  1. Yeah very much aware that they are not affiliated in any way but I included them to make it fairer as Disney have 6 major parks, Universal has only two. I also took into account the FlexTicket that Orlando offers which includes Sea World, Aquatica, Wet n Wild and Busch Gardens along with Universal and IOA. So that make 6 parks each. Also if you can't choose, why not just think, where would you go to if it was your last chance to go to any. Which one would you go to if you were only in Orlando for a day?
  2. For me Saw is the most fun ride at Thorpe Park.I agree that it it a bit lazy with theming in parts, and I don't think a rollercoaster suits the nature of the films. A Saw ride should have been in Orlando as they would have done so much more with it. Maybe made it a dark ride similar to what Alien Encounter was at Magic Kingdom before they got rid!No its not the scariest rollercoaster but I enjoy it more than any other Coaster in Thorpe
  3. Unfortunately I can't help comparisons to the better and original version at Alton Towers.Inferno is just an OK ride for me. Its very small, very short, and nowhere near as fast as its bigger brother. There is nothing especially unique about the ride. And it never makes me smile like Stealth and Saw does afterwards.Does it thrill me? Not really. Ive been on lots of inverted roller coasters and can safely say that Inferno is not in the same league as Dragon Challenge, Nemesis, Montu etc. I know we're basing this on whether Inferno is better than Saw and Colossus, but its an indication of how unsatsfied I feel after riding it. I would never queue for this ride for longer than 20 minutes and I never come off saying 'that was fun'. There is nothing special about it and no talking points compared to Saw and Stealth. Saw has the uniqueness of the indoor aspect and the drop. Stealth has the launch and its the highest ride in the park. What does Inferno have? Errr its based around a Volcano. I go on Stealth for the launch, I go on Saw for the drop and beginning bit. I go on Inferno because its one of the only rides I haven't been on yet.So if no ones guessed, I chose Saw and Stealth over Inferno. But I chose Inferno over Colossus, because I hate Colossus!
  4. Which of these famous Orlando resorts do you prefer?Although I love both, I have gone for Disney because of its charm.
  5. Rock 'n' Rollercoaster hands down. Rita is very overrated. Good launch but not as good as Stealths. After that, it never picks up, just slows down (naturally) but its a shame they didn't put any inversions into Rita. R'n'R the theming is great and the launch feels faster because its in the dark.
  6. I went for the Mummy because its more unique. Dragon Challenge - Brilliant when at the front (but unfortunately they'll never duel again) but when you're in the middle, its just another inverted rollercoaster. That sounds very very spoilt but I have been on a lot of coasters now so only unique drops or theming will really make me think WOW. Both those coasters are the best inverted coasters after Nemesis though. Prefer Fire to Ice though (Can't get used to calling it after the dragons names)Hulk - Fantastic with its launch and just the sheer size of it. And for me it is the best bog standard rollercoaster in the world.Flight of the Hippogriff - Just No!Rip Ride Rockit - Rode this once, and we were lucky to last year. It broke down as they were missing a very important part of it and when we got there it was closed indefinitely. But the day before we were due to fly back, it was up and running, but it didn't really live up to expectations. It seems like its been put in the wrong park as it has nothing to do with movies or television. It was OK, but expectations outweighed the reality.Revenge of the Mummy - Brilliant theming. Queue line is fun, start up is thrilling and I love rides where there is plenty to see! Special effects are great and the interval works well. Best ride at Universal and best Rollercoaster in Universal Resort.
  7. 1 - Saw2 - Oblivion3 - Nemesis4 - Stealth5 - Samurai6 - Air7 - Hex8 - Sonic Spinball9 - Th13teen10 - Dragons FuryIf it was attractions too Lorikeet Lagoon and Saw Alive would have been in the top 10 with ease. Although I am more a fan of themed dark rides, there aren't many of those in the UK so I had to go with a majority of Rollercoasters!
  8. Been to Thorpe Park about 5-6 times since it has been built and never been tempted to go on it. It looks absolutely terrible and cheap! Pointless addition, and the Thorpe Park bosses got lazy this year with a new addition. Why it was shipped over from Florida I have no idea.Reading about it, it sounds like you get soaked even before you start riding and makes it seriously uncomfortable when walking round the park afterwards. It belongs in a park like Typhoon Lagoon or Wet n Wild as Blizzard Beach has a brilliant ride just like this but it suits the park. This ride looks out of place, and the metal supports need to be hidden somehow as it makes the park look untidy.I'm sure I'll warm to it if I ride it, but until they tidy it up, theme it better and hide the supports I won't go on it
  9. If this is your only gripe about Oblivion then there isn't really a problem with it!Still my favourite ride in Alton Towers
  10. For one reason I believe that Saw is the best ride in the park:Theming. Having been on many rides and rollercoasters, some of them are just same old same old. I personally hate Colossus as its uncomfortable, boring and not in the same league as other rollercoasters I have been on. Saw however, has something different about it with it starting indoors, and general theming around it. Granted its not the best ride in the world, and they could have done so much more with the theming, but at least its there! It beats Colossus hands down for me with it being more comfortable, exciting and generally a lot more fun. It beats Stealth mainly for its duration and theming, even though Stealths launch is brilliant! And obviously it beats Tidal Wave because we live in the UK. No one wants to get that wet when our weather is at its best let alone its worst!
