Chessington General Discussion
I was really surprised by how many families with school-aged children I saw in the park yesterday. I was expecting to be dodging school trips but we only saw two parties. I thought there were huge fines for taking your kids out of school? Queues weren't too bad though. Had to pass on Dragon Falls when we were threatened with a 45 minute wait and didn't even bother with Skyway looking at all the people lined up. But other things (Hocus Pocus, carousel) were practically a walk on.

Safari Skyway
That actually sounds quite terrifying.

Safari Skyway
So if I'm taking kids in the week on a dry day there's a good chance it might actually be running?

Safari Skyway
Do we know what's actually going on with this ride, it was operational today but not yesterday?

Seen the facebook page? It's almost like Paramount telling Merlin it's coming for them.

Bubbleworks
Sorry, I meant an innovation for Chessington exclusively.

The only alternative I'd be happy with is a haunted house. And I think a dark ride haunted house boat ride would be quite an innovation.

Bubbleworks
It'll probably be easier for staff to get in there and do repairs now that the holiday crowds have cleared out...hopefully.

Thorpe Park Merchandise
Wait I've not been keeping up, how many resins in total are there now?

Scorpion Express
Lovely sunny day though.

Um, I get that it can be frustrating to read negative comments when it's not the sentiment you yourself currently have, but it is an open forum and the terms of posting (to my knowledge) never specified that we all be positive. I'm a polite person but I honestly don't think the sentiment, 'if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all', is applicable to a discussion forum.

Someone call a bloody plumber already.

I'm sorry, it wasn't obvious to me....I'll try to do better from now on.

Whaaat?!? Chessington are staying open an extra hour today?? Wha...wha...faints. No but seriously were they slipped something in their coffees? Or are operations just so appalling today they need to stay open to mollify the disgruntled guests?

Hocus Pocus Hall
Well, for starters most of the first time visitors don't even realise it's there, they're too busy getting confused by the mirrors. But mostly I'd say because a lot of children use the maze and there needs to be a degree of handholding provided. Think of it like armbands in the pool and stabilizers on bikes. And it also really saved my sexagenarian mother back in 2012.

Scorpion Express
Scorpion seems to have stolen the crown from Vampire as the parks worst run ride. People being told 25 mins and waiting 65 is pretty painful.

Mr Monkey's Banana Ride
Happy birthday Mr Monkey's! I miss the time we spent together and you making me feel like my stomach was floating freely about my abdomen.

Chessington Music
Hate is a strong word. I'd say it's more like I have no room in my life for that particular mix. lol

Safari Skyway
Exactly...so they'd never feel the need for a cover story.
-
Safari Skyway
I think they'd be upfront about it if that were the case, it's not like they see it as any frustration to the guests to close rides for months at a time for refurbishments.

Bubbleworks
You mean one of us could trademark Burp and BubbleWorks this very day if we wanted to?

There's this guy, he's obsessed with Chessington. At first it was just the odd question in the run up to the park re-opening. Then it was a couple comments a week. Now he's taken to replying to everyones questions. If Chessington was a girl I'd be advising her to get one of those alarms you stick on your keys.
