BBC opening with "...closed for the forseeable future" ...which I suppose is technically true in that, a date is not confirmed, but also, a bit dramatic and negative.... but then - clicks are clicks innit. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c3ggnedn9rmo

I honestly think what's gonna happen now is, without fanfare, the night before it's due to open, Thorpe will say "It's opening tomorrow guyz" and that way no one can really moan. Ish.
-
If it does re-open on the 11th, do I get a certificate plz, thanks xox
-
It's gonna be the 11th innit. At least I'll get to experience opening day v2.0 haha. I guess that notice would imply that they need to get X amount of testing done and that won't be possible in less than 2 days...
-
Saw being added to the unavailable list for tomorrow soon I would imagine, unless it's quicker to get the parts in than it is get them out! EDIT: I might have spoken too soon - both the lifting clamps/struts have now come back down from the lift hill so maybe we are in luck.... fingers & wings crossed.

Indeed. I would anticipate that if Saturday is off the table, they would update tonight ideally, tomorrow at the latest. Not that I'm searching Hyperia on X on the daily (spoiler: I am), here's the latest: Someone else on Twi...X has spotted that the train has water dummies loaded on it already....
-
Maybe the fire effect is on if the water is off 🤪
-
Just cos you're an influenza M8 and have been on it already and had your golden moment....
-
SAW remains closed tomorrow, ride availability page has been updated. Those chancing it for Saturday will be getting nervy...
-
They aren't messing about! Park isn't even open and the crane is up already!
-
Yep, very true - I'm hoping Saturday 8th is a worst case scenario so they are managing expectations - I'm due to visit on Tuesday 11th so would be good if it does open at least a few days before then so I can see what kinda queues to expect!
-
That would certainly make sense. I see the Hyperia shop is now open. I get it, make money but it's giving me DBGT PTSD.
-
Any ideas what that is? Lift motor/drive wheel?
-
Spelling isn't always Thorpe's socialz strong point. Maybe now is a good time to bring out a Fright Night's construction video to divert attention and think of more positive times xoxo

Was off to the Northern line m8. Yes - was thinking the same - surely they will have to pull adverts or reissue with extra text that says "Opening soon" at the bottom... Feel like we need a statement from our Queen, Alice, to quell the rumours and explain what's going on. This is the only way the situation can be fixed.

Just announced - they cannot commit to opening before 8th June. Yikes! Most definitely not a sick one. What an absolute disaster - and I don't think that's an exaggeration. Still, will give them a chance to put more plants in.
-
I was waiting for some PP insight, much appreciated. Will my visit for 11th June be OK, in the form of a song please? One would imagine that if Hyperia is not planned to open on Thursday, they'd be announcing that by park close today?

-
Wonder if they'll use this down time to work more on the landscaping and finishing touches, perhaps?
-
Been a while since I've seen that on Stealth, that's brilliant to hear. Long may it continue!
-
When speculating over potential opening dates, I remember it coming up that it'd be a touch risky opening right on Half Term... I know that a ride can have issues at any time but it was quite some roll of the dice. The adverts are in overdrive for Hyperia too, seen so many on TV. Not ideal, and here's hoping that it opens on Thursday and isn't delayed any further...
-
That time period announcement screams a broken part, no?
-
I can let you know after I've been on the 11th! The dynamic pricing on the website at least gives you an idea of which days are quieter. At a wild guess - 90-120 minutes for half term, then 30-60 on weekdays start of June?
-
Dynamic ticket pricing for tomorrow now up to £52... I think the most it can get up to is £59 then it's a sell out, from memory? Similarly though, am very surprised tomorrow isn't sold out. Going to be interesting to see how the crowd management goes, hats off to Thorpe for the prep on that one. Hyperia one shot Fasttracks are priced at £20.... I wouldn't even consider that price point personally but some evidently would and will do so. But then, if that's the case, then it's priced right I suppose!
