  1. When people defend their favourite parks with things that if any other park did it, they would be right on the war path. Just gets on my nerves seeing that.
  2. After Rise of the resistance and Iron Gwazi, this is the development in Florida I can safely I am most looking forward to experiencing whenever I get the chance to return to Florida. Universal apparently have been interested in an Intamin multi launch/blitz coaster since Taron came around and I can see them looking to make this an intense and snappy experience given the use of the Intamin double spined track. The only other question I suppose this will leave is wherever or not the addition of this coaster will open the flood gates to Universal retheming the Jurassic Park island into Jurassic World with the River Adventure getting a similar retheme to the Hollywood version. Personally, I'd rather they have a mix and have rides and experiences themed to both the older Jurassic Parks and the new Jurassic Worlds. I mean, I'm sure if they can get away with King Kong on the island that they can manage that. I MAY be able to forgive them for doing away with the Dueling Dragons now!!
  3. I am really getting quite sick and tired of seeing enthusiasts moaning and crying about POSTPONED trips to theme parks this year thanks to the pandemic. Look, I know this page is ofcourse a forum dedicated to a theme park and I myself am very proud of being an enthusiast. However, I do feel some enthusiasts on social media really need to look at what's going on in the world before they go on an Ian Beale style "IVE GOT NOTHING LEFT" sulk about postponed park visits. People are losing their jobs and with that, the abillity to make a living to pay the bills. More importantly, many people are losing loved ones to this virus. So with all that happening, I personally find it hard to feel sympathy to a bunch of people who are crying over not being able to visit parks that will STILL BE AROUND when all this is said and done. Those who are losing loved ones do not have that luxury. I have a friend who lost her nan recently and was not even allowed to attend her own nans funeral. So yes, forgive me if I find it hard to feel sorry for having to wait a little longer to ride the likes of Shambhala,Taron, Zadra,Taiga and Iron Gwazi or going to flaming Disneyland Paris. Rant over. Again I know this doesn't apply to all enthusiasts but I am seeing enough of it to really get on my wick. It's not just postponed park trips. It's also the sulking over canceled festivals and concerts. People should check their priorities as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Spain - near instant lockdown Italy - near instant lockdown Germany - near instant lockdown UK - WASH YOUR HANDS AND SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADS!! No wonder it's as bad as it is on these shores.
  5. Looks a solid enough hyper. Gives this park an even more solid looking line up. Gotta say the name is growing on me more and more these days
  6. 3rd place: Big Top Well no brainer really. The Big Top was in a whole other league to The Curse. Champion: The Freezer Freezer and Asylum was near enough the exact same maze experience so this one boils down to the slight differences. I much preffered the spectacle of Freezers iconic entrance being out the front with you witnessing people entering it and with all the smoke puffing out when the doors opened. I also preffered having the exit on the stage infront of those queuing. It was highly intimidating watching people running right out the exit in floods of tears minutes before going in for yourself. Inside, maybe it's just me but Freezer seemed to have even more disorientating strobes than Asylum would later use. Which helped the actors to generate scares even more. It also had way more smoke in there and it also felt the actors was even more menacing than when it became Asylum. Things like the amount of blood on the walls and having the hanging body bags as opposed to Asylums hanging cloth also edge this one to The Freezer. Plus, I guess the name "The Freezer" isn't really offensive to the PC brigade either. Please bring this beauty back Thorpe!!
  7. Well then I will fly right ahead with my Semi vote!! The Freezer defeats The Curse - Freezer to this day is still the most intense maze Thorpe has ever had and it also has the sentimental value of being my first horror maze. The atmosphere surrounding that maze with its entrance and soundtrack made for an intimidating maze before even stepping foot inside it and from the minute you got in to the minute you left, you never got a seconds peace. If Thorpe was to bring ONE maze from the past back to the event, it should be this all day long. The Asylum defeats The Big Top - Big Top was a great FUN maze with one hell of a soundtrack and good mix of sets. However, these are SCARE mazes. The object of these mazes is to SCARE the customers. In terms of scares then this one is a no brainer. Asylum was more frantic than Big Top, more jumpy than Big Top, more Disorientating than Big Top, more intense than Big Top and was all around just scarier in every way. Big Top is still a terrific maze and my lord did Thorpe mess up not bringing it back, but no way on this Earth does it defeat Asylum.
