Least you can actually hear the ghost/animatronics on Fluch eh?
I suppose on fluch it is louder but I can hear the sound in saw perfectly well! Also fluch's sound is in German so it is harder to understand
-
I think saw is better guess we all have our own opinions!Fluch is nowhere near the awfulness of Saw... Funny how they opened the same year too...
-
Just thinking, wouldn't it make the coaster look stupid if only two of the rows were facing backwards and the rest were facing forwards?Rumours I've heard recently are X No Way Out will be forwards this season and the back two rows of Swarm will be backwards.
-
Inverted- Nemesis, alton towers
Suspended-vampire, chessington(only one I've been on)
Water ride- Valhalla,Blackpool
Stand up, shockwave, Drayton manor
Flying- manta,seaworld Orlando
Floor less,Kraken, seaworld orlando(only one I've been on)
Eurofighter- saw the ride+the curse of Novgorod(I love them both but Novgorod is kinda a copy of saw with the speaking puppet inside the building!)
Giga- big one, blackpool(only one I've been on)
Launch-stealth, thorpe park
Wingrider- the swarm, thorpe park
Drop tower- detonator, thorpe park(the most intense drop tower I have been on however I was tempted to put scream, heide park up there!)
Boomerang- the boomerang at freziet park, giezelwind(only one I've ridden)
Wooden- Colossus, heide park
To be honest I haven't really been on the big coasters out of Europe so this is just out of what I've been on and that's not particularly much

I got that picture above aswell(I subscribed to the sw7 fan site thing!) It is quite strange really because people said merlin would not make sw7 worlds most inversions because it would make Colossus look stupid! Now that it really seems like it is going to be worlds most inversions, I can't see what is going to happen to colosssus. Yes it is a completely different experience, but I'm thinking fans will just say,"oh sw7 has more inversions, we will go to alton towers instead."
Colossus days could well end as this is like the major record thorpe park had, no more record for Colossus if sw7 comes along!
However, I think it is just as well alton towers does this, the max inversions they have on one ride is 4(nemesis) so they were really in need of a ride with more inversions. Also the Colossus record was going to be taken over anytime soon! The only shame for me is, I live such a long way away from alton and I will only be able to make 1 trip if any and sw7 might be awesome, but I will have to queue at least 2 hours for it! I just hope I can make a trip to alton next year!
Also the name,"the smiler!" It definately will not fit in with the names of the rides around it, such as oblivion. Also with merlin putting "the" in front of everything I am starting to call all the rides at thorpe and alton "the samurai" for instance! It is really daunting on me!

No you go down a few zip wires over the park! I thought it would be £6 max as that's how much the big rides cost!Thats a lot of money!!!!!!!!!!! Does it look worth it?

Hey guys, visiting the Xmas zoo days soon just wondering is the sea life centre free to enter if you pay for park entry?(my friend wants to go in it quite badly)
Thanks guys
-
Guys remember, Loggers Leap tunnel had to be replaced so that could be advertised as a whole new ride too!
-
Yes well even if you go you can bring your own food and not even do any rides! There are lots of statues around the park and it is nice to look at everything! Have a walk through the xmas market too. Its beautiful even if you don't want to pay... after all its free entry!Holy Moly sounds expensive ..... However, I really want to go and have almost persuaded a friend to go with me - only prob is she doesn't like rides.
Did I read right? £18 for 2 burgers and chips???? Seriously??? That is daylight robbery! Still want to go though - just might swerve the food!
-
Well I did watch a vid on youtube and the first time round it gives you a rubbish setting but then you do the crazy flipping on the second cycle!I really enjoyed it although it was on a pretty lame setting I believe - the thing I didn't like was how tight the restraints are but then there is obvs a reason for that! Ride op did ask if we wanted another go and I was the only person to say no due to feeling uncomfortable.
-
I did read a website which said Vengance 5D was being move to thorpe park but who knows? The move would only take place after xmas if it was happening! Also because of the low capacity they may make it(if it is moving) a pay attraction like the passing was. Even then it would still generate queues but maybe something like annual pass holders would go free!?
P.s my Merlin annual pass voucher just arrived
As for this... what is the point of removing it for 2012 and then replacing it? Yes it's good for people to relax on and all that but I'm wondering why the removed it in the first place?I heard the CCR rumour too. So it should return to be honest. It's not like they'd remove all the track and trains if they close it anyway. So why have it sitting there rotting away? If they care about the park, which I assume they do, then it ought to run. No matter how hard they try to get kids to NOT visit, the bottom line is - some will still do!

