  1. If this turns out to be the case when it opens we could well end up with a consistent, quality, technology/theming-led experience. IMO whilst live actors are great for Fright Nights when used together with good theming, year-round attractions work better without them because the park are forced to rely on story/theming/tech to make a great experience. I bet if DBGT was designed to be completely actor-less it would have significantly improved the overall experience, especially in terms of consistency. I have had decent run throughs on that when there have been great actors, but when there are poor/less/no actors it feels like a very weak attraction.
  2. There's been no evidence of it being removed over closed season, it will likely be there until either it begins to pose a health & safety risk as it ages or the area is redeveloped.
  3. Opens end of March - they must have been working on this for some time then, since Living Nightmare would assumingly need total removal with there being no theming in there that I can think of that would be reusable into this kind of futuristic style attraction.
  4. Any word as to whether this is due to open with the rest of the park in March?
  5. T O E R = ? They went to the effort of using exactly the same hashtag on this post across all of their social media accounts.... Makes no sense to have it there with the strange capitalisation if it's not meant to mean anything or be some type of clue.
  6. I don't even care anymore if there's nothing new for 2020. Just get rid of those stupid games machines in the Dome. Please. 🤣 They seem to be creeping further and further out of the games room they're supposed to be contained in. If I hear that tone that sounds like it's being played on an electric keyboard from Toys R Us one more time they'll owe me 2 RMCs. But then again we'll never get 1 of those anyway.
  7. Taken from MAP Facebook group. Never experienced this last year so have no idea what it is, but it's back!
  8. May have already been mentioned but yesterday was the first time I noticed that SAW: TR has seen some vast improvements in its audio - the 802s in the plaza are much louder now and sound fantastic, the queue line audio has also had a volume boost, and inside the station the sound effects and announcements in the queue, loading area and from on the ride at dispatch are much louder and clearer. Really adds to the atmosphere of the whole ride experience, but of course then your head gets bashed about so much you forget all about it 😂
  9. Was on park yesterday and the shop scene is still not working properly, no projections and no demon, just the same actor with some red paint on her face. Honestly what is going on with this ride now, maybe they have decided not to fix this in anticipation of some changes over the coming closed season? There were no other actors either. Am I right in saying the big room after the tunnel route should have something going on in it? All season I kept thinking I've just missed it as I'm usually towards the back of the group, but yesterday I was towards the front and all that I saw was some smoke and sound effects.

    2019 Season

Exactly my thoughts. It definitely can be done, and it would be great to have the Dome properly cooled to give a central place to cool off and eat, shop etc in the height of summer, even just as you walk through having queued for security in the sun. Probably wishful thinking though as with this year's highlight addition being a bouncy castle, it's probably at the bottom of the priority list for investment. It would be quite a large system to cover a space of that size too. Even the toilets at DLP are heated/air conditioned all year round though! Little things like that make such a difference. And when late October Fright Nights comes around and its 5 degrees outside.. there's hardly anywhere around to warm up either!

    2019 Season

Seeing as we've had so much hot weather recently... having been to both Thorpe and Chessington last week one thing that stands out is the compete lack of air conditioning across Thorpe. Many Chessington shops and restaurants have it, but Thorpe seems to have nothing outside of DBGT and TWD - not even in the Dome, Finn's or any of the other restaurants. From memory I believe Inferno's shop has air con but I've never felt it on? I would normally say it's not needed at UK parks but with this 32° heat I'm starting to wonder why they don't at least use it where they have it. It's in such a contrast to places such as Disneyland Paris which gets similar weather to us but anywhere you walk inside in summer is always a nice cool break from the heat. As I say, not normally needed in the UK but our summers seem to be getting warmer for longer and it really can make a difference to have somewhere to cool off, especially when you're trying to eat.
  12. It seems Swarm Island's audio has finally come back to life recently, the original soundtrack can just about be heard from a few areas after months of silence, it's a shame it's so quiet though. The Bose system in that area really used to rock and the audio brought the area to life. Perhaps an amp died during last season or over closed season? Don't remember this area ever being so quiet.
  13. I saw the issue of no demon in the ending shop come up somewhere a while back but I have been in there since and it was back with everything working fully, along with the projection... hopefully this is again just a temporary issue and not permanent.
