  1. To be honest it was the only B&M I found so uncomfortable to ride, I can see why they are doing this.
  2. The actors were walking around outside and interacting with guests due to the closure, in the circumstances did a good job and interacted well without really trying to scare.
  3. https://www.facebook.com/Themeparkukslightly different design
  4. The new map has the 2016 ride advertised on!
  5. Sorry on mobile can't post a picture, without plugging there pictures on the Facebook page includes t-shirts, mugs and pens! https://www.facebook.com/Themeparkuk
  6. Have just got to Thorpe, Big Top looks ready but Containment for press doesn't. They actually have Fright Nights Merchandise!
  7. Taking into account the Flume is shutting, can't imagine the decision behind even keeping Battle Galleons open this time of year.
  8. To be fair if they are sorting the issues with Tomb Blaster (and there was as many complaints about the state of it) then I'm fine with that. IF it opens in the same state, then there's a bigger issue.
  9. They did use the area last year for the Halloween tree which appeared quite early, can see this staying there now.
  10. Maybe now its been run into the ground, Samurai is being packed up to send back...
  11. Funny I used to think the public had the mentality of leaving before 4, but they just don't anymore. I have spent many a great day at Chessington this season with the park still rammed at 5pm. Legoland is obviously open later because of the traffic issues and it is easier to leave the park between 5-7 than ever before, but again it is also rammed late on especially in good weather. It's a shame but as said sadly really not unusual for Chessington anymore.
  12. Whilst I'm very much against all this rubbish reporting (and haven't clicked the links!) I hate to say it even at "walking pace" no cars on Sonic should be bumping and really isn't normal practice. The ride was shut after Smiler and although it is a nothing does surely indicate it did go through some kind of block brake?
  13. To be fair I've been on it when it has and I've seen it, few years ago now. It's slows right down ours was a minor bump, we laughed it off, I'd have taken a tenner!

    Legoland

Not sure if it's been seen but I've summarised the new plans for Legoland over the next couple of years, as the submissions started over the past couple of days. Haunted House going back in along with Hotel expansion link here
  15. I've never ridden Samurai at Thorpe Park on a decent setting, I'm sorry it's always been simply the worst Top Scan around. The Beast gives an amazing ride year in year out and lets not mention Top Buzz or Space Roller (although Lightwater don't run it quite as quick!)
  16. I would guess as a "Multi car" coaster Oblivion may have closed anyway whilst these new procedures are implemented. What I don't understand is why Wild Mouse style rides are effected(I know there are more blocks), but rides like X and The Dragon aren't.
  17. It never broke though... Thought they were using it as a like Smiler system to establish some answers?
  18. Still no Saw today, seems a bit strange I know it's all Merlin but when Oakwood have posted a picture of Speed they obviously aren't closing that.
  19. Even if Maintenance mode you should never be at a stage where a human can crash this state of the art ride, in any way shape or form. With the injured people (who I think we all wish a safe and speedy recovery) there is also the damage to Alton's and Merlin's reputation, the fact this thing cost £18 million to build not to mention the continuous marketing and promotional material attached to it, if I owned a park and the coaster manufacturer said that's £18 million but if you leave it in the wrong mode it will crash, no one in there right mind would buy it.
  20. The picture I've seen has both unconscious and blood, they may be guilty of exaggerating but this is serious especially with the history of it stalling.
  21. There are a couple of not nice looking pictures coming through, certainly hop everyone is ok and that is the most important thing. This shouldnt be able to happen empty or not, I can't quite understand how it has.
  22. There's a lot of activity on Twitter that Smiler has crashed...
  23. The instructions need to be updated already, when the wind caught letting go doesn't remove the spin as the paddles don't move back. At the same time if you manually pull them back central the plane does stop spinning very quickly, this has to be done at the base of the ride or heading up to the top when the wind (general Blackpool direction) doesn't catch. From top to bottom in the wind you have not chance to correct it and will be fighting against strong winds. It can be done on a windy day BUT its if you know how to do it.
  24. I had the best theme park visit of the year to the Pleasure Beach on Friday, even though the park was busy. All the coasters were on dual trains, except the Streak with operations the best I have ever seen at the park. Flying Machines looked amazing after its referb at the end of last season and the whole park really did look excellent. Sky Force was just amazing fun and rather an intense experience, the fact that many can't get it to spin is because much like general safety videos no one is watching the how to in the queue line, but as said if you do get it to spin, it just doesn't stop! The great thing is that it is always windy in Blackpool, at the top if catches the wind its more like a washing machine spinning than a tumble dryer it is insane. On the same note if you can't get it to spin its possibly the most boring ride ever built. In terms of operations I've had some amazing days at Chessington and Thorpe Park this year but Blackpool were streets ahead for the first time in my many years of visiting all the parks. Much like Chessington they may not have the best rides but generally you will always laughing which is hugely important when visiting a theme park! We left Alton Towers with there miserable staff and broken rides at 1.30 today, whilst staying at Blackpool til 7 pm close (and I live on the South Coast so don't go often) On that note thanks to the "Big One" app the family of 4 got in free along with 4 free burger meals for the day, saving well over £100!
  25. It is really nice the new Thomas Land expansion and I strongly believe it is the best IP in use in the UK. The area in question was occupied by the Driving school so I can't see it being the same size expansion as this years but at least 75% of the visitors yesterday were in Thomas Land, which was nice to have Air Race and Shockwave to myself!