  8. Experiment 10 vs Big Top for the right to lose against Asylum in the semi final!! Game on!! 😛
  9. I loved Se7en!! Its just Asylum was a whole other level xD I would have Se7en over all the post 2013 mazes with the exception of 2016/17 Big top
  10. Se7en in my honest opinion will always be the most underrated and underappreciated maze to ever exist at Thorpe. It really was brilliantly disgusting and disturbing!!
  11. Freezer (no contest. Studio 13 was poor in comparison and that stupid photo OP before going into the strobe maze was a buzzkill. Nowhere near as intense or full on chaotic as Freezer/asylum) Curse (very jump scare heavy and I only ever had ONE good go through Cabin. Dare I say, Cabin is the most overhyped maze in the events history) Big Top (I loved E10 as a one and done experience but the gimmicks get old very quick. Big Top wasnt the most intense maze in the world but it was a heck of a lot of fun. If freezer is the events scariest maze ever then Big Top is certainly the most fun) Asylum (I loved Se7en to death, but come on. This is the Asylum we are talking about!!)
  12. Big top Experiment 10 Asylum Se7en
  13. I know right....Hellgate was just legendary
  14. Experiment 10 Vs Hellgate in the first round though!! :O
  15. Studio 13 The Freezer The curse Cabin in the woods
  16. Actors could literally grab you, push you, pull you, swear at you, carry you, cover you in all sorts of stuff like water and powder to name but a few. It was a complete departure from the feel of doing a standard go through the mazes during regular hours. It was an intense experience when it was at it's peak and was a good addition to the event while it was about
  17. Big top 17 (RIP!!) Living nightmare Blair witch Hellgate (very close!! That was a hard one as both was excellent) Creek freak massacre (MBV was dire) ASYLUM!! (Still the greatest) Se7en (P15 is dreadful and Se7en was grossly underrated) Saw Alive
  18. My last ever go through Asylum was indeed Face It alone...and it was every bit as surreal and crazy as you could imagine 😕 I did face it alone every season when it was about and by its final year, it was watered down quite considerably. Whilst I personally cant see Thorpe bringing something as physical as face it alone back, I certainly think a more psychological "alone experience" which doesn't rely on man handling you and covering you in God only knows what could be the ticket for the event. When I did the Clinic at Walibi Holland, first thing I thought when I finished it was that something along those lines would fit the bill for Thorpe one day.
  19. So today I was remembering doing face it alone. Doing so made me think of one question and I apologise if it was already discussed. Why did Thorpe do away with it?? If its what I think it is in regards to it being "too extreme" then frankly I think that's ridiculous. Those who participated in it knew what they was getting themself in for given they had to sign a disclaimer which explained clear as crystal what was about to occur aswell as being told at the time of purchasing the tickets exactly what was about to happen. If it's because people complained then I personally feel that they should be more concerned with reading a disclaimer properly before signing OR paying attention at the time of purchasing the ticket. Obviously it's been gone for years now but I was just curious 😛
  20. Terror at amity high Carnival of the bizarre Blair witch The freezer The curse 10th anniversary Cabin in the woods Big top 15 If freezer or asylum doesn't win this whole thing I will be shocked!! God the fact I have done every single one of these makes me feel old!!
  21. Nemesis Inferno (2)Rush (3))Stealth (3)The Swarm (4) Rush + Inferno -
  22. Detonator: Bomb's Away (3)Nemesis Inferno (2)Quantum (3)Rush (3)Samurai (3)Stealth (4)The Swarm (3)Vortex (3) Stealth + Inferno -
  23. Has to be my first trip to Cedar Point in 2018 The park was on my bucket list for well over ten years and did NOT disappoint. Years of the place being hyped up and it lived right up to it. Then there's the small matter of Steel Vengeance simply blowing every other coaster I've been on clean out of the water. First time to Florida was also highly memorable!!
  24. The state of Ohio has now banned gatherings of more than 100 people. Putting Kings Island and Cedar Point at risk of remaining closed. So the build up to my trip there at the end of May should be interesting to say the least...... Not panicking at all 🙄🙄
  25. Only just stumbled across this. Really do hope one day Disney fix that damn thing!!
