Wish I could spend my time looking over theme park forums instead of being at work on a Saturday... Oh wait, best of both worlds I guess. Still, I'd rather be at home than at my desk.

I remember when I went a couple of weeks ago and the operator looked so bored, thats why I thought he was making up the story about the bees on Dragons Fury I mentioned on the thead earlier. I guess I should be more trusting.

I wasn't tying to kick up any sort of fuss as you say regarding my nephews height. I just wanted to know how strict it was regarding entry. I understand that the restrictions on rides are there for safety and would never want my nephew to be put in any kind danger. Although this post may not be entirely aimed at me, more something that my comment triggered, I would like to say I was in not way trying to make people's jobs harder or kicking up any **** as you say.

I think its a terrible idea to put up those shields, if people want to use the pistols to get riders (more) wet then they themselves should be able to get it back. Protecting them from the splash made by the boats is stupid. Perhaps we can lobby to get Thorpe to install water pistols that are mounted and aimed at the original pistol shooters... Fight fire with fire (or water with water).

I think that even I (being a fan of the films) would have trouble sleeping in a Saw themed rooom!

Thats why I mentioned the time of day, as it doesnt seem to spin as wildly with two people on one side in the mornings. Still doesnt lose it enjoyment though!

Perfect! It's also not the type of announcement that makes your 4 year old nephew keep repeating it all day.

So was Vampire... Well, everything was.Regarding the spinning of the cars on Dragon's Fury, is it all to do with spreading the weight proportionately or does time the time of day have an effect (ie. once its warmed up as it where)?

I can safely say there were no reports of bee attacks today and lucky for me, once again, Dragon's Fury was walk on!

I am really not a fan of these announcements.

Just got back from Chessington where, Dragons Fury was closed because, so I was told by a helpful (to be proven) operator, a swam of bees had set upon people mid ride. Can anyone confirm this? Does it happen alot?The last time I went I did notice alot of wasps near to the station entrance I just guessed it was because it was so soon after the easter holidays and they had stayed around thinking more sweets and drink would be spilt?

Will the SWAT team be waiting outside the entrance now?

I do like Vampire but find it a little to ricketty, my head just seems to get thrown all over the place, still can never complain about the section after the second lift hill. Thanks again.

Hello, I wasnt sure whether to ask this in the general discussion thread or start a new one, I hope I've made the correct choice. I'm taking my nephew to Chessington on Thursday. I was wondering how strict the height limit for free entry is? My nephew is 108cm tall and I'm aware that children under a metre tall go inside for free. I'm not trying to sound like a cheapskate but I would apprieciate if you could let me know how strict it is or if it is better that I buy a ticket online and avoid paying more on the day. I'm not cheap, its just nice to save a bit of money from time to time.Thank you.

Although this not mean alot to all of you, I was waiting outside Samurai on Tuesday whilst waiting for Saw to open. At about half 11- 12, it stopped after the intiatal ride, during its return to ground. The ride stopped mid air during its time where it should have been lowered down to ground. It stayed in that position for about half an hour untill a ride operator did something to lower the ride back to its usual loading position. It didnt open again that day (as far as I'm aware).Has it re-opened since?

Does anyone know if the Saw branding on the ride is a fixed term sponsorship (like Ribena Rumba Rapids or Beanoland) or will it forever be Saw: The Ride?

As much as id love to attend on the 13th, I'm going to wait it out... Ive paid enough to get an annual pass for this year and although its only 5 pounds and I can get the day off, ill just leave it till I get down there on the 18th. 5 days isnt that much too worry about. Either way ill be heading down to Thorpe on my own and perhaps the nice people queing for the ride will let me past if I mention I'm a single rider... You lovely people wouldnt mind that would you?

I wish that were possible, wake up walk down the road and there it is... A huge theme park outside my door, and on it's own island.On subject, I don't feel the industry is going downhill, the vision is there but it's going to have to be slowed down due to this fragile time. Let's face it what we have is great, be it in need of some tlc. The UK will never be as desireable as the US for tourism and money to spend.

Perhaps they didn't actually ride it. Maybe it was simply a publisity stunt. Although I doubt it... But then again I've only seen a little picture, is there any others?
