  1. It could be a problem with the track (or lifts were still arrow I think) though
  2. On second thoughts yeah not much.
  3. It's the box amy was locked in for 2000 years a couple seasons ago. not sure if it's pandoras box, or pandorica or something? It would absolutely have to be something on this level to be pleasing for me, as I'm not a huge who fan, but also it would need to be thrilling for the average, teen visiter at Thorpe. I knoe the chances of something like this happening is slim, however if this can be made in a game, I'd love to think something similar could be made in real life.
  4. It's been said elsewhere that ride parts can take up to a year to source, create and ship. I'd expect this is especially the case with extinct manufacturers. (assuming it's an arrow part)
  5. last year it was fixed mid season though, right?

No. It has very little to do with guest consideration, it has alot to do with cuts. Of course they consider guest enjoyment. That statement is ludicrous. It may be a slight disadvantage to guests being on their own, however it's not going to completely shatter someones day. The ride itself is an element of enjoyment, not queuing for it.
  7. My main issue with the layout that I can see is it really doesnt seem to flow between elements. The zero G looks like it shouldve twisted the other way to make the dive loop (or immelmen or whatevers) exit more smooth and then it would enter the helix in a great line. Of course, I can't say that yet as I haven't seen a POV or ridden it, but nonetheless the line the ride takes could be very purposeful, and besides, the theming and the tightness of these elements makes for an exciting project.
  8. You should visit Transylvania, they've done a little work tidying it up round the edges. Mystic East has had ongoing works for the past 2 years, I just hope they haven't stopped quite yet. forbidden kingdom looks fine to me, as does land of the dragons. I suppose at the end of the day it's all down to opinions. Pirates cove I think is practically non-existant. It's got some good stuff in places but very little in others. Would be interesting to see some development here (like one of the fan made rapids rides)
  9. Sort of thought that too but when I paused it during the graphics it was just the nemesis inferno train and the way saw and Colossus overlap weirdly.
  10. How bizarre! I've never seen that before. On Verbolten, I believe they put the building up first (?) and then added the track inside. On Th13teen, the building supports went up with the track however the track wasn't wrapped... My only idea could be that because it may be a long time until the ride opens, they have protected it just in case.
  11. Something to do with a brake? I was aware it was definitely open just before midday, and again at 2:30.
  12. It's supposed to have a very tight helix. I think it's the tightest one of a B&M that isn't inverted?
  13. From what I've seen I'm really looking forward to it. Looks like great fun!
  14. Thanks for clearing that up Josh. I am not against your opinion James it's just your points are so repetitive and whiny it's really hard to resist snapping. My maths was based upon the 101 attractions merlin owns, and the average MAP/enthusiast would visit resorts up to 15 times a year. So no, my maths isn't wrong, it's just subject to opinion and the matter of the persons trips. It's just I find your conclusions to why you hate the VIP pass so far fetched it is silly. I myself encountered groups of VIPs several times on AP day and didn't actually have a problem with them 'queue jumping', even when we were at the gates they were in small pockets of groups and only took up a single line. The ops allowed us to change rows though seeing as it was the end of the day and the park was fairly empty. This is a great example of what I mean as even when they are in groups they won't effect more then 4 or 5 people, or a row or 2 at a time.
  15. This is too funny. No. This hurts my sides. Really, really bad arguement. Your 'endless event charges' are those for people who just have rides on their minds. Have a bit of control here, and remember there are around 200 days of non paid entries to the parks every year. It just makes me laugh so hard when people moan about these paid events then go anyway. It's like a robber coming up to you, you moaning about being robbed, and then giving them the object they're taking anyway. These events are easily avoidable, you are really, really thick if word it like these are forced paid events. I haven't been to one, and I'm glad for that, because I don't want to end up like some of you guys who seem to have endless wind in your stomachs going insane over this crap when really you're the guys fueling the fire in the first place. God damn gosh. Sure VIP passes may not be the best marketing stunt pulled by merlin but 'normal' guests can choose to be treated just the same. Of course, it comes with a hefty price tag, but the VIP experiences that Thorpe have offered before along with unlimited fast pass can make guests get a VIP experience for the day. Also remember disabled or celebrity status guests get a similar treatment. So really, it's not unfair. they're offering it to everyone anyway, its your choice not to purchase it. The only way people can say it's unfair is if they just don't have enough money, but that's the way the world works I'm afraid. point has been made above. Have you ever been seriously, seriously effected by a VIP pass? I'm not defending it, I think it's an idea that could've worked that sort of flopped on its side, but you're making such a huge fuss over such a tiny thing. Literally the VIP pass guest takes up less then 0.00001% of the guests at ALL PARKS, annually. This is tiny, minute, insignificantly minuscule. If you hate them so much, just ignore them. I've seen groups of them round before, and yeah sure, when they go round in groups they take up a little more space, but at the end of the day they can effect the queue by just a matter of seconds. My ears are aching from all the moaning people are doing about them, but really your moans are flawed; FLAWED I SAY. Sure the passes can be a little frustrating but you make it sound like an apocalypse will REALLY happen because 1000 people get to queue up the exit, spread over 100 parks. That's 10 a park. That's less then 0.3 a ride at the UK theme parks. There's like a 1 in 13 chance that you'll actually have to queue against a VIP pass holder. apologies if maths is bad. You're wasting your time moaning. We've heard you plenty already. Just deal with it.
  16. Ultimate pass? Or even if they have the rights for it, disability pass? I've been aware that some celebs get into parks for free, can close off whole rides, and get given a foot massage from the park manager whilst at it.
  17. It sure does look fun, shame about some of the high price tags though.
  18. On a normal park operations day, I'd agree, but many parks may still consider preview events such as this 'practice' for their staff, including the likes of engineers and mechanics, which can lead to a massive amount of disruption in rides opening up. Pre season events such as this have to be taken with a pinch of salt. I'm not defending the park, I do believe that the park should've got more rides open, but then again I also am trying to appreciate the fact that there may be unheard circumstance that have effected the ride lineup beyond repair.
  19. I do believe there must be some development through the nemesis inferno photo shop. In fairness that room always felt blank and I believe the photo booth could've easily fitted in a smaller space. Today it was boarded off, and though the cameras were still working the shop area was locked.
  20. That has been a really nice comment ThorpeLover. I don't understand why people feel the need to comment so aggressively. Constructive, positively noted criticism is the best forum talk out there. Honestly just trash talking something and then kicking the bin over with negative after negative after rude slur just makes you look like an annoying hormonous teenager, when actually you just want to see the park do better! I must agree, the park was really fun today, nice to go round with some friends. It's a shame about the lack of saw, but then again the gain of detonator and the nice touch ups (OMG the submarine got painted!!) was a real high point. I look forward to the rest of the season and seeing the 2016 ride develop.
