  1. Note to anyone thinking of coming by train - just found out that South West Trains are running their Winter Sale promotion which means that if you are travelling from a SWT station to Guildford, the ticket will be £10 return, bargain! http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/wintersmiles.aspx Normally my ticket from Portsmouth - Guildford return would be £22.50
  2. I'd be surprised if queueing inside the cave is deemed safe any more thanks to H&S!
  3. Said this myself a few pages back - I still hope to be pleasantly surprised but I reckon it won't be back until the Summer. If we're lucky.
  4. That would make sense - you probably wouldn't want to get a Tidal-Wave soaking of lake water, but for Loggers & Rumba it's fine
  5. I'm still wondering if we'll see the return of those amazing Abdab models
  6. Yes was just going to say - now referred to as "Resort hotel" or "on site hotel" - I'm sure a 'proper' name will be announced soon. Big thumbs up for the Shark concept art - it would be amazing if something like that did come to fruition. As I said in the 2014 thread - theming wise, Swarm island is a huge thumbs up from me - and what was promised in the plans was delivered, and then some - so hopefully this concept art is another good sign of things to come - and maybe Angry Birds land will be well themed. (It still pains me that Stealth never got it's grandstand, I would've loved it even more if so )
  7. This is the post LiamT is talking about: http://www.towersstreet.com/talk/european-parks-and-attractions/thorpe-park-europe%27s-most-un-resorty-resort/ OK, maybe it's a little over the top in parts, but ultimately, it's pretty spot on - amazing how much "damage" an awful map, CAPITALS, "Say No To BO" etc. can do to the brand image - I.e. cheapening and nastying it... which to me explains why they are sticking the word "Resort" on the end of Thorpe Park. As I keep saying - I just hope Angry Birds Land is pulled off well and a turning point... that said, other than the pointlessness of Swarm backwards, I think 2013 was one of Thorpe's best years in some time, so perhaps last year was the beginning of the change
  8. "A future theme park season" is rather worryingly vague, would hate to see Dragon Falls in it's current state until 2016. If Ramases is back this year, I'll be back - if not, I'm staying away
  9. Adding the word "Resort" does not automatically make Thorpe Park a resort
  10. Care to divulge the reasons? I'm intrigued
  11. I haven't skated for quite a while - so whether I stay on the ice for the whole session remains to be seen Looking forward to this - need to make a note of last train(s) back to Portsmouth
  12. Agree with this - and the same applies to The Swarm. As I say, if the area is as "immersive" as SAW Island or Stealth Island, then I will take my hat off to them
  13. I think Sidders is wary of product/brand tie ins from previous history and I don't blame him - Ribena Rumba Rapids anyone? Tie in finishes, rip out any reference to Ribena and as you were. That said, I am quietly optimistic for the new land - c'mon Merlin, please do your magic! If we have a themed area as strong as Swarm Island we're on to a winner. If it's a couple of fibre glass birds scattered about, then it's a definite must try harder
  14. I hope the name does have INVADED in capitals I do wish THORPE PARK would stop SHOUTING at us
  15. People may or may not be aware, but Detty audio is all here http://thorpeparkmania.co.uk/ride/Detonator/media EXPLOSION! I don't think Detty is being renamed EC! - I would've thought THORPE PARK would've mentioned it in their press release if so?
  16. I'm sure it will be closed until May, I can't see any way that Detonator wouldn't be closed until May - I would've thought that thoroughfare past Detty to Nemesis Inferno will be closed so you have to go via the Teacups and Rumba to get to Nemesis Inferno.
  17. I thought you'd be catching the cider train, Sidders?
  18. Indeedy Mr. pluk! A good friend of mine is a Bose sales specialist and said the same thing.
  19. Thorpe Park Mania to be renamed Thorpe Park That's Enough I Need A Sit Down
  20. £48 is kinda crazy, but I've never ever paid full price, always used BOGOF or similar (I'm not a MAP holder, so shoot me )
  21. Thanks for the review and pictures on the previous page! My gf isn't a coaster fan at all HOWEVER, she wants to go this year purely because a Wallace & Gromit ride exists there. Winner... I've always wanted to go to BPB!
  22. This thread is becoming more exciting and dramatic than Danny Dyer taking over the Queen Vic!
  23. As soon as the frosts have finished for winter, I have pleasure in confirming that TPM will be growing a flower bed celebrating 10 years, similar to this one....
  24. Just to say - skate prices are confirmed as £5.90 and £1.90 for skate hire Looking forward to this, 3 and a bit weeks to go! If anyone is heading up from Portsmouth I'll be getting the train as I say
