Which drives me crazy because on busy days so many people will moan that they didn't get their money's worth and yet they never had the good sense to enjoy the zoo admittance they'd paid for. But I've seen some pass holder who turn up at the park with preschoolers just to do the zoo. (One lady even arriving with her tot 30 mins before closing with picture cards.) The image of the zoo seriously needs to be turned around to more than something dull you do to kill time between fast-tracks. -

This years motto for Chessington, any event that doesn't end in flames is a successful one.

I still think it looks cool, especially from the bridge lit up at night. I remember the first time walking up to it and being really impressed with the scale.

People have been saying for a while now that logistically speaking TombBlaster would be one of the best rides to open during zoo events, so I'm hoping this is only step 1 of Chessington's listen to the customer more approach....

I don't think the current negative attitude towards Merlin is due to us having unreasonably high new attraction expectation. It's due to all the downgrading that's been going on. We're seeing themeing getting taken down and either minimally replaced or not replaced at all. Throughputs for ride's are getting slower and slower. Too many attractions closed in a single season and yet tickets prices are raised. Towards the end of this year there was less to do, the peak time throughput of rides was painful and they respond by making the hotel bigger? It's a size 11 in the face to the customers really.

I'm not saying Merlin can't build wonderful new attractions, I'm just aware they have an equally long history of being half-arsed and negligent with quality. It's still an apprehensive wait and see for me.

I quite like that idea, maybe a big giant one with claws hanging over a tunnel entrance. Add a bit of menace to a seemingly tame ride.

They're keeping the same track right? If so I don't see a great deal of motivation to bring in brand new cars, just revamp them.

Drives me crazy when people start multiple projects but only have the time to finish half of them. Oh well, lucky for them Dragon Falls is tucked away at the back. Perhaps people will be so dazzled by the hotel expansion and Market Square spruce up they won't even notice.
