Havant in Hampshire, sorry --------------Continuing on with the Chessington vs Thorpe discussion, I must admit that this year I'm slightly more drawn to Chessington due to the new area and the fact I haven't visited for a few years now. I still might do Thorpe as well but at the moment Chessington is top of my list.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the queue did use to go inside through various themed corridors, much longer than it is now but they had to change this due to fire hazards. At least this is what I was told by a friend who rode it a long time back. I do agree that the effects not working is a let down but it is still a fun roller coaster without them.

In the town they have opened the best sweet shop ever. Its called the Olde Sweet Shop and the whole interior is done up like the old days, its all really authentic, I love it. Anyway, I got the best chocolate bar with marshmallows on fudge on. There's my random contribution!
  7. Oh, wow, wow, wow. That does look incredible. Chessington have really gone all out on this new area and it seems that they pulled it off very well. I'm considering a Chessington trip this year now!
  8. I had a fantastic day at Thorpe last July, the morning was dry but around lunch is started raining and the park literally emptied. The queues went down dramatically, Stealth was 10 minutes, Colossus 15... etc. The rest of the afternoon was lovely and we hardly saw anyone else around the park, we were so happy! That said, Saw was still about 70 minutes even in the rain.

As much as I love X, I can only imagine how much better it was in the past. These days your lucky just to have the lighting on the breaks work... Its such a shame as the ride could be so much more with fans and steam. I must admit I do love the ride though, I love how the train stops and then reverses a little on the break runs, its crazy... Which is the idea As Keith said up the page, just the little things could improve it.

    Jobs..

I have just applied for my first ever job - A weekend job at my Church's bookshop... I'm pretty excited about it, seeing as its my first job. Its always the little things in life that make us happy!
  16. I totally agree with you, the price is exactly the same as the dungeons from what I remember but as you said people would much rather queue forever for the dungeons than go to the tombs. If I'm right Merlin tried to sue them them last year for attempting to steal customers, I'm not sure if they succeeded.

I don't watch eastenders but I had to tune in and see the live show and was pleasantly surprised at how well it actually went, obviously there was a few mistakes but it was a good performance and they kept it realistic. I'm still amazed by the final scene where he fell off the rooftop, how they did that in such a short time was amazing. After seeing that I'm now interested in how it ties up this week!

    Glasses

I do all the time and I used to hate them but now Ive just accepted its life and no one really cares that you have glasses I always keep on them for rides, I've only ever been asked once to take them off and that was on Rita yet on Stealth they didn't care I almost lost them on Indiana Jones @ DLP but most the time rides are fine.
  20. Going a little off-topic, what is the London Tombs like? When we went there was no queue and the actors outside were literally begging people to go in, I just assumed it was a rip-off of the Dungeons, is it worth a visit anyone?

Ahhhh, Port Aventura! What a wonderful gem. It beat all my expectations of it and I had a fantastic day there whilst visiting Barcelona. Although I didn't ride many of the thrill rides I had a great time, the theming is great and the atmosphere is nothing like what you get in this country, definitely worth a visit.
  22. My blood test went wrong today, my fricking vein popped! Blood everywhere and I almost fainted. Well, that was a moment I will never forget easily. Rant over...
