided the area was unsuitable for guests to be wondering around on as the bricks may have come loose from years of use? I wouldn't look into that much, they just redone a road near me but I'm not expecting a new building to sprout from it.

It was bound to happen, more than half of the days last year where extended due to popular demand!
  3. So glad I've got a road trip booked for March/April time next year!
  4. Whilst I never liked paying extra, I think £5 for standard pass holders is very good for the addition of 5 horror attractions as well as 12 hours of rides. Alton on the other hand, you may still get in free, providing of course they haven't hit capacity, however £5/£6 (can't remember think it was £6) is FAR too steep for a maze which where never particularly good... I never went in sanctuary so can't really comment. But The Boiler House & Carnival of Screams where terrible! And most of of all not worth a penny let alone over a tenner for two.
  5. I think BETFRED would make a fortune on the odds 'will the camera be returned'
  6. ^ Not particularly difficult, swarm has quite a bland lay out!

Was open on the worst setting I've ever had!
  8. Whilst you can argue it had money spent on it, you can argue that it didn't. From what I recall, they didn't really do anything to it, they just painted everything black put some plastic flaps up and stuck a bag that couldn't see through over your head. I don't think it's lack of actors, I think it's more people where more worried about the bag that was stupidly big for their head twisting/falling off then actually paying attention to the maze. The several times I went through it, the bag was so useless I ended up walking into several walls, walking into other group members, walking into the actors trying to scare me. It just lost the entire feel of being 'dead' or in any shape or form inside a horror maze. If The Passing hadn't had silly bags it probably would of been a good maze.
  9. After hour's of work, I bring you this! http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/page/info_frightnights Information will be updated as and when it's released
  10. Well I'm sure there is a tonne of information yet to come, we will just have to sit tight!
  11. Out of interest has anyone brought up the "Merlin haven't gone for a black/grey coaster" yet?
  12. Oh, insidious <3 awesome film!
  13. Theme Park Collective. Lol. That is all.
  14. After just 3 hits? It's called 'hype building' for a reason, and it's working.
  15. Another little update, Courtesy of ThemeParksItalia
  16. Going back to my post about Twisted Pictures logo, here is a HD video of said intro into films produced by Twisted Pictures: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2GHo0Hmx1k
  17. I was think more the twisted pictures logo, the logo is swarmed with barbed wire then release to give a torn/slashed feel:
  18. ^ This is all speculation, I very much doubt they are toning the scares down for 2013 at least due to the fact they released information as such in a couple of areas: I doubt they would go full out with 'the best minds in horror entertainment' to then go, well we want a family friendly park so we are working with the best minds but we aren't going to use that against you.
  19. Well what do you know.... http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/news/18-08-2013/Fright-Nights-2013-Logo
  20. I recon some point throughout Sun SCREAM we will see some kind of announcement. If they leave it longer than that the desired effect on anything new won't be the same.
  21. ^ Which after all is Marketing's main objective...
  22. The floor is concrete, the queue line barriers where made of a soft metal ( I think they were aluminium) so they aren't hard enough to damage the floor, as for the mazes themselves they where put on wooden frames whih where on stilts which as you said, are on rubber anti-grips so the worst that can happen is a few black smudges, which doesn't matter as the beach is repainted every year
  23. I wouldn't be so certain, With IP's it's always contracted from both sides, generally speaking in Theme Park's, the contract will have stated that it must be done to the supplier/owner of the IP's standards. So for instance - Let's say that the rumours are true and that there is an I.P to FN to give it a whole new vibe, Thorpe would sit down with that I.P discuss the different options to have then individually go through each idea and discuss for example: What the benefits of 'X' idea is, How creative 'X' idea could be, Does 'X' idea suit the target market Does 'X' idea have a theme that can be referenced to 'Fright Nights' If 'X' idea is to be carried out where would 'X' idea go, how long would it be, what layout should it be, what areas of the story should 'X' idea be focussed on A lot more options/ideas of 'X' idea - variations of the story/theme etc When they have finalised their concept of 'X' idea they would forward it on to the IP supplier, who will say yes or no - Also, it will likely be a case of 'We like this idea, however can you incorporate this into it somewhere, perhaps in this 'Y' location or this 'Z' location. So in essence, the creativity is beyond anyone's imagination, and strangely enough if it was Lionsgate who have been brought in, they have a long list of films they can put forward as ideas. Also note that they are one of the most twisted distributors of horror films currently in existence. To me they are the best people who could of been approached, after the likes of SAW The Ride + Saw Alive. Some for example, as already mentioned and hinted at are: Dead Silence, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Possession. Just done some research, and Lionsgate as a company have distributed over 450 films since 1967, which the full list can be viewed here: http://www.imdb.com/company/co0060306/

Well, Benin, It's been a trait for coasters fans for YEARS to compare park's reliability, to which nobody particularly cared. For instance, when Thorpe had diabolical reliability everyone jumped on the bandwagon, suddenly Alton have terrible reliability and people (you) are defending it with your life. Isn't it humorous your complaining about people comparing parks/rides, and yet yourself, in your post, compared rides in another park(s) to other parks by pointing out their reliability is worse than that of Alton's/other parks.

The baggage hold, is rather interesting. Mostly due to the fact, It's the batcher's fault. They have slipped into the 'lazy' staff member trait and gone for the 'Don't stop anyone from the main queue so there is always a constant influx of guests making the bagroom work harder than everyone'. When they can be 'bothered' they actually do stop the main queue to let Fastrack & Backwards queue through. I don't think it's a case of looking at the operation of the baggage hold, I think its more the entire Swarm team need a slap with a kipper and retrained on how to professionally and fairly use a batching/merge point.
