The German Webberlution is starting to take place at Norwich too. How on earth we’ve been able to loan in Moritz Leitner, who’s played 50-odd times for Dortmund, I do not know.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on this topic. Since then, I’ve watched some terrific away games in and around London. Notably, a 2-1 win away at Reading; a 3-1 league cup win away at Brentford; Away at Arsenal, where we almost caused an upset; and last week when I witnessed a fantastic display at Stamford Bridge. Its been a bumpy season for NCFC, but I’m optimistic about our direction and believe we’ll be true contenders next season. I’m off to Brentford today, with the prediction that our new striker Srbeny will score the winner... or get sent off.

Ridiculous. Do Merlin not realise that Alton could be a really special park? Do they not even wish this? Does mediocrity suffice?Embarrassing.

Ride looks funky, funky brakes in between the funky drops look funky. But any park that animates upside down chickens for a new coaster will always win my heart...

Just a query, but which Blackpool rides are grade ll listed? I assume Grand National and Big Dipper are but I don’t know what else. I’m quite surprised that Wild Mouse wasn’t - but I’m very naive when it comes to the Pleasure Beach.

I’m not sure how legal/safe/moral this video is, but here is some drone footage of the ride from above. This was filmed when the park was open for their winter event, so it may be entirely illegal (so mods, feel free to delete this post). Credits go to whoever the guy who put this up is.

I’d been waiting to see that side of the structure but I couldn’t find a picture, so thanks Baron! I do think the face looking up is rather unusual, and perhaps makes the figure seem more passive than powerful and intimidating. The body area is a little odd too, it just seems to be a bulky wooden rectangle, as opposed to something that links in with the 2 beautifully crafted faces above it.

Here we go; - RMC single rail coasters look like the biggest waste of time. - Wodan Timber Coaster is worse than euromir, Silver Star and Blue Fire. Not enjoyable. -Chessington is better than Thorpe, and always has been. -Geisterschloss at EP is an awful dark ride, christ, bench is better than it! -The gruffalo is a better attraction than Hex, or Derren Brown’s Ghost Pain. - The UK’s theme park selection looks worse than Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, France and Sweden’s collection of parks. Soon to be Poland and Turkey.

Does Turkey still not tickle your fancy? Turkey and Poland look like the hidden gems of coaster trips at the moment.

Well I always thought Legendia and Energylandia were much closer, but the reality of 40 miles is actually quite significant. Legendia’s quite a long way out of Krakow. Which makes them a little bit tricky to combine with a Krakow minibreak.

It looks terrific - the only 2018 project that’s really exciting me. I really must get up to Blackpool next year. And as for that Immelmann, it’s certainly quirky...

^Well, no of course they didn’t explicitly claim such a thing, I was just utilising my creative liberty. Memes like this illustrate what I’m saying. And I know it’s light hearted ‘banter’ but like I said, it’s a CD, nothing more.

My main issue is that I don’t really think any of the soundtrack is particularly good. It’s all just so bland. Nemesis Inferno and Colossus had the best soundtracks in England if you ask me - but now they are wishy washy bland typical Imascore. Enthusiasts seem to praise imascore like they are the messiah which I really can’t understand. I love theme park audio, and my personal favourites are all composed by single composers who have clearly taken care in making an intellectual, atmospheric piece that uses a real orchestra. These pieces seem to have so much more of a purpose than the drab commercialised imascore numbers. Also, Thorpe Park Twitter: I usually love the banterous persona but they seem to think that releasing a CD has completely changed everything and re-written their underperforming year. It’s a CD, nothing more.
