Hmm... floor dropping did seem pretty slow. Then again, maybe I'm just getting impatient in my old age and noticing it more. The judder seems to be on certain sets of 4 seats. Rode it twice on Sunday and had the juddering once.

That video brings back good memories! Giving out fantastic cycles and the music makes the adrenaline start pumping too. Can't believe how quickly it lowers back down again compared to the frustrating faffing around it does now (which I hoped would have been sorted when it was completely taken apart...).

Went on it about a month ago and it was fine. Went on it a week a go and also noticed the judder you mention. Came off thinking something was not right, it certainly wasn't a pleasant feeling. Like it needs a good greasing...

Last year the fog machine was used for Vortex.

Man, Colossus has been on one train operation for weeks now. Shame a fault has seemingly come about at the busiest part of the season... Glad that everything else if up and A-Ok.

It is so weird being in Lost City at Thorpe this year. All this 'Top 40' music being played sped & higher pitch makes it seem like a nightclub all day long... catchy music. but totally wrong for the theme. Dragging this topic back up! Dragon's Fury has been shut all this week (and is likely to be for another few days rumours seem). Dragon Falls has also been shut for a few days now. Don't start being like Thorpe

Annoying thing is there has seemingly been a train with seats broken for weeks now. How long does it take to fix seats, seriously - time to invest in a stockpile of commonly used parts Thorpe! I.e. restraints etc... Reminds me of the Detonator situation a few years ago when only 6 or so seats were open for practically the whole year...

It may just be my nostalgia for the ride, but I think the X pyramid looks quite imposing: Especially when it had it's nice path leading up to it, with the misters etc.

I still haven't been on the ride... My (spectator) opinion: Firstly it looks like absolute junk. Secondly it wastes water leaking everywhere. Thirdly it hurts my ears with its constant squeaking. It blocks the view of X and makes the space feel cramped & cluttered. The boats appear to hardly spin any more. I refuse to sit in a boat with feet on floor if it's an inch + deep with water. The queue is always massive for a 30 second ride (after sloooow lift).

It just makes no sense to me how Chessington will have it's longest queues during Halloween season, have additional attractions to experience, and yet only open for 1 hour extra... It won't even be dark at 7pm so no night rides this year guys...

The question is...how many spiderwebs etc did they have to clear out when they recently went back inside for the first time in months...! Looking around an untouched, 'abandoned' Saw Alive certainly would be intriguing. Hopefully all has been sorted after the fire earlier this year and it provides some good thrills.

There was already both shoes from a pair on the nets above the station on our last visit. Probably, if anything, something like that.

I don't think the queue complaints should be dismissed. Certainly I've visited on similar busy days in previous years where the park has been at capacity and the rides (primarily Fury & Vampire) have had such slow moving queues. When I visited the park last week the park wasn't massively busy but still queues were crazy. Over 2 hours for Vampire when the queue is around the black wooden wall 'tunnel' just isn't right. Clearly overselling of fast track is happening. I think one of the quotes was from the Sunday, but the rest were not - so again, you can't just dismiss them as 'Bank holiday busy'. I've seen the issue for at least the past 2 weeks now. Apparently they can't pave over all the grass car parking spaces due to green belt land. But this is not the problem! The grass (when it's not wet and muddy) is actually ok. It's the dirt access roads - aka to get to/from the main road to the parking spaces that have the many many potholes.
