  1. Does anyone know what the audition process is for Fright Nights. I have an audition with them and just want to know what to expect. Also do you get a say in what attraction you would prefer to be placed in or is it totally random.
  2. I also have an issue with getting one run through with your ticket as mazes such as Survival games have multiple routes so you could be in there for 5 minutes or 20 minutes. It seems a waste of money, I usually just linger from the group and try and lengthen my experience and interact with actors to give them the opportunity to scare me more.
  3. I can’t lie, this lineup is cringing me out more by the day. I obviously will remain optimistic but this does not feel like Fright Nights at all. Along with the reimagined Lycanthorpe/Amity it just seems so family friendly. I do need to stop comparing to the past but when we’ve had the likes of The Asylum, Experiment 10 and My Bloody Valentine this does not excite me. I understand this is likely to be a show and not necessarily a scare attraction so obviously the theme doesn’t have to be as scary. I am looking forward to the other announcements but for now I am reluctant.
  4. I think most of the Fright Nights teasers do come from Jack Silkstone and because he is so focused on Exodus we haven’t really seen any construction updates as of yet. I agree now the promotional video is out we should see something soon, especially as they wanted to release it on national rollercoaster day.
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aORNmVY_u8c On this Q&A with John Burton he hints at Project Horizon being an RMC. Perhaps it is just a tease similar to what Thorpe did with the crate in Trailers, however if they are telling the truth I could possibly see the ride being something similar to the new dark ride coming to Silver Dollar City.
  6. Just seen an enthusiast on twitter stating that gold supports have been spotted on the island next to The Swarm. Excited to see the colour scheme as I can’t quite picture it in my head and how it will look.
  7. I agree that Inferno really does feel quite relentless and I often come into the break run completely disorientated. I don’t remember it always being as intense but it’s aged so well. (I do actually prefer it to the OG Nemesis)
  8. I think the area will need a big spruce up if they choose to retheme it entirely to something else or even if they even just give it a neutral theme to merge the lands of Amity to the Jungle. Obviously Thorpe are focusing less on the lands but I think things the 4D cinema could really use some newer effects as it is showing its age. I do doubt they will spend the money to do that though if they haven’t already.
  9. That is sad that they can’t have the chainsaws in the maze however I still think it would give Trailers a bit more longevity to include other mazes and make it less repetitive. I have done it once every year it’s been at the park and it is getting a bit stale. Would love to see it after the big top themed room so the transition between scenes is so striking. Or maybe it could replace the Hell Cell room as I feel like that’s one of the weaker ones.
  10. I would love them to maybe add a Creek Freak Massacre room to Trailers now that the maze has left the park. Would be a nice nod to all the fans of the maze especially as it’s definitely not returning.
  11. If the new maze is potentially going to be in the old Saw Alive area do we think we will see the Crows being moved?
  12. I’ve noticed a few hints from Thorpe about what the potential new maze is going to be themed to and I am pretty certain it’ll be a toy shop or toy factory theme. Hopefully they try and create something brand new and don’t just scatter a load of old theming around like they did in the Dead End scare zone a few years back. I do feel like Thorpe aren’t particularly scary with their themes anymore. I don’t want to keep dwelling on the past but we’ve had some excellent and truly scary themes in previous years, however it seems as though they are catering to a perhaps younger teenage market now.
  13. I agree that Trailers is a bit dated now, as much as I loved it during the first year and even last year it definitely needs refreshing or something added. Survival Games was a strong addition, however I do think it has kind of lost the thrill and excitement it had in its first year. The building is obviously still standing and I don’t see it going anywhere for a few years. I hope they bring a couple more mazes instead of the strong focus on scare zones as I was completely disappointed with The scores and Deaths Doors last year. I do want the Crows to come back in some way though.
  14. Just wanted to start the hype for Fright Nights this year. What mazes does everyone want to return? Personally I would like them to go back to the roots of Fright Nights with the likes of Asylum, The Curse etc. [EDIT] : By saying I would like them to go back to the original mazes I mean more of a straightforward linear path with proper jump scares.
  15. It appears the queue line videos for the ride are now playing on the TV’s again. I wonder when they are planning for it to open.
  16. I hate to be a pessimist but I really do hope there are some substantial changes if they are going to announce this as a new experience. Part of me thinks they have been working on this for the past few months and it just flew under the radar which is quite exciting. With the way Merlin are investing in the parks at the moment I just hope Thorpe haven’t got the short straw by just dropping the DB brand and parading it as something entirely new.
  17. I definitely would not be surprised if this is true after the Silkstone sponsorship Fright Nights we had last year. I do think it could potentially be for the better, however I also feel that Thorpe is losing a lot of its nostalgic charm at the moment. It’s nice that they are getting input from enthusiasts, but it feels as though they are trying to stay up to date with current trends and catering to a mostly younger target audience. I can’t say I know what the answer would be to bring back the nostalgic charm, but for a start the themed lands definitely made Thorpe feel like more of a complete experience so I am sad to see them go.