Does anyone know if Zufari is counted as part of the zoo?
If so will it be open for Zoo days 2013?
Also, will zufari have long queues or does it have a high capacity and also will it be a paying-attraction(like The passing was)
Thanks

There must be a good reason to not have safari skyway open.....
-
Oh thanks I usually sit on the end I want to get squirted in the futureFollowing on from what Pluk said, its designed to hit the centre two seats on both rows; thus you may not get squirted at; as you may be on the end seats. I too, have never known it to not work.
-
The effects make the ride even better than it is alone! If the blades aren't rotating they don't have as much impact and of course the swinging axes and the little jigsaw! The ride would not be complete without them!My main worry is that the only reason Saw is running (almost) as well as it did on opening day is thanks to this contract. And when they have no obligation to keep the effects working, I can see them swiftly dying off one by one...
On the twist inside, there is a dead body on the floor which used to squirt fake blood at you, now it has become water and although the effect gives an impact it is not as good as it used to be! Anyway, this effect is hardly ever turned on anymore as I have only been squirted twice in the many rides on saw I have had!
-
Again I know it's been said that it has nothing to do with zufari, but safari skyway could well be closed because it gives clear views of construction of zufari! I know this may sound stupid though! Is safari skyway closed then? That's been open pretty much every year of Zoo Days since they came back!
-
It has until the end of 2014 I think- it will be rethemed if they cant get it renewed for the 2015 season! What about Saws licence wasn't that all meant to be re themed?
-
How do people get close enough to see the construction site? Just like with SW7 people can see the track pieces. How is this possible?
As for the photo if its just a picture of dirt moving then I don't see why anyone would want to steal it!
-
Ive never visited the park before on a zoo day but there could be valid reasons why sea storm would not be open. If it was snowing, yes they could just close the ride but wouldn't it be a pain for the people in the park if the ride was closed?
I dont see why they cant have the other side of the park open, however it would make tomb blaster a bit lonely if it was on its own for a zoo day. Are there any other indoor-attractions near it which could be open if it was open aswell?
I have come up with a good reason why tomb-blaster may be closed.
I'm not sure where Zufari exactly is but maybe they dont want tomb blaster open because it would give people clear views of the construction of zufari? I'm not sure about that though!
-
I was wondering about that actually! They can open bubbleworks and hocus pocus hall because they are indoor attraction but tomb blaster is indoor too! Maybe it's because it is on the other side of the park?Is there any reason why they won't have Tomb Blaster open?
-
Thanks mate ill be along in January to a zoo day to relax and maybe go on the bubbleworks and in the hocus pocus hall
-
I didn't know if there was a topic for this or not but I am wondering something anyway!
Guys if you have a merlin annual pass is it free to access chessingtons zoo days or is there a £5 event fee?
If you don't have to pay do you need to pre-book or do you just go and scan your pass on the turnstile as normal?
Thanks
-
Guys how scary is this? And how wet do you get?
I am getting a merlin annual pass for next year and I am gonna go to chessingtons annual pass day as thorpe don't have one!
Just wondering how scary is this actually especially when you flip? Also when you get lowered into water how wet d you actually get- it looks wet but I've got no clue! Also where do you need to sit to get wet? How many seats are there which soak riders?
Thanks guys- looking forward to zufari and sw7 aswell
-
Yes but thorpe park and everything else is closed so it is a great attraction to pass the time while waiting for 2013 season! And I am gonna get a merlin annual pass, so excited!Hence I won't be going as it seems too expensive for what it is
Why not treat yourself just do a few rides and you don't even have to spend anything it's free to enter!
After all it's Christmas!
P.s it's ultra-busy and they weren't letting people in the other day because its so busy!
