  1. The scaffolding company that’s doing it posted some photos on their Instagram a while back. I’ll try and find it. It was mainly to work on the big iron ball thing.

edit: they’ve taken the pics of the ball down but there is one of the work going on near the station. The pics of the ball shower a really rusty and knackered old gas ball with the quote ‘this is what 20 years of tidal waves does to iron’ or something. But that’s gone.

  2. Interesting spots in the 360 photo on sky surveys Facebook page.

    - I noticed rush is obviously still laying on the plaza by zodiac

    - Looks like Quantum is back together

    - Tidal wave is drained and looks to have a T shaped platform in the pool

    - Stealth still has a school bus in the plaza

    - The old ticket kiosks in the plaza look to be completely opened up now instead of using the sliding door setup from previous seasons. Could potentially be replicating the marquee setup inside these buildings?

I'm not sure if there's anything else to spot

  3. Not sure if this is an old change done, but I’ve started noticing some rides at the park now have a new announcement which is manually controlled by the staff, presumably through a new PA system for each attraction.

Just now, I saw a staff member from Detonator play a pre-recorded announcement which was along the lines of “We hope you’re having a great day at Thorpe Park Resort. Why not upgrade to a season pass?” with some guff that followed after.

This is the 3rd time I’ve noticed it now; once on Detonator, once on Ghost Train and another park-wide (I believe) within the last couple months.

It appears the park are now playing adverts intermittently over the individual ride PA systems by the staff members.

EDIT: Just heard it again today around Colossus’ cobra roll.
Ah that's what it is, I was on park the other day and heard these

  4. Perhaps anything related to Loggers is having to wait until the Flumes at Alton are dismantled?  I mean I know Merlin make some strange decisions but surely even they are not dumb enough to ignore the obvious, ride a needs new xyz (pumps?), ride b has perfectly good ones and is already earmarked for removal, why invest in new pumps for ride a when you can scavange the parts from ride b?

    This is what is thinking

The current state of the ride would suggest otherwise..

Hopefully it does re-open in 2017, but after getting a look from Platform 15 the other day.. I doubt it.

They could use old parts from the flume at towers to repair loggers leap, that would explain it if the staff member said it might open by summer

With platform 15 around the edge of loggers it gives you a pretty good access road to loggers meaning work would be easier
