  1. What ride could they possibly put in there that's relevant to the Transylvanian theme? A cheesy ghost train isn't going to cut it.

People have been talking about an Alton woodie for yonks yet it has never happened. Would they finally build one after all these years of wanting? Woodies are awesome so hopefully it's true.
  3. Professor Burp is never ever coming back. Even if he did I doubt it would feel the same. I can't forgive Chessington for turning the best dark ride in the country into a duck ridden cesspit. Quack.
  4. The only thing bubbleworks needs is dynamite. And lots of it. I really don't see what could be done with that mess now.

Yeah this thread did go off-topic quite a bit. We were talking about the station and its diminishing theming. It's going to look like a warehouse in there soon.

The majority of Chessington's visitors do go for the park though. The zoo is OK, but it's nothing amazing compared to what other zoos have to offer. I guess some people might like the park/zoo combination though.

OK, I'll admit I was too harsh earlier. Chessington does well with what it has to work with, but the ridiculous planning restrictions is seriously killing them. The other merlin parks get new rides while chessington gets boring zoo additions. It's a shame since the park has an atmosphere thorpe and alton can't match.

If Chessington ever got shut down Dragon's Fury is really the only ride worth saving. The rest can be sent to the scrap pile where they belong. It's pretty sad how far this place has fallen.

Farewell station chandeliers, you will be missed. I wonder what the next target will be? The organist better watch his back...

Didn't all the ride mechanics get redone by Vekoma though? I think the only thing left of Arrow is the track.

Wow, it looks like the crypt that leads into the station has been completely destroyed. At this rate there won't be any theming at chessington left.
  12. Has anyone ever managed to find the Black Forest Chateau organ piece? I visited chessington while the chateau was present but never actually went inside. Was Graham Smart the original composer?
  13. The fountain finale is probably the only thing interesting about this ride since the retheme. The rest of the ride is so bland, boring and a complete waste of time. Maybe they should just scrap this ride and put something new in there. Although I can't really see what would work theme wise.

A friend who visited chessington recently has told me that the Vampire nows uses the internet version of the station theme. Can anyone confirm this? Please tell me they haven't done this.......

The coffins were the strongest vampire related theming in the station, yet they ended up removing them. Shame they decided to replace them with those disgusting purple bars which clash with the rest of the station. What the hell is with all this purple coloring anyway? What does purple have to do with vampires? The queue line is in worse shape now than it was 6 years ago. In 2007 it actually looked like the queue was recovering, but now it seems like they've messed it up again.

I don't think the version found on the internet has ever been used in the station at all. I've been trying to find the station version for ages but haven't found anything yet. IMO it sounds much better than the 'common' version we have.

I agree about the volume, it's either too loud or too quiet. Alot of those announcements didn't exist with the old Vampire, the music was allowed to play without being talked over every 10 seconds. A great soundtrack like The Vampire's deserves to be heard Also, when was the last time all the torches in the station actually flickered like they're supposed to? I bet they haven't done so for about 10 years. So much atmosphere lost...

Ah, so fastrack is to blame is it? It's pretty annoying too as I don't agree with being able to pay to skip queues.

I don't think the Vampire's queue or exit route has ever gone beside the brake run or under the crypt. Everything TraX said about the original queue is pretty much spot on. I believe the original queue only lasted about two years before it was extended. I honestly don't get why they stopped using the grand entrance, It looks so much more imposing than that awful purple bar used now. I really hope they finally use it again.
